Dear Yelpers, I…read morewanted to share our experience with Ms. Jennifer, who has helped my 3rd grader (now 4th grader) to enjoy writing and reading comprehension along with improvement in his grades over a span of just 10 weeks (with 1 hr tutoring 3x per week) and over zoom!! Since the shelter in place occurred with the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, my son required more support in school assignments and homework. He is a good student overall and I grew concerned when I saw that he scored a 68% on a reading comprehension assignment. I then tried to help support him myself, but quickly realized it became too stressful. It was at that moment when I saw his frustration, that I recognized we needed a tutor. Hiring a tutor was one of the best decisions I have made because my son gained knowledge in writing skills and tips in reading comprehension, all while enjoying and learning new skills. At the end of the school year, he had a reading comprehension test and scored a 95%! We were all so proud of him and I have no doubt Ms. Jennifer taught him skills which he used to achieve this score. If you are looking for additional support for your child, I would highly recommend Ms. Jennifer because she is truly a gem. She is not just a tutor, but she genuinely cares about your child and will create lesson plans specifically geared towards your child's interests and skill level. For instance, she knew my son enjoyed playing basketball and in one of her sessions, she selected an article about his favorite basketball player, Steph Curry. He was so excited to have lessons with her and looked forward to learning.
