The restaurant is divided into two parts depending if you're there for the á la carte or the fondue. I get the feeling that the fondue concept is something that the restaurant (unfortinately) has taken to attract more customers as their á la carte menu is way above the ordinary prices in Karlskrona.
The fondue is served in another room and, even though we didn't have fondue) the room was not even close as cosy as the one for á la carte.
The á la carte menu-room was carfully (over-) decorated with marine objects but gave the room a romantic touch to it. We decided to try the recommended menu "from north to south". The starter was rösti with sourdough bred with whitefish roe and sourcream. It was really good, nothing particular and quite a big meal for a starter. We had the delicious Carlscrona pilsner with it!
For main course we had the veal fillet "Oscar" with truffles and lobster on the side. This dish was really good. Exspecially with the perfectly friend potato wedges and choron sauce. We had a red cabernet-sauvignon with it.
For dessert we had swedish cloudberry with vanilla ice cream. iT was good but not something over the top.
I decided to rate it a 3 but the atmosphere and the friendly waitress kicked the degree up to a four! read more
