One of the best Indian meals I have had in a long time and the service was exceptional!
One of the best things about my friends is that they share my love for good food so 9/10 (there has been the odd disaster) their restaurant recommendations are spot on. So when my friend suggested that we go to the Turban in Giffnock, one of her favourite Indian restaurants, I jumped at the chance. So what if it meant starting the New Year diet a little late?!
We arrived and the restaurant was empty but it's January so I would have been more shocked if it was busy (although it did end up pretty busy by the end). It was really pretty with crisp, white table covers on every table and we sat in one of the comfortable booths. We decided to order from the pre theatre menu which was £13.95 for 3 courses. We started with poppadoms & spiced onions, then I had vegetable pakora (my friend had the mixed version), I had the Chicken Chasni (my friend had a Korma) and we both had rice; sharing a Peshwari Naan. For dessert, I had a cup of tea which was served with four cubes of Scottish tablet.
All of the food was outstanding! Honestly, I have nothing to complain about at all. The service was great - attentive but not overbearing. After our main courses we were given warm cloths and toothpicks to use before ordering dessert - lovely touch. The Peshwari Naan was particularly delicious with just the right amount of coconut and plenty of almonds on top.
For just over £20 each, this was really good value for money and I had a lovely time. Huge thanks to the staff for their wonderful service. read more
