The lunchtime menu (happy hour) offer is extremely good value. My favourite (so far) is chicken and lamb Shawarama with chips or rice together with salad and fresh humus on a large plate for £6.50 .. absolutely delicious! It felt less special and was less pristine than it should have been. Tables were left uncleared for far too long after guests left. My wine glass arrived dirty, with a very small pour (replaced with a large pour, as ordered, and a clean glass when I pointed it out). It took far too long for anyone to come to my table. Despite good food the collection of missteps left a negative impression, like nobody who cares is actually watching over this outpost. This would easily be a 4-star review were it based on food alone but there is no escaping that it is the collection of a dining experience that influences one's overall feelings about a place. My final whinge will be that the didn't let us book as we wanted to eat at 6.30 but when we got there made quite a bit of a fuss about the fact the hadn't booked. The staff were all very confused. They had a lovely selection of drinks and I enjoyed a very modest Hedgerow Fizz which was a mere £3.501 In this area, you will not find better food, ethically sourced anywhere else. It really is quite wonderful. They also have a food store here and do hampers for gifts with goodies like Berkshire honey and Bill's homemade chilli jelly. It's worth eating here if you're in the area.
