Just got another bill with no explanation/description over 5 years after my case closed, so it seemed like a good time to write a review. When I was using Turner for my case, I was charged $50 for correcting typos on the contract they drafted, $250 for a phone call my ex made to the firm asking when the court date is, charged another $250 to tell me via email that she called them, and then they decided to generate documents on my ex's behalf (another $250) and told me "well we couldn't charge her so we added it to your account". Even though she had a lawyer and didn't even ask Turner Law to generate any documents? They charged another $250 to email me that they couldn't charge her so they charged me instead, which is almost comical. Almost. They don't explain any of these charges and are pretty vague in the bill intentionally because they want you to reach out and ask about the charges so they can then charge you $250 per email reply (not even joking, they charged that for almost every reply, including billing questions). Not to mention numerous other ghost charges, these were just the most egregious. I fought them on the scams/money grabs and they would not budge. Their whole business is nickel and diming you into oblivion. They put way more effort into making up things to bill you for than working on your case. If you have an abundance of money you don't want, and don't care about the outcome of your case, this is the law office for you! read more

Also has him do a land transfer, took it to county clerk office (years ago) and they said it was filled out incorrectly. This firm is only interested in getting your money. This firm literally did not finish their job and the council representing me from this firm by the name of Emily Pfeiffer I retained through Nashville law office represented me on an appeal, which I did win, but she did not do her due diligence to find out where I still on child support payments and opposing parties surrendered documents stating I owe $10,000 of child support arrears that I didn't and in fact, paid it at the end of the year prior to me retaining this firm I also wanted to appeal opposing parties attorney fees in the dollar amount of $20,000 which also was not added to the final order. It all snowballed on me and I addressed it with Mr. Turner, he ignored me called me a liar at that. And demanded his balance of $800 when the job clearly wasn't completed. I walked into his office and spoke to a woman by the name of Chelsea Stevenson, who at first to be seen things to eye with me, but for about six months, getting strung along, she has done absolutely nothing, and threatened to call the police on me because I was following up with these issues the last Attorney dropped the ball on that she promised she would straighten out for me and even used a personal matter as leverage which had nothing to do with my case just to get me to stop reaching out to her after the fact, she gave me her personal number? As recent, I had to do my footwork and proved my point to the court after personal research and filing motions for juvenile court to see that the arrears balance was paid. I emailed the firm showing them. I was clearly correct and did not get an answer from them. This literally put me in debt and dropped my credit score tremendously. I was also garnished by Rob Turner for the $800 balance and I'm getting garnished now from opposing party for $20,000 of Attorney fees that was supposed to been attached to my appeal. This firm clearly did not do.his business and practice should be shut down for failing to uphold the integrity of his practice. read more

After 9 months and $1500 later, they still didn't do a thing in regards to my small civil matter. I rarely got email responses, never got a returned phone call. I did more leg work on my case than they did. All I got from them was excuse after excuse. They refused to refund the remainder of my retainer, yet still hasn't done a thing towards resolving this for me. Definitely gives lawyers a bad name & rep. Finally gave up and did all the leg work, compiling paperwork, submitting paperwork and doing follow up calls and emails myself. This law office is using Jennifer Mccoy law office for debt collection (however i paid it over a yr ago so it was not a debt) and just gave me a summons to go to court in less than a week notice for a payment I had already paid over a year ago. I even proved I had paid it to Turner Law. They are still trying to make me pay for court fees for something they shouldn't have even taken me to court over. I will move the court date and I will be reaching out to another attorney to handle this as I know they have done this to multiple people. Even though it will cost me more to hire to an attorney. It is about what is right. After I paid it over a year ago it showed up on my credit report, so i called to get them to remove it. And of course they didn't. They also didn't ever mention Jennifer Law either. They were paid over a year ago, listed as the plaintiff so they are