I am probably the exception to his patients in being relatively proactive when it comes to my healthcare and he is usually willing to place orders for whatever bloodwork and screening tests that I request when I see him to stay on top of my health. I had to push to get a CAC scan in 2019 which revealed much more coronary artery calcium than either of us would have guessed based on my other risk factors. However the medical establishment (AHA) only recognized the value of it as a tool for coronary vascular disease risk assessment within a year of my requesting the test so I certainly don't blame him for not recommending it sooner.

Also, Dr. Politis is accepting new patients, but his existing patients, such as I, have to wait nearly six months to get an appointment with him, despite being his patient for several years. Seeing a PA is mostly the person you will see once you are an established patient. I have already found a new dr. and I will have two appointments in two weeks and another one in a couple of months; 3 appointments with a Dr...NOT a PA, in 3 months, and he spent over an hour with me with my first appointment, so I am thrilled with this new change!!

I called Wednesday and asked if they were just not taking new patients but, you know, if you wanted to return my call.... The lady called Wednesday night, said it was only her and I tried to apologize but she kept talking. Stating this is part of a car accident and obviously, I need to see a different neurologist. I wondered if the doctors she works for knows how rude she is to perspective patients. Except, it's not part of an accident, it's not part of a lawsuit. Today, I called the main BJC number to see about seeing a different doctor. The lady who answered the phone said they had a referral for this office so she calls. Nope, again, the lady tells her she's already talked to me, she is NOT scheduling an appointment for my husband. I guess if he has a stroke before I can get him seen, I know who I could sue since she's now told his primary care and the scheduling lady she refuses to schedule this appointment. (Yes, I can be rude, but I also know that if a customer is irate, my job is to calm them down and try and makes things better.
