It is easily in our top 5 favorite restaurants. It would also be within the top 3 or 5 best restaurants we've eaten at. I think it has gotten better since we started visiting, which is saying a lot. The restaurant is now getting recognized by Michelin and was recently added to their Michelin Guide. I will have to see if I can locate additional photos I have taken over the years. We have been at this point, June 2026, about five times. Every time we go the food and service is 10/10. We always start with the Baguette, Bisque and Sensation Salad. If I had to choose one dish to order it would be the Bisque. I could make a meal out of it with the Baguette. It is one of the 10 best bites of food I have ever had. It's the best thing on the menu in my opinion and luckily it's a main stay. As far main dishes go we have had varieties of their steak, pane'd veal, pork chop, pasta and fish. All were amazing. When it comes to desserts we typically get the flourless Chocolate Torte (when available) and the cheesecake.

Frankly, this BW is just about the only place to stay…read more My grandchild and I were on our way back to the NO area and stopped here for the night. Our Room was fine, service was fine, bummer that the only working ice machine was off the lobby, but we managed. It has the typical hotel breakfast. The good thing is that breakfast grab and go food was stocked well. Certainly would stay here again.

I talked to KP who told me it was for incidentals. I said that's impossible because I've stayed at high end hotels all over the USA and the ONLY time I was remotely close to that amount for incidentals was $200 for the Loews Hotel in Arlington, TX. and the same amount ($200) for incidentals for a hotel right on Times Square in NYC. But he insisted that it's how their computers are set up and will go away between 3-5 business days. KP's story changed when he spoke with my husband and said he did charge us twice. KP told my husband he can write down on a post it note that he will be refunded. My husband had to insist that he wanted written confirmation from the hotel through email that he would be refunded. KP made it seem like this was a hassle. When asked to speak to the manager who KP said his name was Sonny...I wasn't able to and he refused to let me know if the manager would be in the next day. I didn't know that it was such a secret when the manager would in to speak to him. I would HIGHLY recommend NOT staying there but if you do HAVE to stay at Best Western that you check your card IMMEDIATELY after they swipe for incidentals. I do feel like he was hoping we wouldn't notice and is most likely scamming a lot of other people by double charging them and pocketing the money especially because he refused to allow me to speak to a manager and lied to me about the charge being for incidentals!! I would give a ZERO but I'm unable to.

A visit to The Myrtles Plantation offers a unique blend of Southern history, architectural beauty,…read moreand just enough mystery to keep things interesting. The guided tour does a strong job of bringing the property's past to life. Set among towering oak trees and Spanish moss, the plantation itself is visually stunning, and the home's preserved interiors give an authentic glimpse into 18th- and 19th-century Louisiana life. Rainy Day our knowledgeable and engaging tour guide, was mixing well-documented history with the plantation's well-known ghost stories in a way that feels balanced rather than over-the-top. That said, expectations matter. If you're hoping for a purely historical deep dive, some of the supernatural elements may feel a bit dramatized. On the flip side, if you're looking for a full-on haunted experience, it's more subtle than theatrical. Overall, The Myrtles Plantation tour is a worthwhile stop for anyone traveling through Louisiana. It offers a memorable mix of culture, history, and atmosphere--especially for those who appreciate a good story along with their sightseeing.

The initial presentation is a nice getaway to the country plantation life. Unfortunately when…read morestaying we came to realize each cabin is infested with bugs, one being covered in ants. The "continental" breakfast is a few stale croissants in a ziplock bag and expired orange juice. Turning to a highlight of an in house jacuzzi tub, don't expect the water to stay hot long enough to reach above the jets. Our tub button broke on first use. When mentioning to staff the front desk lady told us to figure it out with a broom. Also the older lady working in the front/main house should maybe rethink working in customer service.

