I absolutely love this place, it is one of my favorite places to take my daughter. It's a little…read moreexpensive but honestly so worth it. The animals all appear to be healthy and happy. They have large, clean enclosures and are pretty active. My favorite part is definitely the lemur island they have set up. They aren't in cages! Just on a separated price of land where you walk over a little bridge to get there and you can have up close encounters (not allowed to touch though!) with the lemurs. I absolutely love it. The sea lions also have an enclosure but have access to the large river that runs throughout the zoo. This is a perfect place to take your kids to let some energy out! They have little side trails just for the kids to be able to explore and huge playgrounds throughout. The playgrounds are nice and clean too(no trash or junk in the sand) I've seen kids of all ages playing on the playground. And right next to the playground they have an area to sit and maybe grab a coffee while your kids play. The restrooms have been clean every time I've gone however the sinks weren't working one time. The food is decent, but not all the food places have been open when I've been. Despite those 2 small issues I have really enjoyed visiting here, so much that I got an annual pass so I can visit a few times a month. And the best part is, if it's cold or rainy and you want to go but don't want to walk they have a drive through safari where you can either take a shared bus or drive your own vehicle. I haven't taken the bus yet but just recently did the autosafari. We really enjoyed it! We grabbed some coffee and hot chocolate and some snacks then went at a nice slow pace and didn't feel rushed but there's areas where cars can pass each other if someone wants to go faster (obviously not too fast). You don't get to see as many animals as you would walking but still super cool that you can drive right up next to a cheetah! it took us about an hour to drive through. I highly recommend if you love animals or have kids to check this place out!

I have to admit, i was sceptical. Safari ... Yeah ok... We got there and this is usually something…read moreoma does with Lucy and Jack. Fun alone time with the kids but since it's vacation i figured i tag along. So we got out of the car and started walking. Walking yes me :-) For those who know me, not my favourite activity. We first got to the leopards. I figured those poor animals, locked up. They should be in the wild and BOOM..there he was right against the window where you can view them! He even jumped up...AMAZING. I still didn't think they should be locked up but then I saw the vast teritory they have to roam and hunt and started feeling less bad for them and more for animals in circusses. It seemed like where ever we arrived something unique was happening. The leopard came to say hi, the elephant roared and shook up everyone around ( even the monkeys they live with), the gnoes where eating, the okapi was staring at Lucy like they had something to say to her and only her :-), the zebras were all playing-rolling around in the dirt playing etc my list is really too long to write (seriously) We ended our walk ( you can still walk the entire park but with two small children and me...naaa) arriving at the Congo restaurant, we were starved. We got some food from the huge selection and to my surprise, it was really good- oh yeah did i mention we were overlooking the water and on the other side there were lions chillin and playing? Epic!! Well I thought so. Bathroom (clean!)break and onto the boat!! Oh yes a boatride. Just another way to see the park. From the water. It was lovely to be sitting down in the sun seeing all those animals 'in the wild'. we were sitting down enjoying all the tips and tricks our guide was sharing with us. We arrived and walked to the parking lot. It had been a wonderful day full of play ( little playgrounds on the way everywhere, so if the kids get bored walking, which, they won't, they always have fun play moment on slides or climbing) So we headed out to the car. Oma said ' now we're going to drive through the park' !!!? I was amazed at the things we saw. We saw leopards walking alongside the road getting ready to hunt!!! To hunt!!! WOOW we got stared down by a huge family of camels for about 15 minutes ( they are huge let me tell you) the zebras ran around and in front of us, the giraffes were licking the windows.. It felt so real and just amazing. I was in awe. I had never seen any of these animals so up close and personal. I loved it! You can walk, take the boat, the bus or drive through the safari. The experience was amazing! I now understand why the kids are full of amazing stories when they get back from their day with oma!! I had the same :-))I highly recommend!!
