Mike was hands down the coolest, most relaxed instructor.

VTEC has moved to 340 Gorham Road, South Portland, ME on the top floor…read more The new location is a construction site at this time. It looks like they moved in while the space was being renovated. Any walls that were not preexisting are half finished, with exposed metal studs, and one layer of Sheetrock and no sound proofing. I took the Cisco CCNA test through Pearson. The testing room is fine, but the HVAC is a bit noisy. The computers are good enough, but the computer screens are wholly inadequate for the CCNA test. The computers have 15in monitors. These are fine for simple multiple choice questions, but unbearable for scenario questions that require the tester to open 4-8 windows withing the testing environment to analyze router and switch configs, and perform other diagnostics, then have to find the window that has the question on it under a pile of other windows. VTEC needs to update their testing computers, especially the monitors to 19in at a minimum, if not 24in for tests such as Cisco CCNA and others that require the juggling of multiple windows, or have large graphics or windows that are bigger than can be handled by a 15 in screen, without scrolling or constantly moving the windows. My next test will NOT be at VTEC if I have any choice, at least not until the renovations are complete.
