Turnbull does beautiful work on restoring firearms... I recently purchased a Marlin 1894 CB that Turnbull purchased from Marlin I presume, and they strip the factory bluing and case harden the receiver, lever and forearm cap. The work was beautiful on the color of the case hardened work....however the receiver showed definite signs of having been sanded. Turnbull, when informed of this, explained that they chemically strip the factory blueing and case harden the parts...I would have "hoped" they would polish out the surface before the final case hardening.. I don't see this in my factory Marlin rifles. They did offer to refund my investment. If you are considering a purchase, you might want to ask about this issue. read more
