After talking to so many other parents that experienced and are experiencing similar issues as we did. I would feel remiss to not help another family trying to make a difficult decision to either put in or remove their child from WH. WH has a beautiful property and facade, there are some good people that work there. However, that is where my praise for WH stops. There are a few main issues that I and others have had with WH that I feel should be shared. They do not give you a good idea where your child is academically. There are very few points of contact from the teachers. They send home 2 very vague progress reports a year with "WH language" by which I mean they tend to use words that are very neutral or ambiguous. The 2 parent teacher conferences throughout the year are very short, and there is little time to discuss. When I was able to meet with the teacher, they would revert to a thing my child said which seemed to divert any attention from the teacher. Every meeting we had they said the same thing, anything else they said was generic and neutral. Multiple parents that I have spoken with that left the school were astonished about how far their child was behind. They were embarrassed to not have noticed it and had to hire tutors. More importantly. There is a MAJOR BULLYING PROBLEM. The concerns that I had brought up to the teachers were actually about bullying and not academics. Again, these concerns were brushed off with generic language like talking to a politician. We were assured that a specialist was going through every class, and urged to wait for that to happen. It was months before that specialist got to our classroom, and nothing changed. Several parents have contacted us with the same issue, asking to get together so that our children can play so they can feel better after being bullied all day in school. For two years my child told me when he walked into the school that he felt "empty inside". They would come home and tell us that it was the worst year of their life. They saw a child from WH and literally ran and hid because of how they had been treated. You can see the school trying to bring in faculty to address this problem. Ironically from my experience, the faculty that were tasked with this were the same faculty that clearly had no experience in child education and were the very faculty that made my child afraid and uncomfortable to walk into the school daily. There is a yearly fundraiser for WH where they hire a professional auctioneer. There are people that pay $30,000 for a reserved parking spot, that you will never see a car in. Do you really think they would tell the parent of that child that they were bullying other children or do anything about it? What some other parents said to me rang so true. WH is more like a daycare than a school. Sure, some children will thrive in this environment, and WH will be sure to prop them up on a pedestal when contested. If for any reason you are trying to decide if you should make a financial sacrifice to give your children, then I urge you to not make this choice. WH will make you feel like you can't get an education anywhere else, and if your child leaves you are doing them a huge disservice. It is a multi-level marketing \ cult mentality. Once you see through it is nothing but BS. If this review sounds jaded. It is. The experiences I was promised from WH were all false. They claim that the older children will build the younger children up, bring up their confidence, and foster a love of learning. In reality, mine's confidence and spirit was crushed. My child was frozen with panic, forced to skip recess and lunch. These false promises go right down the extra curriculars. You sign up for a cooking class and make brownie mix from a box. Leaving the school was the best decision we ever made for our child, and they are finally healing from the years of turmoil by attending there.

Where do I start?…read more This school encompasses everything that is good about Montessori school---they teach kindness and self-sufficiency and self-directed learning. My daughter learns so much there every day. Her teacher, Nancy, is the embodiment of calm and awesomeness--she's like a Zen master! We visited another school and my three year old daughter cried through the entire visit. When we visited Woodland Hill, she was calm and happy and said, "Mom, I really want to go to school there." I love their values around sustainability, peace, and treating others with respect. The school itself is exceedingly well-run, organized, and structured (in a good way). I feel that it is the best of all worlds, and the tuition is beyond reasonable for what they offer. There's a great community of families; I haven't met one single person I don't like, and people really work together. It's fun getting to being a part of this.

My wife and I moved to Loudonville when we bought our house, and we wanted a church that was nearby…read morethat we both felt was right. We came here and really loved it. You can feel God's presence here. The people are extremely friendly and help you grow as a person, the music is okay (I prefer more classical hymns, though their worship band is good), and they have multiple times for service in case you are a morning person or a late person. They also have lots of additional activities to help you grow spiritually and interact with others, such as evening Bible studies, teen and youth groups, church dinners, quilting clubs, day-time groups, etc. If you want a nice church, come here. If you want to improve your relationship with God and others, come here. If you are lost and don't know what you want, come here.

We are so grateful we made the decision to transfer our daughter to Loudonville Christian School…read more She came from a large school district (Shenendehowa), and the difference has been incredible for our family. At Loudonville, she's receiving so much more individual attention due to the smaller class sizes, and the teachers are truly invested in both the students and their families. It's been amazing to see her grow--not just academically, but spiritually as well. She's smiling more, feels supported, and is genuinely happy. Without a doubt, it was the best decision we've made.

