The store is well known in Sheffield and further afield, and its reputation speaks for itself. It's won quite a few high profile awards, and has been in Sheffield since 2000. There is also an online store that I have reviewed separately, but it quite useful as new brands get added right away, allowing me to check it before I go into town to visit the store. A cut above the rest really, and I end up going in far too often and spending too much!

It's definitely up there with the best of men's stores in the North that I have visited.

T-shirts are mainly simple and branded across the chest but a few unusual prints can be found. Accent appeals to blokes who like to spend a bit of dosh on their clothes, with jeans priced between £80 and £350, with a few unusual cuts and detailing. There are quite a few vintage-style checked shirts and polo shirts but personally I'd go for real vintage every time...and it's about a third of the price. The kids' clothing pushes the prices from pretty steep to completely unjustifiable! Who the heck would spend £150 on an Armani zip up top for an 8 year old boy??? Wrong wrong wrong! Or for that matter £70 for an Armani baby grow for a 6 month old? Clearly not many people as it is now half price! Phew!

It's all very smooth and chic when you walk in, the staff will ask you if they can help, you'll decline until you spot some denims on the very extensive jeans wall, and then you'll need their help as you aren't Stretch Armstrong. Moving further back into the shop and there's a selection of top half wear, in the form of t shirts, polo shirts, hooded tops and jackets, in a variety of brands from Lyle and Scott, Replay, Nixon, Barbour, Ringspun and many more. This particular shop is menswear and kids clothing, upstairs is the more tailored area for those who like to be suited and booted at places that aren't Burtons or Marks and Spencer. Back left of the ground floor, which has some of the cutest baby/kids clothes, but also some of the more expensive I've seen; Armani baby grow @ £60. Oh and for novelty value, I once saw a jacket in there made entirely from paper. Check it out if you want a pick of designer clothes expanding beyond the usual.

Actually, it's full of foreign tourists as well, this being York, all wanting a slice of classic, rugged British outdoor wear. Brands include Barbour - of course - Viyella, Magee and Loake. They can literally fit you out from top to toe, from shoes or boots and socks to classic Christy and Olney hats and caps. The nice thing is that the staff are very friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable, and the prices actually pretty good for this sort of lifetime-lasting quality. The shop is quite small, but a great place to browse. They also do a mail order service.

Due to concerns I did some more research and discovered that uktweedjackets.com (formerly uktweedjacket.co.uk) has the same physical address as a company called Oakwood Tailors. I found many consumer complaints (some quite recent) about orders taking months and months and repeated false promises being made that orders were about to ship. Personally, over the past 8 days I have been promised that my order would be put in the mail within the next week. I am very troubled.

I had three staff members tending to me and both my girlfriend and I were offered a complementary cappuccino! We were given a tour of all of the new items and the items were catered to what he (I didn't catch the employee's name) thought I liked based on what I was wearing. He was super friendly and helpful. We were really treated while trying out different pieces of clothing. It worked! I ended up purchasing a black hoodie (which fits me perfectly, is extremely comfortable and looks awesome), some new jeans (Razor type, I believe) and a super soft green pullover jumped. Two thumbs up to this designer. Note: This is the first Denham store in the UK! The designer is supposedly very highly regarded in the industry.