responsible. I proved it was paid but they are trying to scam me and others by saying it is court fees. You can't take someone to court year later for something you already paid. In the letter i got over a year ago did not list any additional fees, i paid in full. I also want to add I had an email several months prior telling me a had a zero balance. I shouldn't have even paid the new amount they said I owed. I have no problem paying for what I am responsible for but I am not paying for something that is not my fault, plus gas to go to court and lost wages from having to take off work for a few hours to drive over an hour to go to court. On top of that they were not very competent in my divorce either. I had to ask them multiple times to retype my documents. They had the wrong names and wrong information like they just copied and pasted an old case. They also literally did nothing, would never answer calls, overcharged for simple things and I paid several thousands of dollars for something I could have done myself. read more

The whole staff was very helpful and informant the first day I went in and they explained thoroughly how the whole process worked. The staff had excellent communication and had answers to any questions I had. Rob, my attorney, was punctual and very informative through every step of the process. I got the best possible outcome working with Turner Law and am happy to have chosen them to defend me. I am essentially going to echo what the other 6 reviewers have left here as reviews of this law firm. What they have said about the high turnover rate, the total lack of communication from any of these lawyers, and the ridiculous amount of fees they charge are all what I experienced with this firm as well. I really wish I had done a better job of researching them before I gave them my initial retainer. I went though a total of 6 different lawyers in the year I was with this firm while dealing with my case and keep in mind that mine was a child support modification not a criminal or murder case so it was a simple case to handle and yet 6 different lawyers due to the high turnover rate at this firm. Then there is the total lack of communication from ANY of these lawyers! I had to constantly email and call them to find out the status of my case and often time when I did it was "oh, so and so is no longer here or handling your case so you have to speak with this person now". Again, a simple support case and 6 different lawyers! They are supposed to be working for me, not the other way around and I should be notified by them if a new lawyer is handling my case not me finding out by trying to check the status of my case. The third point is how much time they charge you for doing simple paper work and scanning/emailing documentation to and from OC (opposing council) They will charge you .2 to .3 hours just to scan and send maybe a 5 or 6 page document to someone. That's 12 to 18 minutes! and again it wasn't hundreds of pages that they were sending most times. I could go on, however this would be too long of a review. Underhanded, schemers who lied about their services and lied about sending invoices. Then when confronted and asked to prove they sent invoices containing charges beyond the retainer they couldn't produce the emails containing the invoices! That's because THEY WERE NEVER SENT! Furthermore, once I did get invoices, which was like pulling teeth, there were ridiculous charges like charging an hour for what was clearly a form letter and other equally inexplicable charges just to fatten up the billing. Additionally, the unknown lawyer they sent to my simple divorce hearing was sloven and dressed like a homeless person. I was embarrassed she was in a courtroom supposedly representing me! I can't even begin to tell you how blessed and thankful I am to have Alan Rose represent me in my domestic violence/s*xual assault/OOP case. There are hundreds of attorney's in the Nashville area, but none possess the knowledge, professionalism and care/concern that Alan does. He doesn't look at you or your case as just another paycheck...he actually cares about you and will fight for you to receive the justice you deserve. Per my situation, the legal system has failed me time and time again over the past year. I can't even begin to imagine what I would have done if I didn't have Alan by my side every step of the way. If I had a do-over and could instead hand that hard-won $3000 retainer fee over to the Wolf of Wall Street so that he could invest me in some penny stocks, I'd do it! This guy takes your divorce about that seriously and those are the results you should expect; understand that he will become antagonistic the second you hand over your retainer fee and you should go ahead and find a second lawyer to help you dispute his future billing at this point. In short, the only thing they took seriously was my billing. