Finding a tutor in Los Angeles was much more complicated than I expected. As someone who values…read moreeducation I did not want to hit a tutor for someone in my family without doing my best to ensure they were the perfect tutor for the job. I searched high and low (including online tutoring sites that let you choose your tutor) the outcome was fruitless. Tutors who swore to have years of experience either were not as familiar with the material as they claimed or could not eloquently TEACH it. Also, the companies that charged ridiculous amounts like $150/hr did not show much for it. I know this because when trying Tutor Me LA, I also hired another tutor from a high-end tutoring company and Tutor Me LA's tutor was not only cheaper but MUCH MORE proficient. We needed a few tutors - A gmat tutor, LSAT tutor, and a Math tutor. EVERY SINGLE tutor Tutor Me LA sent over was great. Their Guarantee took any hesitancy we had about scheduling a session and now I see why. This place offers outstanding service and their tutors are just fantastic. Do your research. Make sure you find a tutor that can commit. Call this place first :)

Tutors by teachers is the best deal you can get. I've tried other tutoring companies but tutors by teachers stands out in terms of pricing, quality, convenience, and overall performance. It's the only institution that truly helped my children improve their scores as well as their confidence. Throughout their time with tutors by teachers my children were able to boost their reading and math skills/scores. I found it extremely helpful to have the one on one rather than group tutoring session because they got more attention and time to tackle their weaknesses. They are also much more organized and personalized compared to other tutoring companies. The best part for tutors by teachers at they have qualified, caring, actual teachers who are familiar with education in the system and the standards. We recently moved to Frisco, TX where I find the public school systems spectacular. We still send my daughter to after school program in Frisco known as Kumon. Its good, but it is nowhere near the enrichment and educational experience Prep Academy provided my daughter. Ester and team were truly professional and caring towards my daughter's well being and academic growth.

"Prep" Academy is one of the worst places you can enroll your child in. The head of this academy…read moreand his wife are very demanding people that actually very strict and play favorites. My child, being in the preteen age, found that after a month or so of enrollment, was limited to many things. First, in whatever competition they held, the younger kindergarten kids would be favored or the high schoolers. If your child is in the 5th grade to 8th grade range, don't enroll them here. They will get very few access to their phone or the crappy computers, the wifi, time to ask their classmates questions, or even talk. Everything is just disastrous. I would say that Prep is a very low quality area, both physically and educationally. The classrooms are poorly spent upon, and so are the vehicles and the area in general. If you ever see the head's children, though, you will see that the family treats themslves to all the fees made from the student'/ monthly payments. My child describes it as a "prison". BEING SAID, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE.

He would say "you could also look at this..." to alert her of alternative ways to find an answer. He does assign homework and things to memorize. He's not demanding, it's your choice to listen and follow. My child's success was at stake so we did as we were told. She was very comfortable and saw each lesson as a path to new math discoveries. Derrick made it interesting and she always left empowered. Her parting comment "wow, time really goes by quickly"... who says that after an hour of math?! Sign of a good teacher.

It's important to keep up with the program and do the outside work, which is minimal, but with a little effort this program is incredibly effective.
