My son has had issues with reading for the last year. My son is a pretty confident kid, except when…read moreit comes to reading. My son and I both dreaded reading time because he would put up a big fight. I started looking for tutors and I came across Mrs. Moxcey's facebook page (search "Reading with Mrs. Moxcey" on Facebook). After speaking with her on the phone, we met her for an informal evaluation and she created a lesson plan for my son. He currently sees her twice a week for one-hour increments. After every session, she lets us know what concepts (i.e. vowel pairs, sounds, etc) they focused on so that we can work on the same concepts when he reads to us in the evenings. In three short weeks, we've seen such a huge improvement! Reading with him in the evenings isn't a battle anymore and he's reading at a faster pace. What I like most about Mrs. Moxcey is that she really cares. I highly recommend her tutoring service!

My son was tutored here last summer. Although I specifically asked for him to be helped with math, they spent the majority of the time working with him on English and reading. What little they did in math was not enough to help him. I have been told by Dothan City Schools Special Ed teachers that the Learning Center is not very good and they do not recommend it. Wish I'd known that a year ago.
