Started using this location after I purchased my new Lincoln Aviator. I would drive out with an exceptionally clean vehicle. Unfortunately 3 or 4 visits into my patronage, I rove out with one detached rear chrome window trim on the driver side and the trim on the passenger side was beginning to detach. I found this out once I arrived home. I never went back to speak about this. Fortunately, my dealer wrote it up as warranty work and did the repair at no cost to me. I suspect perhaps the forced air from the blowers? None the less, I will not go back out of concern of a repeat. This would have been a 5 star rating. Wash was great; damage was not. Can review the wash service because I never even got to that point. I had a $5 off discount from a sports fundraiser but wanted to add the $10 full service option on top of to the Ultimate Turtle. I pulled up to the entrance gates and there was no one around. The kiosk was only giving me the wash option, not the ability to add services and there was nowhere to claim the discount. I sat there at least 5-10 minutes messing with the kiosk, getting more irritated by the second as I noticed some guys standing up by the building just watching me. Did anyone walk over and offer to help me? Did they think I had sat there that long counting my change? I backed up and headed off to Fast Eddie's. I won't be back. read more

So... yeah.... it's not great. If you have the monthly service, you'll get a sticker for your windshield. The problem is that the machine that scans your windshield will be broken approximately 17 out of 18 times that you try to use it. Then you'll begin the 10 minute-long process of waiting for someone to come out and scan your windshield by hand. It's a tedious process, but you'll eventually get your car washed. It won't be super clean, and it definitely won't be dry, but you'll have accomplished what you set out to accomplish. Unless the shoe thing is out of order, which has happened to me twice in the last month. But this car wash has one huge advantage over all the others... it's on my way to work. So there's that. Would not recommend Turtle wax for getting a car wash! I paid for an exterior wash and they didn't even dry my car. I had to go home and dry my car myself. Did notice that the porters placed the drying towels on concrete when not in use. Then use the same towel to wipe down vehicles. Would rather spend the extra money and go to Fast eddies. read more

Terrible job, don't waste your money!! I brought my dually truck here a couple years ago and had it hand washed including interior vacuum and wipe down. When I picked my truck up the passenger side window was all scratched up like they had something sharp in the rag when they wiped it. I called the manager and he didn't even care at all! Today my wife and I were out and about and I thought we would give them another try but because we were in our car we opted for the drive through wash. We purchased the expensive wash that included everything because I always like to go full in and get the best experience. After we left we drove across the road to get fuel and I noticed that the tires were not shined and my automatic antenna was bent. Why didn't someone remind me to retract the antenna? I passed three people on my was to the entrance and even asked the last person in line if th eff e was anything that I should do? Once again I called the store to report what happened and the person that I talked to said he was the manager told me that if I came back they would shine the tires which is a good gesture. When I mentioned the antenna to him he said the person outside should have told me to retract it. I said he didn't and he said we do the best that we can. Now I have a bent antenna that is going to be very expensive to replace. NEVER GOING BACK!! read more

This was the first time I've been to Turtle Wax in Crystal Lake. I paid $184.00 for a total car detail (after a $40.00 off coupon). My car seemed very clean when I picked it up. When I asked about my mats, they explained that they were in the trunk and that I could put them back in after the floors dried. I waited for two days for the floors to dry and when I went to put my mats back in the car, they had not been cleaned at all. They had simply taken the mats out of the car to make the car look clean and folded the dirty mats over and put them in my trunk. They offered to to refund me $10.00, which was "twice as much as he was authorized to refund". I told him to keep it and I would write a yelp review. Needless to say I cannot recommend this establishment for detailing. read more

I have give this place enough chances. The resent visit I went there b/c Fast Eddie's closed at 6 pm so I went over to turtle wax got the most expensive wash( ultimate). When the kid was finished I walk up and the bumper and grill are still dirty which he fixes right way. But I drive off and I notice I still have bug marks on my windshield and I can write my name in the dust on the dashboard. I have e-mailed turtle wax complaining but they want me to waste my time and call them. What joke I will not give this place any more of my money. This place recently underwent a big remodel. The car wash itself is different (you stay in the car and ride through now) and they have these lanes for service once you get ou the other side of the wash. The inside is all different too, clean and nice. Pretty much everything but the coke machines and free coffee are gone, oh and there is a TV set with some daytime TV playing if you get bored. The restrooms are nice and clean, totally redone. The prices are stull a bit on the high side so look for a coupon in your mailbox before heading over here. read more

