They hold fundraisers which go toward the dancers and competition teams. The events are also very family oriented. My older kids love attending them to watch all the performances with lots of fun activities and many vendors. Ray Of Light dance studio has a special needs hip hop dance class which I find amazing because not many dance studios I know offer this. Our team just had their first "Epic" dance competition where my daughter and her team won 2 awards, one for taking 2nd overall in the competition and the Confidence is Key Award! A friend of mine was participating so I went to attend it. I thought I will check out her performance, meet her and will come back but I stayed there for the entire event. Their dance performances were soooo good. Overall 10-12 dance groups performed. Toddlers, kids, youth, and adults all were part of different groups. I was amazed that they could train toddlers as well. It is one tough job, I must say. Kids danced well and co-ordination was good. It was surely difficult to teach them as well. Dances by youth were great and it was apparent that they were their students from a long time. Dances by adults were good and most people in the group had never performed in their entire life. Now this is surely a motivation to learn to dance ;) There were 3 performances by their advance students and they were mind blowing. Their moves and performances were so mesmerizing that you will have no idea about your surroundings and time. I loved all of their performances and will surely join them in future. To my delight and amazement, Reshmi and Mahi, her company partner, squeezed us in on the incredibly short time crunch. We had 5 lessons and the entire process was fun, enjoyable and SO worth it. Mahi and Reshmi are patient, friendly, and their passion for dancing and helping people genuinely comes through in their lessons. They listened to us, made suggestions on different steps and always gave me and my fiancé constructive criticism. I was also blown away by the variety of dances Reshmi and Mahi are trained in: from salsa to Bhangra, western, formal, and waltz, they make everything look good! When my daughter was accepted into the prestigious San Francisco Ballet, we saw firsthand that this level of intensity is standard, if not harsher. Some instructors there were even more cutting, including sarcastic remarks like telling my daughter to "eat more fish to help her brain," implying she was not smart. That is the reality of elite training. What people often miss is that Heba genuinely cares. She has continued to mentor and support my daughter well into adulthood, my daughter is 18 now. My daughter's acceptance into SF Ballet did not happen by accident, it came from the strong, disciplined foundation Heba built. Strict does not equal mean. Then came covid in 2020 and I stopped dancing entirely up until 2024 where I had to start over again and luckily I found Hermosura Dance Productions (HDP). I've been taking bachata classes at HDP for about 6-7 months now and I must say that Helen is a fantastic teacher! She focuses on building a strong foundation to make you a better dancer which other schools just don't teach which I wish I had engrained in me when I first started dancing. On top of the fundamentals, Helen teaches nice patterns that allow you to dance with people of different levels (as a leader, this has been great!). She also provides constructive feedback during class to help you improve your dancing as well as understand how it is danced (e.g. in bachata you are pushing the floor with your feet). I highly recommend going to HDP for classes or tailored lessons, depending on your needs. Helen teaches many styles of dance from salsa on 1 (and on 2), cumbia, bachata, and rueda. Even if you've never danced before, you will be welcomed to class as if you were a regular so don't be afraid to sign up for your first class!

Like others have said, the performances are not mandatory and the performance fees are reasonable. Also, their monthly tuition fees are reasonable as well. I honestly have nothing but positive things to say about Radiance. They are organized, communicative, and the teachers are great. One thing that is great is that they maintain an online shop of ballet gear - leotards, shoes, tights etc. It makes it so easy on the parent to order the item instead of hunting it down in different dance shops!
