This joint has been around in one form, or another since 1886 and started life as Kansas City High School. The current building built in 1936 is modern or Art Deco style by Hamilton,Fellows & Nedved. It's a master piece. The twin massive fireplaces, still in use, are outside of the administration area. There's an onsite museum featuring some of the notable alumni including Ray Evans and Ed Asner.

Natalie, the owner, has been the best employer I have ever worked for- kind, flexible, accommodating, and a great leader who has extensively trained for Montessori education as well as behavior management and nonviolent communication. I learn from her daily and feel like I am part of loving community at our school. All of the parents are collaborators with us teachers in the care and education of their precious children. I love each child as if they are my own. My position is unique as both a parent and a teacher, and for that I am blessed. I can't thank Natalie, and my coteachers enough for the precious and inspiring time my daughter and I have had at Little Sprouts these past two years.