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT pay them a retainer fee. They will make up the craziest BS for where that money went and your ass will be delayed for months trying to get whatever it is you needed. Like, for example, my divorce: they promised 90 days and it took nearly seven months, with two of those extra months being directly attributed to their insistence on using this shady ass mediator that got the better of me, too. When I confronted Rob about all the crap they'd bungled, I ended up getting yelled at, called stupid, and threatened with collections and interest if I didn't pay $500 that day. I cowered, like a fool, and paid, which deeply embarrasses me and I only share this fact because I don't want this clown to have the satisfaction of ripping off another earnest, hard-working father that's just trying to make ends meet and do what's best for his family. Listen, I'm a 6'2" 200lb hot-tempered maniac at times that's served over 27 months in Baghdad; these fuckers wouldn't sleep if they knew the treachery I'm capable of and the anger they stirred. Make no mistake, I am not a man of peace and make no pretensions. It'd be best if we never saw one another again... Trust me when I tell you, walking in their office was the worst mistake of my life. For some reason, their legal threats worked on me, even though I have a master's degree, served as a company commander, traveled the world, etc. Their idle threats will work on you too if you don't know what you're doing; understand this, they are your enemy. Man, I could go on forever, but in the end, I hired another lawyer to file a claim (think lawsuit) against their punk asses if they turned me over to collections. And guess what, I didn't pay a retainer fee to this guy. But how sad is it that I had to pay a lawyer to save me from my lawyer?! I seriously wonder what percentage of Turner clients get turned over to collections. Their billing is out of control; I'm telling you. You've been warned and now I've done my good deed for the day. Here's the thing; just use legal zoom and research worst case scenarios at the public library before hiring a lawyer. Not that lawyers are all the same, but they are all similar. You're gonna pay for stuff you could simply do yourself and they're not gonna win anything for you that a judge wouldn't willingly grant. This stuff isn't that complicated. Never pay a retainer fee, and look for lawyers that are desperate for work in smaller towns if you ever get in a jam and feel threatened/scared of someone like Rob Turner. Stay out of this office; I'm telling you, his threats and crazy billing caused me more stress than the PTSD I live with from Baghdad. And WHEN he does send you some crazy ass bill, don't get scared like me, man-up, dispute that shit and hire someone that's willing and able to file claim if necessary. I don't have words to describe how frustrating my experience with this law firm has been. My divorce case was supposed to be relatively cut and dry. But because I used Turner Law, I was screwed. I filed in March 2015. My case (uncontested, no children, used mediation) was not settled until January 2016. That's nearly a year, for a case that should have been settled within a couple of months. Here are my complaints: 1. Lack of communication: As another reviewer stated, calls go unreturned, emails unanswered, case being stalled. I think this could be a shady business tactic to charge the customer more money. I received notice that my original lawyer was leaving the firm, postmarked TWO DAYS BEFORE IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED I was given 48 hours to decided whether I would stay with Turner Law or follow him to a new firm. I wasn't thrilled with his services (turns out that was indicative of Turner Law more than anything) and I'd already paid so much to Turner that I decided I would stay. Big mistake. I had to pester the firm by email and phone to find out who would now be handling my case. I was assigned to a lawyer named Pete Frech. I was told he would be the one taking care of my mediation. WRONG. Late November 2015 I had mediation with A DIFFERENT LAWYER than I had been assigned. He was named Ryan Logue, Robert Turner himself, and a mediator for my divorce. It went fine. It was a week before Thanksgiving. Mr. Turner told me himself that the final hearing could possibly be scheduled and resolved before Thanksgiving. I was told to appear for court in early December. When I arrived, my lawyer, Ryan Logue, looked shocked to see me there. "You're not on the docket today," he told me. I told him this was indeed the day I was told I was to appear in court. He denied any knowledge of this. I walked to their office from the courthouse and sat for over an hour and a half until Mr. Logue arrived. Apparently, the motion HAD NOT BEEN FILED. Over a month and a half later, and this office hadn't done their damn job. See number two for more on Mr. Logue. When I finally got my final hearing before the judge. It was not Mr. Logue who appeared with me, it was a complete and total stranger whose name I am unaware of. Hell, I don't even know if it was truly the person who I was billed for. They could have sent me in there with any John Doe off the street and I wouldn't know him from Adam. My father was helping me make payments (see no. 4) and was told the account had been paid in full when his final payment was received. However, it took two more months and my final bill was received. I still owed over $500, contrary to what they told my father. See no. 3 on this payment plan business. 