My first grader was struggling with a fully virtual curriculum last year, so I reached out to several tutoring centers to help her achieve her academic goals. I wanted my daughter to progress with her class, and knew tutoring was inevitable in order for her to do so. We chose Tutoring Club because they had a free diagnostic evaluation and at the end of the evaluation, I was able to sit down and see my daughter's scores, and they discussed with me how they would use their proven methods to help her succeed. I was presented with a well laid out and thoughtful plan, which was better than the other centers we visited (including those where we paid for diagnostics). The previous owner was excellent, and met with me before and after sessions to help me support my daughter's learning at home. We set my daughter up in a 3x/week plan, and I met with her roughly every 6 weeks to see how my daughter was doing reaching her goals. Within a month, her first grade teacher told me she was seeing remarkable improvement. Over the summer, management changed, and the new director is equally wonderful. She's a former teacher herself provided me great insight into the standardized tests at Duval County Schools and helped me reorganize my daughter's tutoring schedule to focus on math after seeing her test scores. Dana and all of her staff are truly awesome. I can spend a whole day just talking about how wonderful the Tutoring Club is. My son at the time was in the third grade making a low C in math and had a really poor outlook on school. Within a few weeks his teachers at his school as well as his father and I started to see a different side of him. We all started to see that he was definitely more focused and more excited about doing his math and within a couple of weeks after starting the Tutoring Club his grades started to improve, not only on homework but class assignments as well as his testing. the Tutoring Club is tutors best kept secret. my daughter was struggling really bad with reading in the 1st grade and Mrs. Dona and Mrs. Kathy were super helpful and kept it 100% real with me on what needed to be done to help my daughter do better. They were able to help her get on track and she was able to go on to the second grade. I love this place so much so that my daughter is still going there for tutoring and now I have my 10th grade son going there for tutoring as well. Both Mrs. Dona and Mrs. Kathy treat each children as they were their own. it's more than a business for them. they accept no none-sense and set the standard for your children as though they were their own, and I love that about the Tutoring Club. This place teach children techniques to make them better students and ways to learn to understand not how to just memorize and brain dump. I can't express enough how great a place this is. My son struggled in math. Relocating from another state presented a little anxiety for him. My son has been struggling with Reading, Writing, and Math since Kindergarten. He's now in 3rd grade and began this school year still reading on the kindergarten level. Tutoring club has helped my daughter bring her grades up in math and reading. My daughter is in the 2nd grade but she was a grade level behind in reading and just at grade level in math. I had enrolled her in school interventions the first half of the year but that didn't seem to help much. After one 9 week quarter at Tutoring club she has surpassed her math level and on track with her reading level, the teacher has called me personally on two separate occasions because she was so impressed. Tutoring club on San Jose Blvd is a really great place! They are very hands on and treat each child as if they were family. The tutors there are amazing! They work with each child to pinpoint what their weaknesses are and then work on those until the child has great skills in the material.
