I cannot say enough great things about the Tutoring Club. My daughter was a year behind grade level in reading at the start of second grade and I came to the Tutoring Club for help. They assessed my daughter and prescribed a tutoring schedule that would bring my daughter up to grade level by the end of second grade. They give me weekly updates on how my child is performing in their tutoring program which allows me to understand my daughter's struggles and successes. Peter and Cindy run a great after-school tutoring program year-round! Two of my kids (in middle and high school) now attend. The tutors are highly familiar with the teacher expectations at the local schools and are very knowledgeable in their subject areas. A year ago we were looking for some tutoring for our daughter during her sophomore year. We sent our daughter for some help in math at the Tutoring Club, as we had heard so many wonderful things from some other parents. We started with Peter and Cindy somewhat late in the semester hoping to salvage a class that our girl was struggling in. Somehow, within just a few weeks they were able to help her raise her grade an entire grade level. We were so relieved and impressed. Fast forward a year, and our daughter is getting an outstanding ACT/SAT Prep course with the Tutoring Club. Peter took the time to meet with my wife and I (and daughter) and crafted a action plan to prepare for the upcoming tests that felt customized. The program is vigorous, but structured to work around her school/family/sports schedule. I can't tell you how calming it is to not have to worry about this very stressful element in our lives as we navigate this the college entrance exam maze. I've spoken with parents have used other tutoring services and the overall value we have found appears to be superior. They have two different locations. The location at 17th Street/Irvine Ave. is very open and bright. It appears to be geared towards the younger kids. The second location is across the street from Bob Henry Park. This location is set up for the high school aged kids with more privacy and it is very quiet. Obviously we are big fans and would recommend the Tutoring Club to anyone in need of tutoring help. ----------------------------- Updated 4/27/2017.......Our daughter received her ACT results and her score improved by 7 points resulting from the ACT Prep. They provide the kind of attentive service that goes way beyond simply helping with skill and techniques. Peter, Cindyand Nicole are great! The tutors really care about the success of the students and have been patient with my special needs son.

Because our son is enrolled in a tough curriculum we used TutoringClub over the summer and we're very happy. Peter and his wife accommodated our son's Junior Guards' schedule and even opened up their facility an hour early on several Fridays. Our 5th grade son prefers twenty-something, male teachers and Peter was more than happy to oblige. Tutor Paul, who's been accepted to UCLA Law, was great. Now that school has started, we notice a clear improvement in our son's reading and writing. As promised, TutoringClub moved him up one full grade. To be sure, our son worked hard during those two hours (you earn tokens and can buy goodies like a Fun Zone arcade) but his hard work has paid off. He wasn't smiling when he got out of the car, but he wasn't fussing either. We focused on reading and writing, but saw kids of all ages, some from our school, doing math, SAT prep, etc. We're going back next summer. If they still have a prepaid, package rate, take advantage of it. read more

But ever since she started tutoring club, she looks forward to reading and will choose atleast three books for us to read every night. My son has been attending here for about 3 years. I was hoping to increase my son's interest in reading with help from Cindy and Peter, but at the same time I was afraid it wouldn't work out because he was only 4 years old... imagine an office with studying tables without any stuffed animals and "reading corners" for little kids... but that's what I wanted, and the owners and the tutors increased his power in liking to study and also gave him discipline in sitting down for an hour... that's right, an hour, without him crying and getting bored.