I booked the Cook's Cottage for a little getaway weekend retreat. I planned to relax, read, walk…read morethe grounds with my small dog, sleep in, enjoy the ambiance. I was VERY disappointed when I got inside the cottage. Friends who have stayed at Butler Greenwood told me the cottages are a little older and rustic, but the pictures online looked charming. None of them had stayed at the Cook's Cottage might I add. I wasn't expecting a pristine, modern accommodation, but this cottage was closer to disrepair than rustic. Everything needs an update/upgrade/thorough cleaning. The sofa/chair slip covers were worn, dirty, and covered with random material squares where they were ripped, two of the three lamps were broken at the top so the shades tipped over to the side, the entire cottage aside from the bathroom was carpeted in old blue office carpet with some throw rugs on top. There were various prints and blankets covering the wall, one I noticed was taped on the glass where it had cracked. Cobwebs and dust were visible on many of the old wall hangings, the fireplace tools, the top of the mantle. There were dead bugs under the bed, in a kitchen cabinet with some random large pans, the air conditioner unit was old and only got somewhat cool no matter how low I tried to set it. The mattress on the bed was hard and probably thirty years old, the pillows stained and of the caliber of what they use in hospitals, the bathroom faucet and toilet were worn down and chipped, the jacuzzi tub faucets had such low pressure I had to run the water for over an hour to fill it enough to run the jacuzzi. Everything looked and felt dirty. There's mold on the shower door, a blue metal trash can that looks like something from a 1980s grammar school cafeteria would have used, a ceiling fan that could only be run with all of the overhead lights on. I thought about leaving the first night, but the weather was bad and it was already dark. I did ask Ms. Ann Butler, the owner, if I could move to another cottage, but she said all were booked for the next day. I had the opportunity to go look inside the Dovecoat cottage before the renters arrived, and it was one hundred times nicer than the Cook's cottage. Much cleaner, more light, renovated, more updated furniture and flooring. I cannot believe she rents these two cottages for the some price (she rents any of them for $150 if only one bedroom is used). I felt like I had been tricked as my place felt like a cheap motel. An old, dirty, cheap motel while the others appeared significantly nicer, more comfortable, up to date, etc. I spent Saturday walking the grounds, tried to swim (the pool was dirty and had mold on the stairs leading in), and enjoyed sitting on the back deck reading and looking at the lovely pond view. The grounds are lovely. As long as I was outside my cottage, everything was charming, pleasant, and nice enough. I chose to make the best of it for the day and then packed my things and drove home at sunset as spending another night in that cottage was not an option. I thought about talking with the owner about it, but I cannot imagine I am the first to complain about this cottage, and I could tell by her response when I asked about moving cottages she was not concerned about customer satisfaction. I am so disappointed and felt really swindled by the misleading website pictures. I am sharing some of my own so no one else makes the same unfortunate choice. From what I'm told, Chases's Cottage, the Pond House, the Tree house, and the Dovecoat (I can vouch for this one myself) are all lovely. The place is truly worth it if you can rent one of those cottages, but you would literally be better off staying at a 2 or 3 star hotel in the area than this cottage.

I am absolutely disappointed. 150$ a night for pubic hair in the bed. Bugs! Dirty tub. The place outside is worse. Garbage everywhere! Chairs in the lake. I feel like they owe me 4 new tires as well. Pot holes are part of the charm. I just can't begin to tell anyone never stay here. I had to go to the local dollar General ( also nasty) for cleaning supplies and sheets. Lesson learned. I will look at reviews first.

(Now called Hotel St. Francis)…read more We stayed here as part of a wedding (I'm not sure why the bride & groom recommended it) and it was a huge mistake. Friendliness of staff: I had two interactions with the staff to make the reservation and both weren't good. They were very rude and disorganized and it was hard for me to get a confirmation. On arrival, it took 20 minutes to check-in and they couldn't find my reservation. Luckily I had the confirmation slip. Then they tried to overcharge me by $20, but I had the confirmation that showed a lower rate. Then, they still billed me for 2 nights when we only stayed one. I'm still trying to get that fixed. Rooms: The rooms were completely awful. They smelled like smoke, the beds were horrible, the shower ceiling was caving-in, the shower head was horrible. Cleanliness: Also incredibly awful. We took one look at our room and immediately started calling around for other hotel openings, but there weren't any. The toilet seat had some sort of paper towel stuck to it still (I'm really hoping that's remnants of it being cleaned), the soap package was already open and on the sink, and we only had one towel (the housekeeping lady, the only nice person we interacted with, did bring us more). Food: We took one look at breakfast and headed for Birdman cafe.
