Spent a great day at the winery yesterday! My friend I was with had been married here a little over a year ago so it was a great day to reminisce on that fun time that was! We have been to Effingham last year and again the end of May. Having been to the winery about 5 years ago we make sure we stopped again each time we were in town. The wine is delicious and we have had the pizza our last 2 visits. It is very good especially for the price and is ready in just a few minutes. If you are in the mood for a nice relaxing lunch or dinner it is worth your time to stop there. read more

Wine is good, not great. Nice beer selection. Pizzas are frozen and heated in a toaster oven. Ours was still cold in the middle. Save money and buy your beer, wine and pizza somewhere else. Vineyards are very small and just for show. Disappointed. read more

Great quality wine! The food is amazing. We got the pepperoni pizza it was so yum. We couldn't see the outside because there was a wedding but they had the other side open to the public. I go to eastern and it's a good place to get away if you want a different atmosphere and quality food and drinks. They even have a bar so if you don't like wine you can get other things. read more

This is a nice winery. It has a pretty atmosphere and I liked the wine selections. Another plus is that is was one of the only ones open on Labor Day. We went there on our way home from a short weekend vacation. The staff was friendly. The only hiccup for us was that during our wine tasting we were given each taste and then left. We're used to staff staying and hanging out, telling us about their winery and the different wines. Just seemed a little cold. We also had the garlic bread and that was tasty. My favorite wine was the Tuscan Night (I like sweeter wines). I took a bottle home to share with friends. Oh and we got a wine glass with our $6 tasting. We'd go back. :) read more

This was my first time doing a wine tasting. The guy that helped us was very helpful with explaining the different wines. I went here with my grandmother and we had a blast talking to the owner. The wine here is amazing and the place is absolutely beautiful. If you have time I highly recommend stopping here for a nice afternoon trying out some of their wines. The sangria was amazing and so were many of the other wines I tasted. Bought some wine for both my grandmother and myself. read more

The customer service here really needs to be reexamined. My husband, who plays piano professionally, asked if he could try out their grand piano. The gal behind the counter said sure, and less than 30 seconds into the song, someone else turned up the volume on the piped in music so loud that it drowned out the piano. Really?? If you didn't want him to play, just say so. The people down the road and Vahling really liked it... The other gal behind the counter was extremely accommodating to my brother in law and ignored his wife as far as the tasting process was concerned. His purchased glass of wine was 3/4 full, and she barely got a third. When she commented on it, she was told the glass 'wasn't supposed to be full'. Overall, the attitude here was snobbish, and I also felt that the people there could care less about the patrons. There is nothing more fun than to chat with folks and enjoy a good glass of wine. While the setting was gorgeous and the wine tasty, the attitudes and customer service would keep me from ever going there again. read more

Pretty place but it isn't a winery. The wine was good and we purchased several bottles but it's made elsewhere and just bottled there. The guide was polite but not overly knowledgeable. It was a nice stop to break up the flat landscape of IL. read more

Talked to the owners (mother and the daughter) several times about having an event here and each owner had their own stipulations and requirements, very confusing. Aside from that, when the place is busy it is so loud you can't hear the person next to you. Customer service is hit and miss. The place feels more like it's ran as a party place for staff and owner's family and friends then a place I'd want to gather with friends for a drink. read more

We travel to St Louis about once a month. I have always wanted to stop at Tuscan Hills Winery but the time never worked out. The stars finally aligned and I'm so glad they did. This is a beautiful winery and the wine was excellent. I particularly liked the Chardonel and the pinot noir. The setting is beautiful, plenty of seating and parking. We took a day trip to Effingham to visit this winery. The weather was overcast and started to rain, but the covered seating outside still allowed us to enjoy the scenery. We thought the service was excellent, as was the wine. When we looked at their calendar of events, we definitely discussed plans to return on a Friday night when we could hear music. read more

Love their best seller "Pretty in Pink" and their "sweet Sicilian" perfect place to relax on our porches and sip on you're favorite glass of wine & they also now have a full bar anything your heart desires! Tuscan hills winery is a GREAT! The staff is very friendly, hospitable, and knowledgeable. Came in with my girlfriends to do a wine tasting 5 for $5! So much fun and we ended up buying a bottle to drink outside! My fav was the Barbera! The building is beautiful and the outside view is gorgeous! read more

I was at the Effingham art and wine festival this weekend and I approached the Tuscan hills table I was not greeted at all... A young lady and boyfriend sat behind the table, she was reading something and he was just looking bored... When I said hi and asked if she were the owner or winemaker, because I enjoy talking wine with passionate wine folks, she said "I'm part owner" then I asked how long they had been opened and she said " less than a year" her answers were short and had a rehearsed feel to them and then she went back to reading, she seemed inconvenienced that I was even there... I was invited to come here for a friends birthday party. I had never been. Who knew there was such a gem right in Effingham. Illinois!? The atmosphere is classy and relaxing. From the novelty wine gifts, the different cheeses, snacks and a wide variety of some of the best tasting wine I have ever had- I left having had a wonderful time and was very impressed. This would be a gorgeous location for a small wedding! The tastings indicated a wide range of delicious wines, although the bottle prices are higher than other Illinois wineries. We loved their slogan, "Best Effing Winery," and got t-shirts with the logo. Our favorite whites were Andiamo and Vignoles, both of the blushes were outstanding, Pretty in Pink (sweeter) and Sweet & Wild (semi-sweet, with some spice), and we bought a bottle of the Sweet Sicilian (red blend) to-go.
