Tom was our guide, Hailey, was the other rafts guide, and both were awesome. Tom knew so much about the area history and is very experienced guiding. Such an easy trip to make with fun rapids (III's and sometimes IV's). I'm sure all the guides are great, but we will ask for Tom and Hailey first next trip. Pretty impressed with this outfit. (Wish they had more merch to purchase though, just imo).

I have a membership based out of the Chesapeake peninsula, but when I came here to use my…read moremembership Miss Sandra told me that she couldn't find it in the system. She said that the system was out of date and doesn't always work. She then asked me for the phone number to the YMCA where my account came from so that she could call them, but obviously I don't know what it is. How often does someone call a YMCA and I'm pretty sure it is her job to have those phone numbers herself? Miss Sandra then looked at me as if I was a liar who was just trying to sneak into her facility and didn't want to call for herself. I know for a fact that my membership is valid, because I just got a new tag from a different branch three days prior. Since this incident, I have been to three different YMCAs and my membership has worked at all three with no problems. In fact, I went to a branch in downtown Richmond after I was denied from this location, and the wonderful woman working the front desk helped make sure that my membership would work at all locations within 5 minutes. Not only did this kind woman help me, she did it with a smile on her face. She was happy to help. On the other hand, Miss Sandra was the opposite. She wasn't willing to help or do her job to ensure that I could use the facility, but instead looked at me as if I was lying straight to her face. I really didn't appreciate that as I am sure that nobody does. I didn't bother to argue with her, because frankly I do not care. I am more than happy to visit any other location where the management has an ounce of respect for the people that pay to use these facilities and are happy to do their job. Needless to say, I will not be going back there because of Miss Sandra and simply the fact that there are better YMCAs within a 15 minute drive.

Coach Lyndsay was just great handling that and never treating her differently. I actually would have signed her up again just because it was a good experience for her and I trusted the coach. However, I would not recommend this place. Something is wrong with the owner or CEO or whatever. Maybe she was going through a traumatic time or something, but I've heard from others that she's just judgmental and antisocial but downright hateful. I experienced it firsthand. I won't go back there or recommend the place.

I had the pleasure of working here for 4 1/2 years and could honestly say that this place is pretty top notch between the curriculum and activities that they provide. This location is in Hanover County right behind SJMS and Sherwood Apartments. The Goddard school provides child care and after school programs. Summer Camp is always fun here and your kids will learn a lot. They cater to the needs of all children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age. The staff is always friendly and the owners Kathy and Steve DeNunzio will make you feel welcomed along with the wonderful teachers. I love that being an employee here meant being apart of such a great childcare facility and growing along with the school. The first building is for ages 6 weeks to pre-k and the back building (Kabanda) was for kindergarten as well as after school. There are two playgrounds one for the 2's and under and one for the big kids. Yes, it is on the pricey end of things, but quality is always a good thing. Id recommend checking out The Goddard School if you're interested in childcare.

The administration, the staff and the teachers are AMAZING! We drive out of our way every weekday…read morebecause we love it so much. Our kids have now aged out and we are sad to leave. When we came in from another child care program, we were welcomed right away and it immediately felt right. Our youngest went from crying everyday for a month at our previous provider, to smiles walking in the door every morning. Both our children have been given a bright start from the private kindergarten program. We also enjoyed speaking with the staff and we can't say this enough, they will be missed so much.
