There is wifi in the lobby and we had wifi in our room. Pool is freezing at this time of year but nice and clean like the garden. Its not in the middle of the touristy center of albufeira wich is nice. There are plenty of great restaurants to eat nearby such as jardim rustico or os compadres. And you can walk to the center or beach in 15 mins. Make sure to rent a car while you stay in portugal. There is a great car rental place right around the corner called tropical impacto. They also sell tickets for tours and boatrides. Anyway, great place, good location and friendly staff.

It's about 10 minutes from the nearest beach and 15 minutes from the bus station. Rooms come with sheets, blankets and a towel (which most places charge). I'll definitely be back in the summer. I came in January which is during their off season. Weather cooperated for the most part, but even despite the rain, the Algarve is a wonderful place to visit.

They also let us add a single bed to one of the rooms so an extra guest could stay. The Villa has a huge living room with a big U-shaped sofa and marble floors throughout. It also has a dining area which leads into a decent sized kitchen with a mammouth fridge. Best of all though, is the pool and outside area (which is where you will spend most of your time if the weather is as good as it was for us). The marble continues, keeping the ground cool even under the hottest sun, there is a large patio area under cover so that you can eat lunch in the shade, and a lovely kidney-shaped pool. There are 8 sun loungers with waterproof mattresses and the plastic patio table could sit 10 comfortably. There are also a couple of good BBQs for use. The paintings and fake flowers inside are a little naff, but somehow add to the charm of the place. The beds are comfortable and the rooms stay pretty cool. Mosquitoes didn't seem to be a problemthere were quite a lot of ants outside, but they were rarely found in the villa. Carvoeiro itself (a small fishing village a 15 minute walk or a quick drive down the hill) was a little touristy for my tastes, but still contained a few decent restaurants and was useful for buying flipflops and lilos etc. There are plenty of other beaches and towns nearby though, and also a big supermarket and a few different water parks. On the way down to the beach in Carvoeiro is a small square with a collection of very British-friendly pubs and restaurants, including a pizza place, a Tandoori, a Steak-on-the-stone grill and a French-style bistro. I can definitely recommend it for big families and groups of friends alike.

The Good: * The lobby, pool, buffet, bar and spa area are super nice * Many of, if not all, the staff were multilingual * Excellent facilities. There was a beach volleyball court, tennis court, indoor/outdoor pools, kids pool area, adequate gym, spa, etc. * Room and in-room wifi were solid The Eh: * Beach was across a street, then across rr tracks :-/ * Pool was frigid * One pool towel given per room, which had to be picked up/returned at the spa * The room and hallway color scheme was odd for a beach resort. I know this is strange to say, but an all black hallway and then blood red accents is just weird. Check the pics. * Electricity would turn off when you left the room. Charging electronics and keeping the room cool didn't happen * Bit of an older crowd (avg age 50+) The Bad: * The food. Wow was this poor. The pool bar had some of the worst food of my vacation.. and I got a salad and a turkey wrap aka things that are tough to fudge up. Breakfast (included with my room) was OK, but things were grossly undercooked and the most plentiful items were lunch meats (weird). Lunch/dinner should be a hard pass unless you enjoy a nice mix of bland meats and rice * No free water anywhere. Not in the lobby, gym, by the pool... Nowhere. Dropping 3-5 euro each time you want water is nuts. Considering they warn you not to drink the tap water, there should be other options available besides bottled water. The beer and wine is actually cheaper * No small towels available at/for the gym. Though there's a big sign on the wall to wipe down after you use a machine, I was instructed to bring down a room towel to do so. Double weird considering the gym is in the spa, which is FULL of towels. * The mini bar shouldn't be called a bar. It's a little fridge with 3 waters in it. So, it's a mixed bag here. Many of the problems above are easy to fix, so maybe changes will be made soon. Overall, come here if you have a family and want an all-inclusive experience in the area and don't really care to try the local cuisine. Don't come here as a solo traveler who likes to explore.

It was furnished to a very high standard and very well equipted. Margaret who meet us there and advised us about the apartment and the holiday complex. It was spotless clean and everything you could wish for. The girls on reception all spoke perfect English and could not do enough for you. We are going again in October there is a big heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi as well as outdoor pools, so we will get our swimming in! Look for this apartment at algarvegetaways and have yourself a fab holiday and pounds cheaper than anywhere else. Patsue

You could spend a week here without leaving campus and be perfectly happy, though its central location to both Lagos and Faro allows for day trips to visit the towns and partake in their outdoor experiences (kayaking, hiking, etc.). Rooms are large and clean, and restaurant options are myriad. There are so many things on offer, from high-end seafood and sushi to Indian cuisine. All are good, though none are truly great. Sunsets should be experienced from the Champaign Bar, overlooking the cliffs and sea below. Those looking for exercise will be impressed with the well-apportioned gym. Note that it seemed crowded throughout our 5-day resort stay. The resort also boasts plenty of leisure and athletic facilities. The 9-hole golf course is sufficiently challenging and includes a hole with a cliff-to-cliff canyon carry. Clubs and golf shoes (required) and available for rent. The driving range was somehow closed before our tee time because of its proximity to the soccer (football) fields and upcoming soccer (football) practice. These professional fields are prominently featured on the resort's website, but were used by a professional club and off-limits to resorts guests during my stay. (Note to the resort: do not trumpet facilities that are off-limits). The resort also includes tennis courts (two clay) and a basketball court. The only real drawback to the resort is that it is rotten with kids, from which adults simply cannot escape. My advice to the resort would be to designate at least one of the pools or restaurants as "adults only." As things currently stand, there is no place to escape the crying and enjoy a mid-day catnap.

The bar serves cheap good beer as well as free WiFi. Good breakfast. The transat by the pool were amazing. No WiFi in rooms and beds are not of highest comfort. But overall pleasant stay!
