But you tolerate it because they are cheaper. We still pay on average $400 on every visit. But, today was the last straw... Incredibly rude customer service. Apparently there was a max limit per customer on an item that was on sale. No sign or anything on the shelf/rack to indicate this. Cashier calls customer service, lady walks over, grabs the products that were 'too much' my husband said we wouldn't mind paying full price for all. No problem to us. Lady completely ignores it and doesn't answer to that, looks at us, looks at cashier, back to us then says to the cashier, ( so not a single word to us as customers) 'max of 4 bottles!!!' in an agitated voice and leaves with them. Euh ok!? The rule doesn't make sense anyway. What's preventing me from stepping right back in the store after paying and grabbing the items from the rack again and paying at another cashier with another card? Yeah, after years it's just not worth the 'cheaper' shopping. I have a background in customer service and as a company I suggest you educate your staff on how to do better. You've lost a loyal customer and we'll take our money elsewhere.

If you are a foreigner, they won't take a US driver's license to purchase alcohol, so make sure that everyone who is in your party all have their US passports on them before checking out. My husband went to purchase wine. I had my passport, he only had his driver's license. The older woman employee wouldn't sell to us unless we both had passports with us. She said my husband also couldn't come back to purchase wine with his passport, I had to be with him as well. I felt this was absurd because we're both in our mid-thirties, and she already checked my passport that said my age. Why would I need to come back with him? Another couple at self checkout was also denied the ability to purchase alcohol by the same employee for not all having passports despite the fact they were clearly older. It was a total hassle having to drive back to our hotel to get his passport and then pick up our wine at the customer service desk with both passports. Visited February 2023.

I entered the shop and went to the counter to ask about a product and he was having a conversation with another customer. His first words ro me were, "yes girl" in the rudest tone ever. I assumed professional businesses like these would know how to greet their customers properly. Secondly, when I asked him about a product and he didn't understand me properly, he yelled at me going "HUUUHHH WHAT" so loudly and disrespectfully. He seemed more interested in the conversation he was having with the other customer and acted as though I had disturbed their conversation and didn't seem happy about it. Never ever going back there again. I thought older people would be more respectful and courteous towards their customers, but that was not the case here. It's right next door to The Juice Station. We dropped in on a Wednesday afternoon (around 1:30pm). They've got tables both inside and out. The guys working inside are super chill and friendly. They explained the menu and then let us take our time deciding. Hilarious that they're closed Tuesday but on the hours sign, it says Pub Day! Work hard, play hard right? The menu is small but it's all about the burgers. They also have fried goods, shakes and a kids menu. There's a lunch deal (11:30am to 3:00pm, weekdays only). You get a burger, fries and either a can or water ($15.00 to 17.00). - L&P (lemon & paeroa) can - not too sweet. Hint of lemon. - Roast chicken sub ($12.00 NZD) - with gravy cheese and mustard. Lucky for my dad, they had a batch of cheese-less gravy. He really enjoyed his sub. - Fish lunch deal ($17.00 NZD) - fish of the day, herb oil, lettuce, jalapeño mayo and pickled red onion. Forgot to ask what type of fish it was but everything was delicious. Perfectly battered, flaky and the herb oil (almost like a basil pesto) was tasty. - Chicken lunch deal ($16.00 NZD) - Southern fried chicken (SFC), coleslaw and honey butter. The fried chicken was perfect; crispy, tender and nicely seasoned. The slaw was nicely balanced (little bits of celery added a nice texture). I don't go for burgers much but Pauly's Diner hit it out of the ballpark. We were delighted with their version of American burgers! Better even.
