Either my Mum was a soft touch or my persuasion tactics were highly developed even at a young age, but I got those $160 Mollini shoes and I rocked them am every high school dance and wedding for about three years after. It's only a small store and they don't only just stock Mollini shoes anymore, but the selection is good and the staff are helpful running up and down stairs to help you get the sizes you need. Avoid the peak hours of lunchtime and just after work if you want more attention and a bit more space to spread out all the items you're trying on. Let's hope the $150 pair of stilettos I bought a week ago last for as many years as my very first pair of Mollinis.

My poor feet had been hurting from all the walking and travelling that I've been doing. Because I had already worn down my former Orthaheel sandals, I was due for a new pair. Shoes are great, but living in Hawaii and California for nearly all my life has conditioned me to wear sandals on a regular basis. I needed something quick, easy, and comfortable when I head out the door. The Walking Company provided many options for that! Many shoe stores I've visited rarely stocked orthopedic footwear- the only exception being the podiatrist clinic. Unfortunately, there is not much selection in design in such places. While my primary aim was to find orthopedic sandals, I also had a strong preference with ones with pretty designs. Although I have a foot problem, I don't necessarily want to advertise it to the world! Some footwear brands, such as Vionic and Orthaheel, offer this extra feature. I like the illusion of wearing cute sandals that don't look like orthopedic crutches. If I'm going to be spending extra money on special sandals, they best look nice! In actuality, I didn't have to spend extra money for nice sandals at The Walking Company! They were having a sale and much of their shoe prices were reduced. A pair of Ahnu sandals that originally costed $149 were on sale for only $89. The prices are still a little steep for me, but most orthopedic footwear is expensive. This was a pretty good deal. Also, they have a return/exchange policy that's pretty good. You can try out the shoes and see how it feels at home for a few days, and if it's not the right fit you are welcome to return it. The staff was really helpful and friendly! I am probably the most indecisive person in the world! It takes a while for me to decide what I really want. When it comes to making a decision that's going to affect your daily life (i.e. shoes, sandals), you want to make sure it's a worthy investment, right? The lady helping me was very attentive and wasn't put off by my lack of decision-making skills. After spending a while deciding between all the options, I decided to check out the Ahnu sandals. It can definitely be difficult to find shoes that's just the right fit. If you want a wide selection of footwear, I would definitely recommend this place. They cater to both men and women. Actual old fashion customer service. They know their product and they know your feet. A pretty cracking combination. Each shoe is beautifully made with quality materials and they all sit along little ledges up the wall of the store. Whether they are black and white brogues or vibrant orange clogs Sole Devotion have you covered. Just check out the different shoes and then flag down a sales assistant to help you out. There's a long cushioned bench in the middle of the store where you can have a seat, and even though the store can get very busy at times all the sales assistants are brilliant. Not only are they friendly, but their speed and efficiency astonishes me when the store is bursting with eager shoppers. If crowds aren't your thing then maybe try and avoid the weekends; there are always people around but its less likely you'll be distracted from some great shoe shopping.

Although there's also a range of largely high heeled shoes available, there's not nearly as many on offer as there are handbags. The stock changes over fairly regularly, and there's the odd sample hiding amongst the clones. The styles are as numerous as there are handbags, so you can find a plain work satchel-style bag as easily as a brightly coloured statement handbag. There's also a range of luggage down the back. The quality varies from brand to brand, and the odd leather bag may turn out not to be leather after all. Nonetheless, every purchase I've ever made from this store has been a magnet for compliments and my main handbag is still going strong after a year of heavy use. It's always the first place I go for a new handbag or wallet.

I used to have orthotics and have a bit of a dodgy body so it piqued my interest. But mostly I thought their mens' shoes range could be the answer to my hospitality-worker husband's problematic feet and recent pain issues. He now has a really lovely looking pair of work shoes that won't kill his feet. Bonus for me, I found two really nice pairs of casual shoes for him that he equally loves. So while we didn't get them all there and then (shoes here cost between $200-$290 a pair) it looks like I will finally get to stop nagging him to stop wearing thongs out and get him into some decent weekend shoes soon! Wife win. The women's shoes range have flats, loafers and heels. Most have an ankle strap to hold you in and stop toe-clawing. I found them a bit bulky for what I'm used to, but they're super comfy and I think I'll probably end up with a pair of the loafer style that comes up higher on the foot and doesn't need the strap. Right now I'm holding out for their new season winter boots as I myself do a fair bit of running around on foot. The staff were really friendly and knowledgable. They assured us that if there were any problems with the shoes at all, we could bring them back and they can refit the insole to sort any issues. Apparently they get people bringing back shoes after years to readjust the sole - making the price tag not only worth the investment, but actually a pretty good bargain for what you're getting. The buckle actually broke on my husband's shoes on his first day of wear which we were pretty surprised by, but they fixed it immediately and gave him some free polish for the inconvenience. Definitely sold on these guys.

The customer service is what makes me say that I'll never shop with Bared again. Take a week to reply, instead of helping with a refund try to sell more and generally don't seem at all keen to help. The fact that they don't do refunds was also poorly advertised on their website, so I only found out about it when it was too late. Such a waste of my time and money!
