The group is not a religious organization in itself, its an umbrella under which different faiths can come together and learn about each other. If Starlight was going to walk to church this is where she would go. But her only religion is Temptations. And cuddling her daddy. But it's a nice building and I have been in this church a few times, which is more than I can say for most churches in Western New York. Everyone is very welcoming.

The people are wonderful and welcoming, the homilies are first rate, and the music ministry is unparalleled and includes amazing vocals, piano, organ, AND original compositions by Phil R., one of the music ministers. The music is really incredible. After every Mass (9:30am Sundays year-round and 11:30am during the school year) there is coffee and treats. Students can enjoy a free home cooked meal once a week, soup another day of the week, and many other activities including field trips and alternative spring break. There are also many social activities for the larger faith community as well which are planned by the community council. Fr. Pat does an amazing job of ministering to students, and not just the ones from Buff State. If he knows you're working on your dissertation somewhere else, he will keep checking in on you and offering helpful advice and motivation. Everyone at Newman really cares about each other. If you're looking for a great community of people and homilies that really challenge you to be a better person, this is the place for you, student or not.

It's lovely to walk around, reflect, light candles or say a prayer. At Christmas time it's decorated. And the large Manger scene features a basket of blessed hay for you to take a piece Of. For stairs you can visit the museum and learn about Fr Baker ( and his journey to sainthood) or visit the gift shop and pick up some religious medals or other items, even purchase an empty bottle to fill with holy winter from several of the urns. I enjoy visiting and always see something new when I go.