I just paid for a $30 wash and interior cleaning and am amazed at how terrible the wash and service has gotten with their new business model. I asked the young man who was detailing it whether it should be sent back through the wash and he said, "no we will take care of it". And of course he didn't. There was clumps of mud still left on my doors, quarter panels, running boards, etc. And the seats and chrome didn't even look touched. I am one who usually washes my own cars. In this case I was sort of curious on if it is worth just stopping in and getting it done. So I picked the wash that was $25, it was a full wash with an interior cleaning. First you go through the car wash, just like any other wash really. These things make me nervous as hell though, I fear the will scratch my car all up. next you pull over to a little side area where they clean the inside for you. I was asked "anything you want us to focus on?" my mistake was to reply "nope" after about 10-15min they were done and i was off to the races.. or obeying all traffic laws officer. The results were okay. I was a little bummed they only cleaned like half the inside of my windshield (this was really what i wanted focused on, but said 'nope' like a dummy". They dont get into the details of the clean, more like a general wash and wipe down. I will probably go back, this time knowing what to expect, or maybe ill try a competitor to see if they do any better. For $25, meh, take it or leave it. read more

Good wash for the price. Got my mats washed which took a little longer than I thought it would. Other than that there is free coffee and a comfortable waiting area to pass the time. I will be back. Everyone was so friendly there. Joe was the gentleman that scheduled my appointment. And he was able to squeeze my car in for this date when I have called last weekend. My car was disgusting. Dog hair everywhere. I warned them that it would take a while. I dropped it off at 8:30 and received a call at 1:30 when it was complete. I didn't expect them to get it so clean. It looks like it is brand new! They did a phenomenal job! I was in complete shock that they got all of that dog hair out of the seats! (Darnell was the service member that cleaned my car.) I took in my VW GTI to get it cleaned and got the Ultimate Turtle. I was pretty upset when I left there, 1st thing 1st they asked me to move my car because they could not move a manual car. The problem was that when I went to move it they had a soaked towel on my driver seat soaking my chair. That pissed me off, then another wet dirty towel on the passenger seat. Wanted to tell the guy to get his act straight but decided to be nice about it and see the finished product. When I was driving my car back home, I notice dirt streaks across the windshield, inside and outside. I had to clean that, also the dash. The sided of the doors still had some mud, never cleaned. I can keep going. That was a big waist of 22$s and here I was looking at there large packages and thinking oh maybe if they are good ill come back and get there 130$ package. Awesome place !! Just two days before Christmas, wicked cold outside and I pulled in with my car looking nastier than it's ever been--inside and out. These guys treated it as though we were in comfy warm weather and thoughtfully took time to clean the inside and out thoroughly . I didn't buy the detail package--just interior and exterior clean. Went there for the first time Saturday, February 28th about noon. I wasn't greeted by a person and had to guess what wash I wanted. I chose the most expensive one ($13.00) and got in line. It's just an automatic car wash. There was nothing more to it than that. When I came out the other end I got in line for the car to be wiped down and vacuumed which was another $15.00. No problem, I thought this must be when they actually clean all the nooks and crannies of my SUV. Nope! I actually had to ask a worker for a towel so I could wipe dirt off my tailgate. I left And went to Sams Club and when I got out my car was full of water streaks from the hard water that was missed when they dried the car. So for $38.00 (I gave them a $10.00 tip) I got the salt off my car and a fair (at best) vacuum job. I would recommend an ordinary wash and skip the drying but only if your car is trashed and this place is close. Go to any other car wash if you're looking for a clean car. read more

Had the interior of my car detailed here recently. I've always done it myself in the past, but thought I'd treat myself and let someone else do it for a change. BIG MISTAKE!! Once I drove off, I noticed the wood trim and dashboard VERY streaked. The navigation screen was, not only streaked bad, but had a greasy film all over it, as well as the illuminated door sill plates. The inside of the front windshield had a LOT of overspray on it from whatever they used on the top of the dashboard. It took me a good two hours to redo the interior once I got home. I emailed customer support with my feedback on my experience, but never heard anything back from them. A "we're sorry" would have been nice. These are young twenty something's detailing cars, and obviously they have no interest in making sure the work is quality, nor the experience to do this type of work. Very disappointed!! read more

Should have read these reviews before I went and wasted $23! I paid for the works and got a very sloppy job. They didn't even open the back hatch, which I made them do when I came out. It was full of soapy water! They did an awful job on the windows. I was behind a small Kia and I had to wait for them to finish her. How does it take them longer to do a Kia than an Escape? While I waited the woman came, got in, and then got out. She went to find someone and asked for a rag. The kid gave her one but didn't come over to see what it was they missed! Her door was wet. She had to wipe it herself! My tires never got done. I talked to the manager and all he offered, with a smirk on his face, was to completely redo my car. I said no thanks, I won't be back. High prices and sloppy work. Go somewhere else. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. Everytime I come here I am left disappointed. I always say I'm going to give them one more chance and they always do a really crappy job. So do yourself a favor don't bother paying the extra 10 bucks for an interior clean because they don't do anything. This time they didn't wipe anything down inside. Best external wash around. I absolutely love the fact that they provide an external only wash, somehow it also applies tire shine. I'm always nervous about careless workers being in my car and here there's no worries at all. I could get 2 car washes here for cheaper then what I would pay for one at Fast Eddies. read more