Heard about TVN through the parents at Toddler Time, where I have been taking my son since he was…read more18 months. Looked into it further this year as my son is not quite ready for Kindergarten in the fall, but I wanted to find something a bit more than his current 3 day a week program. On Feb 13, I reached out to inquire about the 4 & 5 day programs for 4 year olds. I received an email back from Nicole (President & Senior Parent Chair) advising that both classes were full BUT that I should pay the application fee to reserve a spot on the waitlist for the four day program list, as that waitlist was shorter, and they were expecting kids to drop after the UPK lottery was announced. Filled out all of the information, paid the application fee that day. On Feb 17, I received an email from Hannah (Junior Parent Committee Chair) that she would be giving me a tour with Diana (Education Director) and we worked out a tour date of Friday, 2/27. On Feb 20, I received an email from Hannah "We are writing to welcome you and your family to TVN for the 2026-2027 school year!" A spot had opened up and my son was accepted into the 4 day program. The email directed me to submit additional paperwork and pay a $200 non refundable tuition deposit. Which I did, the deposit cleared my account 2/23. On Feb 21 I had an email exchange with Hannah to change the tour date, I was under the impression that it was just the parents touring the school, but Hannah informed me that the Committee required my son to be present for the tour as well. We rescheduled the tour for Feb 26. Backstory - had a previously planned trip to go to Los Angeles during spring break. The trip was 2/18 - 2/24, we left our Air B&B at 2/24 on Tuesday at 9AM and did not pull into our driveway until 4AM Wednesday (2/25) morning. Thursday 2/26 @ 11:15am we had the tour, we were all incredibly tired, didn't really think too much of the timing since we had already been accepted into the school. The tour itself was a little weird as they are given during school hours, so neither the parent nor the child are able to go in to the classroom and meet the teachers due to the school's liability concerns. My son is currently in preK, he knows school as familiar place where he belongs. The combination of the jet lag and the fact that he was being forced to act unnatural in a familiar environment, eventually led to a melt down. Towards the end of the 20 min tour, Diana kept mentioning that she had to expel several children early in the 25/26 school year because they were not fitting in. In retrospect, this was probably her subtle way of telling me that she didn't believe my son was a fit for TVN, but again, we had already been accepted, already paid our tuition deposit, I didn't think anything of it. Friday, 3/6, a week after the tour, I received an email from Diana letting me know that my son was no longer accepted into the program. I emailed Diana back, explaining the 20 hours of travel the day before the tour, provided a progress report from his current teacher and asked if we could re-do the tour. Diana responded with a copy and paste of her prior email with the addition of, "The TVN Committee has reviewed your additional information but unfortunately...". A very corporate feeling template, which is weird considering we are talking about a PreK. Diana did tell me that I would get my application fee back ($100) which I did, but the school kept my $200 tuition deposit for the 26-27 school year. After this situation, I spoke with other moms who said they were afraid of even applying to TVN because of the tour. That is literally insane. This is a preschool, in the basement of a church, in a town of less than 10K people. My daughter had an easier time getting accepted into college. TL/DR: 1. Your child's spot in the TVN preK is not guaranteed. Doesn't matter if you paid the tuition deposit, or have received the "Welcome to our family" email. 2. The school tour is not really a tour for you view the school, it's a quiet way the TVN Committee can judge you and your child. 3. We had been accepted to the 4 day program by Hannah on 2/20, yet the rejection email on 3/6 from Diana implied that we were still in the application process. Either there is an extreme breakdown in communication within the TVN Committee or I'm being gaslit. 4. TVN Committee has no problem expelling students (3-5 year olds) that are deemed to be "not a good fit." This review is no way a reflection on the teachers, as I didn't get to meet them, only on the current TVN Committee and their administrative practices.

My son graduated from TVN last week and we have had a really special experience. At the beginning…read moreof his first year, his teacher sent home a questionnaire asking what our goals were for the year. I remember I wrote that I wanted him to socialize and have fun. I couldn't have imagined how much he would learn in preschool. He can count to 1,000 (he really loves numbers), and he is starting to recognize words in books. He loves to learn. I believe TVN has set the stage for a beautiful life of learning. The teachers are so kind and patient, and the staff is amazing. He has been exposed to so many new things and has had so much fun. The parents in the class form a small community and truly support one another. My daughter is starting in the fall and my baby will be starting in 3 years. I would recommend TVN to anyone. I just asked my son what he thinks of Tri-Village and he said "it makes me super super trillion happy". We love it!

Loudonville Presbyterian Church is a fantastic church!!! There's also a wonderful preschool at the…read morechurch. The church has been a pillar of the community for more than 50 years. Check out the website. It has lots of info on the good works that it supports in the local and global neighborhood. The church recently shared health and safety info about the proposed cell tower. All the substantiated scientific evidence about the impact that RF energy has on humans hasn't found any negative effect from cell towers. Look it up on the World Health Organization, American Cancer Society, and National Institutes of Health websites. Town of Colonie has cell towers all over it, including near two other North Colonie Schools, Sienna College, Newtonville Methodist Church and Preschool etc. If there was any danger, those towers wouldn't be operational.
