Purchases benefit the Humane Society of Sedona and no tax is charged to customers because this is a not-for-profit. I know what you may be thinking, but think closer about it... No matter how exclusive a world-renowned community may be, it may be especially prone to having displaced pets longing for a permanent home I don't know. But I do know that domesticated animals don't think about city, state, manmade borders, they just want to go home. The good citizens of Sedona apparently realize this and donate some really cool clothing and household items here that others, less fortunate, might have no choice but to sell for personal profit.

I do enjoy the crate like shelves I thought they added good character to what otherwise is just a warehouse space. My biggest complaint is that when we were there the a/c didn't seem to be working well. It was too hot to spend a lot of time browsing or hunting for that great find. This thrift store was such a cute little find! It was a fun spot to browse, and I enjoyed taking my time looking through everything. The clothing section wasn't huge, but what they had was decent and well-curated. I really appreciated that the pieces were in good condition--no noticeable stains, holes, or overly worn items. Pricing for clothing was very reasonable, which made it even more worthwhile to dig through the racks. The household items and furniture, however, were priced much higher, with some pieces ranging into the hundreds. One big downside is that there's no restroom on-site. If you need one, you'll have to walk over to the tractor shop next door--which, while not terrible, is definitely inconvenient. Overall, I wish they had a larger clothing selection, but the quality, pricing (on clothes), and overall charm still made this a pleasant stop.

I have gone 5 times now in the past 3 months and think they are pretty much equal in a lot of areas. So here's a pro/con list. St Vin Goodwill Pricing is pretty equal on clothing Selection is better at goodwill meaning they have waaaay more items. -goodwill is open till 9pm every single night; st vin is not open at all on fri sat Sun. St vin doesn't have as much to offer people under the age of 30; goodwill does. But one thing does put st vin above goodwill for me... they are not lying to the general public as a non profit. Please. Goodwill takes in more money than most businesses in cottonwood. But because of a loophole in the laws, goodwill says it provides job searching assistance to the community so it is allowed to be a profitable non profit business. The "job research center" they are talking about, is 2 or 3 computers in the back that at one time, people could use to fill out applications. First, everyone and I mean everyone, knows someone with a computer they could ask to borrow to do that if they don't have one themselves. The public library has always let people use their internet and computers free so it could have been done there. The computers im talking about at this goodwill are used to hold clothing items, they are not even in use. And I'm there 5 days a week multiple hours each time and it's been over a year since they were used to look for a job. It's just a lie to hold their status. Cuz if I was making hundreds of thousands of dollars every month, I wouldn't want to give up my non profit status either. So yes I do shop there because of a selection, but I never ever ever donate to them. Let's face it these are items that most people think of us trash they are throwing them away. Goodwill takes those items and charges a huge amount for them and then doesn't have to be taxes or anything on it. I've seen clothing with stains and rips and blood and whatever else you can think of in there. Only Goodwill has the gall to charge $30 for a stained or ripped coach bag when you can get the same bag on any reselling site like Poshmark or Mercari, it will have no stains no rips and will be less than they will charge us for it. So I prefer St. Vincent for these reasons.

I can't say how pleased I was with the many choices to choose from. There's 2 other Anima stores I didn't go into. They are owned by the same people. But this would always be my choice to visit due o the bead selection. The staff at the counter were very polite, and I will return to this store when I go back to Flagstaff.

I started to the right and wandered towards the back of the store. There was a portion of the wall presenting Tools. Pliers ranging from $6.99 to $14.95, memory wire, bees wax for $2.99, one-stop loopers, a Bead Smith Tool Set for $59.99. Plus, an exotic assortment of beads. Czech glass beads hung on strings ranging from $3.00 to $8.00. A few other types of beads you'll find here: Chinese crystal, Swarovoski crystal, vintage German glass and miracle beads. Beads of all sizes are arranged in the middle of the floor, in boxed sections, including two-inch beds as well as miniature plastic bags of multicolored seed beads. The store is bright, spacious, well-lit, decorated with imported merchandise. There was a little area where you could sit down and fill the tube up with beads. The sign read: Assorted Glass Bead Mix for $2.50 a tube or .25 cents each. On one section of a brick wall, on the left side of the store, in front of the window and beside the cash register, was handmade jewelry by local artists, mostly earrings, necklaces and sets. Prices of this jewelry ranged from $8.00 to $55.00. If you're not into the beads there are other objects of desire: There is Putumayo world music, with a listening station to sample the CDs, tapestries that are made of 100% cotton, for $22.50, made in India from a company called India Arts, and imported furniture, mostly cabinets, in the back, from $395 to $495. But the real niche product: a gallery of beads you'll never find anywhere else.