In short: after I take my car to be washed here, I always have to do a quick clean at home. Always. That's unacceptable. Today I figured I'd give them one more chance and got the Ultimate Turtle. The outside of the car was predominantly clean. There were a couple of small spots remaining on the sunroof, and the wheels could have been cleaned with more care - for sure - but again, it was fine. But inside was another story. My floor mats were soaking wet from their cleaning process, the center console and side doors were still dirty (clearly not even touched) and the interior wasn't vacuumed well; dog hair remained in the back seat. This place REALLY went downhill when it was "redone" about two years ago...now, it's nothing more than a glorified gas station car wash...granted, it's better than any gas station around...but the vibe of customer care they had was gone...I still go...and I still pay for them to clean the interior....but there was something about getting up early, getting coffee and the paper....and have someone take care of my car.....kinda like the difference between having a waiter and going through the drive-thru....you pay for the experience as much as the product. read more

I made an appointment to have my car detailed and was told to bring it in at 10:00 a.m. this morning and that it would take approximately three hours. When I dropped it off at 10:00 this morning I told them I needed to pick it up by 3:00, which was five hours later. When I arrived at 2:45 it had not been started. The young woman who was about to start it just kept saying "it's not my fault". I will NEVER go there again and I hope no one else ever does either. read more

I used to be a huge fan but now not so much. In my eyes this car wash went downhill after their big remodel.

Don't waste your time or money. Something has happened at this car wash. The management has been changed and it shows in the delivery of the product. Often you will find that functions in the car wash are not working. A sprayer here, a spinning brush there and that all adds up to your car not being washed. If you pay for the full service all the issues of the wash will be rectified by the hand drying, but you shouldn't have to pay extra for a proper wash. read more

I've had pretty terrible experience with this car wash facility after being a member for over a year! Finally cancelled my membership and I'm happy for that since each time I arrive either the "wash pass" line is down, or someone is stuck on the treads, or someone high schooler is sick of their job. It's obnoxious how many times I've been offered free interior cleaning-- but then their rags aren't microfiber so I have scratches on my cars display now. There is also paint chipping from my Aluminium hood from the rubber brushes in their car wash. Overall, save yourself the time and hassle. I will mention Joe the manager and say he tries but he has a bunch of idiots around him and broken down equipment... sorry for him. read more

I recently went to the CL TurtleWax and was very disappointed. I paid for an "Ultimate Car Wash" and although the exterior was clean the inside job was deplorable! My dash was still dusty, the interior windows and consoles weren't even touched, and the vacuuming left much to be desired. Went in for a full service wash and wax. $22.00. Asked that the wheels get cleaned. They sent a kid out with a toothbrush and a handy-wipe. Needless to say he was completely ineffective. The manager told me that was the best the we're willing to do, and recommended I have the aluminum wheels acid-dipped (right!!). The kids did not even wash the inside of the windshield. Fast Eddies had no problem cleaning the wheels. The area manager told me that he didn't have time to deal withy issue. Will I go back to Turtlewax? NEVER read more

The equipment at this location is poorly maintained. There is a brush and rinsing unit on the driver's side that has not worked for several weeks. My car has come out of the wash covered in soap on the driver's side. In addition, the self vacuums rarely work. Time to go across town to Matt's car wash. read more

I've been going to this Turtle Wax Car Wash for about 8-9 years, even though I had to drive 10 miles to get there...it WAS worth it. Sadly, now that it's undergone it's remodeling, it isn't worth my drive. It was always a little pricey, but I would use Entertainment coupons and pay $15 for an awesome car wash. Now, they no longer offer the coupons and the price for an Ultimate wash is $11 (if I remember correctly), to do the inside is another $10, and to clean my mats was another $5...for a grand total of $26. Before the remodel, the wash was incredible, and thorough, too. Adults would initially do a thorough vacuum of the car, a hand dry at the end, and spend an extended period of time cleaning windows, shining tires, washing mats, etc. Now you drive through the wash yourself, step out for a few minutes while someone, that appears to be about high school age, does a mediocre job on the windows, interior, etc...and paying twice the price for it. I agree with the reviews that the whole place may be "shinier" and the bathrooms may be cleaner, etc...but that may be partly because the place simply isn't as busy as it used to be. On a sunny day, you could wait 30 minutes to get your car done...now, when I was there, there were only 2 other customers. Sadly, I will not go out of my way any longer to use this car wash, and I imagine, others will not either. read more
