It doesn't take a PHD or an 'Einstein' to install roof shingles. Just take a look at some of the 'yahoos' who actually install roofing. Most of the time, these roofing guys look like they came straight out of the movie 'Deliverance' . ( Can you hear the Banjos?). My point is, ANYBODY can install a roof. In the case of TURNBULL roofing in Oshawa, their customer service SUCKS. If you have an issue with your roof, or a question regarding a quote, good luck dealing with TURNBULL. Don't waste your time. Had our roof installed in 2018. Chose Turnbull based on years in business and reputation. Noticed a leak yesterday. Called today only to be informed they are out of business and no recourse for existing customers. So much for their 10 yr labour warranty. read more

So if you have had a bad roofing job done, I wouldn't reccommend this company to come fix it. I was almost tricked by all their great reviews and company standing that I could have made another potential, disaster. The only reasons they have this many reviews is because, they are cheaper then the beat guys and are doing more jobs and hence getting more reviews. I had them come and do a quote on my roof on a Friday, the estimator had already came with a figure written on a clipboard, named Daryl. He seemed professional, looked at the roof, no measurements were taken, no talks about materials and no actual written estimate was given, because he made some promises to write me an estimate by that evening including pictures of my roof to show what needed to be done and the things that were wrong by the original roofer. So I though great I finally may have found a good roofing company, there are thousands and thousand and almost everyone one of them is risk because of no legal regulations of the industry. I did not get that report on Friday. I called on Sat left a message, again no reply. Then I contacted him on Monday from my cell phone he ignored and then phoned by my landline and he explained he was busy with the kids and now has a work meeting and that report would be done that evening. Now again I didnt recieve an estimate. I then called the office on Thursday, explaining that I didn't recieve a written estimate and maybe Darryl was to busy to give me the report. The receptionist then said she would call Darryl and see what's going on. He then immediately called me and said that he spoke with his supervisors and that he couldn't put pictures in the report and didn't want to get involved in a legal disputes with my actual negligent roofer. Even though an estimate should include the work needed to be done that was not done by the previous roofer. Then I said that fine, and could you provide me an estimate with what work has to be done. He then said he can't believe I still want to work with them and then said now that its on a negative tone, that he refused to do business with me and told me the company would listen to him over me. Which is what happened, the receptionist, phoned me and told me they refused to business with me and Darryl made a fake estimate covering his mistakes and they emailed me the report. I was shocked beyond words that a business refused to do business with me. I know now its obviously because I know what I was talking about they may seen me as a potential liability risk. They wasted my time for over a week. Also when he came his liability insurance was expired and other certifications were not available. For anyone who really wants to find a good contractor I highly reccomend looking into gaf certified roofing contractors. It took me awhile to find but it narrowed the roofing companies to 7 companies in the entire gta and area out of thousands. It is more pricey but its the only way to protect yourself from all these so called roofing companies. As for the best in Durham. Turnbull, you are from that and covering up and wasting peoples time when they really need work done in my opinion is highly unprofessional. I am glad you turned us away because I now have the best company in the city doing the job. Shame on you and being shady! read more

I had posted on facebook looking for positive referrals for a roofing company. One friend recommended a company, but after looking for reviews, I decided they weren't for me. Leading the polls was Turnbull Roofing, so I gave them a call. They were upfront in saying they weren't the cheapest and they weren't the most expensive, but they were dedicated to excellent customer service. My roof had started leaking through the light switch, so they patched it immediately and prioritized my job accordingly. They answered my inquiries with great response time. Many friends thought the price was excellent though. A friend thought they would have skimped on several steps given the price, but when I read the work detail, he just said 'wow'. All in all, an excellent experience considering replacing a roof is not up there on the experiences you want. read more
