When medical issues have required a specialist, Dr. Ellena has always gotten me in touch with best and most qualified within my current insurance plan. I was sold after my first appointment. If you live in the St. Peters/O'Fallon area, this is your guy. If you live downtown, this is still your guy. I swear he's worth the drive. I've never had a doctor pay more attention to what I'm telling him and genuinely care about what it is that I'm saying... and that's priceless. He's also a pretty funny guy who tries to be "hip" to what's going on in the world and strikes up the funniest conversations! Dr. McIntosh is thorough and knowledgeable, and he'll get you back up and running in no time. I've seen him for typical stuff such as allergies and colds, and he makes great recommendations and always gives me tips that help me feel ten times better. I even had to call the after-hours line once with a bad sinus infection (sure he appreciated that one) and he was still as caring and attentive even though I was bugging him late at night. What puts him above all others is how he follows up and doesn't give up until you've fixed whatever the problem is. For myself, the allergy queen, he prescribed a medicine and a nose spray and had me check in with him 7 days later via the phone, and we spoke that often until he had me on a plan that was working wonders. Looks like I'll be driving that 45 minutes next time I need him!

Dr. McIntosh has been my primary care doctor for over a decade. He is very personable and has an excellent bedside manner. He has seen me through quite a few health issues and always pops through when I've been admitted to the hospital. We don't have all the answers for my health problems but I can't say he doesn't LISTEN to every single one of them. He orders tests and refers me to specialists when needed. I've never felt misunderstood or dismissed which is not something I can say for many many specialists I've seen. To be fair, Auto Immune diseases are notoriously difficult to diagnose but I can confidently say Dr. McIntosh is doing everything he can to help me get answers. I would send anyone I know to see him without reservation. *Read up on Celiac Disease, doc! The amount of misinformation from medical professionals on this is criminal and a huge disservice to those who have it. Effects from celiac damage can spill over into almost every other part of your body. Celiac is for life and a negative blood test/scope (after a positive one) means you're doing well GF. it does NOT mean Celiac went away and you can eat what you wish! Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk (which I shockingly have to give to almost every doctor I've seen.)

You are not viewed as a number. Because his practice is smaller , as it is with all MDVIP physicians, Dr Z and his staff have the opportunity to know each patient and even greet you by your first name, if you so desire. A definite added positive for me is being able to have an out of town physician when I become ill away from St Louis. There is a network of physicians available through MDVIP. This is a great relief as I have become ill when out of town and either suffered through the issue (made flying less an attractive pleasure than usual or went to an ER. I'd you do have to go to the ER, Dr Z will, if you are sent home, call a day or 2 later to check on how you are doing. 5 stars all around because you are a person with a name to both he and his staff, rather than a number.

I got one sentence out, and he immediately cut me off. Told me nothing was wrong, and asked why I was in a wheelchair. He spoke mostly to my husband. Apparently women can't understand medical dialogue. I could have understood that there might not be anything he could fix, but the wheelchair comment was snide, and very very condescending. I have never before been made to feel so small. I very much feel like he was trying to use my appt to make up for how late his schedule was running. I thought even if there weren't surgical issues, maybe he could point me in the right direction. Apparently I wasn't worth the time.

As I cannot afford the bill, they instructed me to apply for their financial assistance requiring pay stubs, bank account info, credit card info, student loan info and more from both me and my wife. After collecting all this info, they declined me for financial assistance. Regarding the actual services at the hospital, they were also quite poor. After my diagnosis, I has some questions and the doctor literally told me to "google it." If you ever are in excruciating pain, I guess just google your symptoms and save the $3000. I hope this place gets hit by a meteor.

I had a very bad experience with Dr. Tariq Hassan. On March 9th 2026. at 10:00.a.m. I had a follow…read moreup appointment with him. About 10:20.a.m. The nurse called me to the back. She first checked my weight and then my community support worker and I headed to the room. I have PTSD from very bad traumatic things, I've been through. She attends my appointments with me as support for me. When we got to the room. The nurse asked my community support worker to sit on the right side and for me to sit on the left side. She then took my blood pressure and went over my medication list. After she was done. She left the room about 5 minutes later. Dr.Hassan, walked into the room. He said, Hi to me. At first, Everything was normal. He then started asking me questions. He started going over my history of, when the last time I had an endoscopy done,etc...He then asked me a question. I've never heard a GI doctor ask me. He asked me was I updated with my mammogram. I said Yes! He then looked over at my community support worker and asked her was she my case worker. She told him Yes The whole time. She was looking down at her computer doing her notes. She did inform me, even though she wasn't looking. She heard him asked me about my mammogram. He then asked me have I had any new issues since, My last visit. I told him Yes. That I've been having some right side pain. After, all the questioning. He asked me to get on the exam table. I did just that. His back was towards my community support worker so, she couldn't see what he was doing. The exam began. He started checking my glands, he then asked me to lay down on the table. He started pressing down on my stomach and then he asked me where the pain was on my right side. I showed him and then. He asked me the second time. Was I updated on my mammogram. He then. GRABBED MY RIGHT BREAST HARD!!!!! I was in shocked. I couldn't believe what he just did to me! He grabbed my right breast!!! Since, I was laying on the table. He grabbed my arm to pull me up. Once, I got up. I looked over at my Community support worker. She was still looking down at her computer. I felt so alone at that point! She wasn't paying attention! She didn't see what he had done to me. I'm ANGRY! HURT! CONFUSED! I'm supposed to feel safe at my Doctor's office. He's my GI Doctor! Not a breast Doctor! He's not my OBGYN! He doesn't do mammogram's! He asked me twice, If I was updated with my mammograms! I told him Yes and He grabbed my breast!!! I have PTSD! What he did to me has added to my already traumatic life!!! I don't and didn't deserve what he did to me! Once my community support worker and I left the office as soon as we got in the car. I told her immediately!!! I told her. How Uncomfortable I felt and that he grabbed my right breast. Even after I told him Yes, I'm updated with my mammograms! I came in for a follow up appointment and left out violated! My emotions are all over the place. I keep having flashbacks of him grabbing my right breast. I'm even upset with my community support worker. She shouldn't have been looking at her computer the whole time! She has apologized to me for not paying attention and for what happened to me but, I'm hurt! He grabbed my breast! I'm 50 years old and I have been violated by a DOCTOR!!! People might look at me as a NOBODY compared to him because, of his Profession. God knows the truth!! I will take a Lie detector test to prove, every thing, I stated is the 1000% Truth!!! I don't have a history accusing a medical professional of doing something to me. He's the only one and I'm ANGRY!! Dr. Hassan! KEEP YOUR NASTY AND FILTHY HANDS TO YOURSELF! I feel so nasty and dirty! I've never given you permission to grab my breast and I never will!!! I recommend him if you need a good gastroenterologist. Another plus is his staff, the girls behind the counter are extremely nice, that doesn't happen much at Doctor's offices.
