They both have an exceptional bed-side (table-side?) manner, and intersperse humour with professionalism, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the human body. Of late, my treatments have been entirely with Susan, and she has been amazing at finding and working out every issue I bring to her. Appointments are easy to come by, and they also don't get twisted if something happens and you need to re-schedule (although try not to do so, as this is a very small practice that has to juggle a lot of patients' needs). I'd always been afraid of acupuncture, but the good folks here helped me get over it and appreciate a new way of feeling better. Truly recommend them, whether or not you like or believe in acupuncture. You just might be surprised by it, and I'm sure the good people at NYC Points will win you over.

His knowledge and passion for healing and his spiritual and intellectual approach piqued my interest and I decided to try it two weeks ago. I went to Edward at a very stressful time in my life, I was experiencing headaches, trouble breathing and sleeping, some chest pains and slight anxiety. In my session, Edward made me feel extremely comfortable, his soothing voice kept me at ease and he was very delicate with each touch and took time to explain every single thing he was doing to my body ensuring I was ok at every step. Oh and the needles didn't hurt! :) When Edward was finished inserting the needles, I laid there for about 30-45 mins and started to feel my body relax, the headache started to dissipate and my breathing became less laborious, the slight chest pain seem less painful. By the end of the session, I felt more relaxed and sleepy than i had felt in weeks. I was already a believer, my first session was amazing. However, before leaving, Edward explained that he was going to insert 2 needles, one in each ear and I must keep them in for one week to help me find some equilibrium in my days ahead and it will help me manage my stress better. Honestly at first I was skeptical but I relaxed because I trusted Edward's expertise so far! That same night, surprisingly, I still had trouble sleeping despite the fact I left the session completely relaxed. However, by the next day I noticed my headache was completely gone, my breathing was normal and the stressful situation I was in, I noticed I remained calm and I started to manage better. This, my first and only treatment (so far) with Edward was a gift that kept on giving because during the week I noticed that my PMS symptoms were non existent and 1week later the obligatory symptoms (breast tenderness, irritation, fuzziness, etc) I usually get every month preceeding my period were not there to warn me so my period came and I wasn't even aware!!! I had a normal and perfect period in years!!! Needless to say, Edward's treatment has made me a believer and I can't wait to go back for some more treatments!!! My first two sessions ever have been with Ms. Barbato. During the first one, we discussed my interest in targeting my mid-back pain, instability and buckling behind my left knee and sugar addiction. She also dug further into some of my background. As I write this, it is nearly three weeks since the first session, and the results have blown me away. I have had no urge whatsoever for ice cream, cookies or donuts. I've had that habit for years. It's my go to snack for stress, insomnia, something on the way home from late nights out, etc. Since my first acupuncture session... nothing. No urge whatsoever. It is odd and surreal and quite awesome. I've already dropped five pounds. And, on top of that, the instability in the back of my left knee that had been there for some time is also gone. I can do squats and lunges and front push kicks again without that sharp, painful, buckling feeling. During the second session, I mentioned problems with the fronts of both knees, and I've been blessed again as both knees have improved considerably since that session. Just amazing. I am a believer now and have been urging any friends I have with lingering issues, or an interest in avoiding added sugar, to give acupuncture a shot. I had had this for two years, with limited success from physical therapy, cortisone injections and then finally cervical epidural injections in my neck. I was told surgery was my only option. As a last gasp measure, I took the advice of my physical therapist and went to see Mark T. As a physical therapist and licensed acupuncturist, Mark has extensive knowledge of the interconnections between muscles, nerves, fascia and tendons. His primary focus for treatment is dry needling, which targets "trigger points", although he uses other methodologies as needed. All I can say is my chronic problem went away. The severe shoulder pain went away first and in a few weeks, the tingling vanished. I regained most of my strength that I had lost in my shoulder. It has been a couple of years now. I continues to use this group for other issues and have also had success. So yes, I highly recommend them.
