We have so much fun dancing and twirling around! This class is so fun, kids learn all the basics and have a blast while they do it!

I was worried my toddler would be too young to benefit from classes at The Tutu School but I happy to report that I was wrong and this was just what she needed. She is 19 months old and the youngest age group of classes offered touches on all key developmental skills that we are working on at home. Coloring, bubbles, story time, stretching, music, movement, listening... this class goes far beyond dance, keeping my little one excited and engaged to learn more! Teachers are lovely and making up missed classes is a breeze. I highly recommend anyone with a 18+ month old tiny dancer to check out the Tutu School!

Bubble fun

We recommend Tutu class with Ms Maggie she is amazing and the little ones have a great time.

They take the time to look at you, what you're doing, and help you learn, adjust, and get to know your body more. I'm an unlimited member, but the $25 per class (or whatever it is), is the best way to spend $25 in San Francisco. Not exaggerating. Jess is such an experienced coach. She moves like water. She watches your body, and understands how it works. She makes hands on adjustments. Being in class with her - I truly feel like I'm with a professional-grade artist. Power Barre is a must, for any dancer, any fan of Pilates, or anyone who just wants a lean, toned dancer bod. And Pop Jam is so much fun. I've also taken Jazz Funk with Tashi, which is the BEST way to start a Monday. It's beginner friendly, but you learn technique. She's fun, lively, hilarious. Every single person is beaming when they leave her class. Drenched with Anna is also a pleasure. She's a delight to watch. A true athlete in her flow. It's a real workout! Belly Dance with Andrea was a surprise to me. I had no idea what Belly Dance was until I took this class. As it turns out, Belly Dance is like a mix of Pilates and Booty shaking. I didn't think I could move so precisely, but Andrea is such a good teacher, and so good at explaining the moves - I believe she can teach anyone how to Belly Dance. She has a thorough understanding of the history, the culture, and the artistry. Hip Hop with Mahi - the most energetic ball of fun there is. She's effortless. Drenched with Diamond - another great workout, and a delightful way to spend a Saturday morning. I love to take my girlfriends and get brunch in Union Square afterwards. Also, the Rae Studios Showcase was SO much fun. You get training in how to perform as a group. The adrenaline is intoxicating. There are people who do four per season, is how fun it is. How many opportunities in life are there to perform? Rae Studios makes this accessible to everyone. The world is tough right now. We could all use a little more dance and light in our lives. Check out Rae!

You will need to ring the studios for them to buzz you into the building and take the elevator up to the 7th floor. Beware, the elevator can take a hot minute, so get there early! There is usually a receptionist that can help check you in, but you can also self check-in via their tablet in the bigger room. That room also has a dressing room for those that need to change clothing. There is a key for the bathroom. There is a waiting room and cubbies to place your stuff and high end water fountains. I'm glad that Rae studios has partnered with Wellhub/Gympass, This week I took a regular kpop class with Oche for the first time. I have done the performance workshop series with Fran last fall. Both Oche and Fran are great teachers, super energetic, thorough warmups and always checking in if we have questions on the choreography. Also both are super stylish!! Typically, you can see what song is being taught on Rae Studio's Instagram the day before the class. I've also taken several of the free kpop classes at Civic Center with Fran. For the free class, it is on the other side of the outdoor gym. It can get loud during events nearby, but Fran does her best to be loud and clear. As for the performance workshop, it was fun but the day of the performance was quite chaotic. The lights were different than how it was during the rehearsal runs and it was super disappointing when the music cut out. On the bright side, I felt like our group got to know each other well and even held a potluck together! I probably won't do another performance workshop series anytime soon, but will definitely keep coming to the regular and free classes.

It's well worth the price knowing that you are investing in one of life's best activities, and will quickly launch you out on the dance floor of the myriad Bay Area ballroom floors and club venues you never knew existed. The lessons are most efficient if you do find some places where you can dance socially and put in the practice miles. Guaranteed fun and friendships. AM also has a monthly calendar of classes and events that are included with lessons. Great exposure to dancing with other students and teachers. That's when I met Andrew, the instructor who would guide me through this unexpected journey. From our very first lesson, his patience, skill, and encouragement helped me begin building something I didn't know I was capable of: confidence. As the weeks turned into months and the months into years, I've not only learned to dance -- I've learned to express myself, to push past fear, and to embrace joy. But Arthur Murray has become so much more than a dance studio to me. It's a sanctuary. A place where laughter echoes louder than doubt. A space where I've formed real, meaningful friendships and become part of a community that celebrates every step, no matter how small. Yes, the cost of lessons may seem steep. But what I've gained -- the confidence to move through life with rhythm and self-assurance, the friendships built on shared vulnerability, and the joy of dancing away life's heavier moments -- is truly priceless. This studio has not only taught me how to dance; it has helped me rediscover who I am.

I was excited to check out this studio, as I always like varying my fitness routine and trying something new. I arrived a bit before my friend and spent an embarrassing amount of time searching for the entrance, but I eventually found my way. The instructor, Kriya, was very welcoming, and the atmosphere felt friendly and inviting. Once class began, we spent a solid chunk of time warming up and stretching. Then Kriya led us through a variety of moves, some of which I'd seen before, and a short choreography routine at the end. I definitely felt a bit rusty on the pole, but I was happy to see that I've gotten stronger since the last time I took a pole class, as climbing the pole felt almost effortless. Will try a beginners pole class again at another studio or with a different instructor.

We were looking for dance lessons for our wedding, and our recently married friends suggested…read moreAmore. They had done a cheesy, but cute dance at their own wedding, so we thought we'd give it a shot. I set up a private lesson, and asked specifically to be taught the fox trot-not a routine, just the basic steps so we could get down to some Sinatra in style. The 'private studio' mentioned on their website is actually this woman's apartment; no big deal; one of the rooms is converted into a studio. Even though we'd asked for foxtrot lessons, the first thing she does is start teaching us the EXACT SAME DANCE our friends did at their wedding. We should have just run away then, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt and reminded her that we just wanted to learn some basic foxtrot moves. She proceeded to search for foxtrot on youtube. We spent the next ten minutes watching her attempt to learn foxtrot by watching youtube videos of it. Then she taught us some bastardized version of the steps--I could even tell from watching over her shoulder that it WAS NOT FOXTROT. I was so disgusted by Cela's unprofessionalism: first, trying to recycle our friend's wedding dance (which I imagine she teaches to EVERY couple that comes in the door), and then not even bothering to be honest with us that she didn't know the dance we wanted. She could have said so when I emailed her; but clearly, her idea of customer service is to teach the same canned, cheesy-ass dance to everyone. DO NOT GO HERE. IT'S A SCAM.

Her dance studio is a room in a muti-tenant home in north beach. She seemd very pleasant upfront and came up with a cute beginning freestyle dance for a song we picked out and her price was good. The second (and last!) lesson is where I had major issues. She was very condescending throughout. In fact when I got a bit irritated with her tone of voice, she suggested we stretch to relax. Ok...fine..worked for a bit, but she seemed to get worked up everytime I would mess up a small step or hand motion of the dance I was JUST learning. I'm a physician, not a full time dancer...hence the dance lessons for our upcoming wedding. I expected to be taught some basic dance moves with the understanding that I had not done this before. The issue here is her lack of patience with the dance students. We are not professional dancers and came in with the thought that we would be instructed, not criticized at every "turn." She has an incredibly condescending demeanor and agressive tone, which behooves me in such a service oriented profession. We really did enter this thing with an open mind and have now decided to go with someone else. There are way too many dance instructors on yelp with 4-5 stars...trust the reviews. Oh well...live and learn.
