Beautiful and quiet. Very close to Tunica Hills hiking. Quiet place to stay with fishing and hiking on sight. Definitely will return!

Lovely property! Gravel parking lot to park in, and Brenda will offer to help carry you/your stuff…read moredown to the campsites. There was also an unloading spot that you could drive your car down to and she also let us borrow a wagon to haul our stuff from the car for the campsite. The campsites are close by each other so it can get loud when it's really full, but I didn't mind that - I almost felt like we had neighbors lol but if you are wanting something more private, please keep that in mind. There was a flushable toilet with a running sink and a small mirror. There's also a pavilion with some picnic tables and lights at night if you wanna play cards there. There was a porter potty near the campsites so that was another option for the bathroom aside from the flushable toilet that was just a little bit of a walk closer to the parking lot. Multiple water/dishwashing stations with big sinks (huge plus!) Firewood was five dollars a bundle and we ran through four in one night! (Bundles are kinda small.) We did have an electric campsite, which was just one outlet (it did have an extension cord attached to it, so if I would've known this, I would've brought some lights to hang up.) The fire pit is pretty big and it comes with a cooking grate. There is also lots of trees to hang up hammocks on. The tent pad was pretty big but I did ask for a campsite that could fit 3 tents - I saw some that were a lot smaller so you will just have to let her know what you want. We had site #8 - I would stay there again. We paid $98 for an electrical campsite for two nights with four people and four bundles of firewood. Not too bad. We didn't have too much of a problem with bugs, but I would definitely bring some bug spray next time. We did have some fire ants next to the fire, but they didn't get in our food. We also saw a good bit of spiders but you're in the woods so what do you expect lol. You're also only 15-20 minutes away from some great hiking trails! We went to Clarke Creek in Mississippi. There's another closer to the campsite I believe. Anyways, i'd come back here!

I love this place. Always nice to take a long walk to clear your mind, be around nature, or…read moreexercise.

We went to Petra's for dinner and were very happy with quality of food and service. The following day we did a hike recommended in visitors book. A visit to The Myrtles Plantation offers a unique blend of Southern history, architectural beauty,…read moreand just enough mystery to keep things interesting. The guided tour does a strong job of bringing the property's past to life. Set among towering oak trees and Spanish moss, the plantation itself is visually stunning, and the home's preserved interiors give an authentic glimpse into 18th- and 19th-century Louisiana life. Rainy Day our knowledgeable and engaging tour guide, was mixing well-documented history with the plantation's well-known ghost stories in a way that feels balanced rather than over-the-top. That said, expectations matter. If you're hoping for a purely historical deep dive, some of the supernatural elements may feel a bit dramatized. On the flip side, if you're looking for a full-on haunted experience, it's more subtle than theatrical. Overall, The Myrtles Plantation tour is a worthwhile stop for anyone traveling through Louisiana. It offers a memorable mix of culture, history, and atmosphere--especially for those who appreciate a good story along with their sightseeing.

The cabin was amazing, very clean, well kept yet the rustic feel but with all of the amenities. The park was well kept and beautiful. We did trail rides both on Friday and Saturday through the forest and along the river. Our guide was amazing and the two horses we got to ride were perfect. My daughter is experienced, but I am not and both horses were perfectly trained even for an old man like me. We will be back for sure. Ignore the older reviews, the current management, husband and wife, were both some of the best people I've met in a long time and work hard to keep the cabins and grounds perfect.

(Literally, 2 barrels full) Weeds were grown up around the stalls and in the arena catch pens. (beer bottle thrown near the manure Ben) The grass was freshly cut, though. The people running the place did not greet us in the two days that we were there. The souvenir store was never opened. It was July 4th weekend and there was only 3 OTHER TRAILERS there on that big beautiful place. It's not the same since the new caretakers have taken over last year. You had to book way in advance just to secure a spot, no one is even there, now. We the ppl helped pay for this place with many stays and now we none feel welcome, anymore. It's an Empty facility now! Caretakers were rude and it seemed we were a burden to be there on the one occasion of speaking with them. We had major issues with our plug hookups last October, causing my beautiful dog to get BADLY electrocuted, when they had just taken over. (Large male collie and he cried out and loud) No one was accommodating. It caused my husband to have to replace the converter in our 39' Lakota along with microwave. To say "disappointed" is an understatement. We have supported the owner for all of these years. We actually, reached out to him through messenger. He said he would be calling me back concerning our experience but never reached out. It's been 3 weeks now. Unfortunately, the running of BCR has changed drastically and it's very sad. This place was a fun place for our family and children to relax and have fun. To say we miss the other caretakers is an understatement..! It was good days when all the horse folks had a part in supporting. Date of stay: July 2026 Traveled with family

LOL This is one of my fave places to stay in Louisiana. I grew up in the area & when I want to go home, this is where I want to go kick back. This area is very very special, there is tons of great food, antique stores & historic places you can visit & the coolest place to stay is here. If you are staying for a while, rent the whole cottage. It's beautiful. If your just staying for a few days, stay in the barn. The upstairs is perfect for 2 & it has a Jacuzzi tub. The views of the lake are breathtaking from the front balcony. I LOVE that there is a separate "party barn/cook shack" here that you can cook & hang out outside & take it all in. It's not a shack by any means, it's a very cool set up, a chefs dream outdoor kitchen. Stuff that Louisiana girls LOVE. It's 100 % Louisiana style ;) There are at least 10-12 old oaks draped in moss on the property that are over 200 years old that are registered with the State. Just like a picture perfect dream, flowering shrubs that perfume the air, puppies that greet you on arrival, children playing the the background.. This place is nothing short of stunning, and truly feels like a little piece of heaven. The decorations were rustic and perfectly matched what you'd expect in a simple country home. We stayed in the barn loft, and I was pleasantly surprised when the AC was more than able to keep up with the summer heat in southern Louisiana. The breakfast was simple but good, and much better than any you'll find in a hotel. The pond was beautiful and peaceful, and there were no noises except the sounds of nature (mostly cicadas chirping). I cannot recommend this place enough, and we will most definitely be coming back for future visits.