2. Professionalism (or lackthereof). In addition to the issues outlined above, I was matched with a lawyer (my third, but not last) by the name of Ryan Logue. He attended my mediation in ill-fitting, disheveled dress, and spent his time checking his phone, sighing while the process took too long, tapping his fingers impatiently, and speaking unprofessionally (inappropriately joking about the sexual preferences/cross dressing activity of someone while I sat in tears at my divorce mediation) during the waiting period. When I came into his office to air my grievances with the handling of my case, Mr. Logue spoke to me with a curt, unprofessional, eye-rolling attitude. He became so upset he actually had to go into the other room and ask the paralegal to come in--from thereon she handled the conversation. He could not even resolve a simple matter regarding why the hell had my final divorce hearing not been put on the books yet--in late December. This was apparently blamed on an ex-paralegal for the firm, but it was Mr. Logue's job to ultimately oversee the case and oversee his subordinates. 3. Payment. It takes too long to get billed (over 2 months for me to receive my final bill), a huge interest rate, and their "payment plan" is A MINIMUM of $500 DOLLARS A MONTH. Not all of us are lawyers and able to pay this gargantuan amount every month. That's literally half my mortgage. When I told the person who answers the phone this, he told me "Well, as long as you're paying $250 a month it won't go to collections." So truly, the minimum is $250/month. Still an exorbitant amount for the average person--it's more than my car payment. Honestly, this is the BARE MINIMUM of what went wrong with this law firm--and I can guarantee I'm not the only one with these complaints. I will never, ever, ever use their services or deal with anyone from that firm ever again. read more

This "law firm" is the WORST. I've been with them since April 2015 for my divorce case and to handle a permanent parenting plan. It is now 1/2016 and I still have yet to get ANY child support even when they promised me they were going to file a temporary child support order. My husband and I even came to an agreement back in September and they STILL have yet to file anything. Meanwhile I'm being charged left and right for duplicate and bogus tasks! This firm also has a HIGH turnover rate. I've been assigned 3 different lawyers in the past 7 months. Oh and don't expect them to tell you this information either. Wow, all I can say is this is the worst law firm I can imagine. Sueing for a measley $250 when attorney fees were awarded to my ex spouse by the judge seems ridiculous. NEVER AGAIN! I hired attorney Robert "Rob" Turner for representation regarding a very minor traffic issue. I thought Turner Law Offices would be a great firm to represent me for a simple issue, as they portray themselves as caring professionals...(What A Joke!). The entire process was a bad experience for me. After calling to schedule an appointment for the intial consultation & hiring Rob Turner (on the spot) to represent me, I quickly discovered that there is very little professionalism & integrity in his office. Rob Turner is VERY out of touch with the average working class person, almost to the point of him being arrogant & somewhat elitist. I was extremely disappointed that... anytime I called his office to ask a question regarding my case, his receptionist/assistant "Trevor" always advised that... "Rob, doesn't take anyone's phone calls". ...WTF!?! He's my attorney!!! & he won't take my call!?! ...Are you serious!?! I was repeatedly advised that they would have to schedule an appointment for me to come in person to have my questions answered, (which for those of you who are considering hiring Rob Turner for representation, ****PLEASE BE AWARE**** that his office does not offer free parking, nor do they validate your parking & the average cost to park anywhere near his office starts at about $10.00, therefore (if you hire Rob Turner) ...just know that -(if you have ANY questions regarding your case), or if you have ANY (general inquiries about your case), he will not take or return your phone call & that you will be asked to schedule an appointment...Which for me...getting a convenient appointment time was an Absolute Nightmare & a few of the appointments I had to wait 7 days or longer to see him. ---Total Nightmare!! I also had to drive to his office, (located downtown & it was typically in the middle of rush hour). ....Looking back, it's ironic that Rob Turner's staff could accept my (((credit card over the phone)))) to bill me for my legal fees, but that he wouldn't EVER personally take my phone calls. :-( I was told that I would receive a receipt via e-mail, which I called & spoke with Trevor 3 times to request a receipt & I have yet to receive his e-mail. What's even more unprofessional, is that his office e-mailed Facebook requests for his Facebook page, & that after the case resolved his office sent USPS mail to my attention (sent to the wrong address & the information inside the mailing was for another client/another case). -Which seems like a privacy violation & seems highly unprofessional! Rob Turner's staff photocopied my Driver's License (which has my address on it),...they had me complete a client information sheet during the consultation-(which also provided my address) & so it's disturbing that they still dropped the ball. The attorney's there are what give the profession a bad name. They don't do their job, we continually had to follow up and then we get billed for asking them to do their job. They also inflate their fees, double charge on their billing. Against my better judgement, I gave them my credit card to pay off the bill and even though it's paid paid, they continue to charge my credit card. Calls go unreturned,...case being stalled months costing me thousands of dollars needlessly. Have yet to go to court with "my lawyer" the two times I have been in front of a judge I have had some "junior" lawyer who got my name wrong once and is unfamiliar with my case. The "worst" law firm I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I started calling them in April about my child support letting them know my child was legally 18 and would graduate may 15th that I wanted a court date set to terminate child support. Finally after an email to the head of the firm and my lawyer I get option sent to me in late June for court dates in late July or mid August I select mid August due to out of town obligation in July,... Today I get email they can't get schedule aligned with opposing attorney and want to schedule court middle of October,... While I continue paying child support. On a child who is graduated and over 18. This would cost me an additional $4000 in child support approximately,... Not to mention their hefty legal fees. My case was similar , unanswered EMERGENCY LINE FOR OVER 24 hours after avoiding office calls, Treated like a burden when asking about my case, over $7000 PAID and dragged my case out so long that I had to cut my losses and seek legal representation elsewhere. Switched around between several "representatives of Turner" , cursed at and hung up on, rescheduling PHONE meetings (the day of, after you've waited two weeks to even have the phone meeting) because of course no appointments available in person for an even longer time, this experience has left me completely gun shy towards all attorneys and the legal system in general. I made the mistake of choosing this law firm. A divorce that should have taken about 3 months took almost DOUBLE that amount of time. Not only did my calls go unreturned, they had an employee who LOST my paperwork (it was never filed with the courts) and my ex-husband and I had to have everything resigned and notarized all over again. My court date was postponed 3 different times and I was never informed as to what was happening until after calling several times, demanding answers. On top of all that, they advertised that they were an affordable law firm. After paying the $700 fee, or whatever it was, they continued to bill me for ridiculous fees. I ended up paying over $1000 and spent almost 6 months stressing out about my divorce. I hired a lawyer to make it EASY for me but they just made it worse. Needless to say, I have not recommended them and if I were you, I would stay FAR away. read more

I had such a bad experience with this law firm. It seems like they don't have enough staff to cover the clients they are taking in. One office visit I waited over 2 1/2 hours and then appointment was with wrong person. After my husband and I signed all papers for divorce, I get a call a month later saying that person who handled our case quit and they just found all of our paperwork causing a month delay. Then day before court date they call me saying that husband has to come also, they are not sure why but he needs to be there. We get to court and judge says he had to be there because of a typo error. They also didn't put for me to have name changed back to maiden name even after it was requested. They did fix that but then I receive a bill for $1113 they charged me for phone calls about typo error they made and name change totaling $237.00. When you call about billing questions you are told they don't discuss over phone and you have to email billing department, which I did 2 weeks ago and still have not received a answer. I would tell anyone to please stay away from this law office. I feel they don't care at all about clients, you are already going through such a hard time and using them will only add so much more worry and stress.
