I love the ride but the ride op was letting 4 trains of fast pass which is not the policy Dylon b it the ride is great

Behind Goliath, this was my second favorite coaster in SFOG. As the previous reviewer mentioned, it is a Rocky Mountain Coaster project where they basically take out the rough wooden coaster track and update it to make it a way smoother ride. One of my coaster buddies is obsessed with RMC and told me it was a must ride. I'd have to say I agree! I can definitely see why it's a park Favorite! read more

Twisted Cyclone is my FAVORITE ride in the park, and another plus is that it's conveniently located at the front of the park. A downside to this ride is because of it's location, it's usually the most busy ride especially during opening ride. It's also one of the flagship rides, which makes the ride busier than other rides a good bit of the time. Fortunately, the lines lessen as the day progresses so you should definitely check it out maybe as the last ride of the day. Twisted Cyclone was introduced in 2018 after a long regime of the original Georgia Cyclone, which was a classic wooden coaster. Though there were mixed reviews of the Georgia Cyclone, I still would have given that ride 4/5 just because I'm such a huge fan of wooden roller coasters. You get a little bit of everything on The Twisted Cyclone. The exterior is a wooden roller coaster but it added steel tracks, making it an overall smooth experience. There are also loops -- something that's difficult to see in wooden coasters! The ride itself is extremely smooth -- perhaps the smoothest coaster in the park. Of course, after a few years, we will have to see with the wear and tear, but the ride gives you quite some airtime, and the thrill is incomparable from the original wooden coaster. Despite its height, I personally think it's better than Goliath. After attending the park for nearly two decades, maybe I've just had enough of Goliath, but this ride has a better overall experience and it was the perfect addition that the park needed. read more

Twisted cyclone - The Twisted Cyclone Rollercoaster. - Amusement Parks Near Me - Austell, Georgia

Twisted Cyclone is only the second rollercoaster I've ridden that was created by Rocky Mountain Construction, a company beloved by coaster fanatics from near and far. And it's the first RMC coaster I've ridden that wasn't originally an RMC coaster. See, besides building scream machines from the ground up, RMC has made a name for themselves by taking old, rough, unpopular wooden rollercoasters, ripping out the tracks, and a certain portion of the supporting structure, then adding more support beams and steel I-beam tracks for a much smoother, more exhilarating ride experience. They give you elements that would be impossible to perform on one of those old wooden dinosaurs, too. Like Twisted Cyclone has 3 inversions and takes you completely sideways a couple of times, too. Throw in some airtime hills and TC is a blast of adrenaline, a well-rounded coaster experience. Now, some people who've ridden lots of RMC say this is the worst of the RMCs. I'm not gonna doubt their opinions, and I can only compare Twisted Cyclone to the Goliath at Six Flags Great America. (Not the Goliath that can actually be seen from this coaster. Six Flags names it's roller coaster in much the same way that George Foreman named his sons.) And that other Goliath, several states away is bigger, badder and more thrilling than this here Cyclone. But if TC is really the worst RMC, my eyes kinda bug out at how great the rest must be. Cause Twisted Cyclone is an absolute blast, in my opinion the second best coaster in this park after Goliath. That's Georgia Goliath, not Illinois Goliath. It's short, granted, and somewhat diminutive in size compared to a lot of coasters, but TC really packs a punch. And given that RMC refurbished a coaster that was pretty short in track length in the first place, I'm not sure how much you can hold ride duration against them, especially when it absolutely whips it's way through the course. I rode Twisted Cyclone twice. It's one of only a couple rides at SFOG with a single rider line, which you won't find til the reach the station. The park wasn't super busy on the day I went, starting out with lots of elbow room, and gradually accruing a sizable crowd as the day went on. The TC line wasn't the ghost town the old Georgia Cyclone queue ended up being but it wasn't a terrible wait either. From chatter I heard, I could tell I wasn't the only one going for a reride either. On my first ride I went for the luck of the draw in the single rider line and ended up in the second row, which ended up being about as good as the first row as the kid in front of me was so short, so the view was pretty great. On my second ride I would've eschewed the single rider line to go for the back row, but Six Flags was being so chintzy with shutting rides down before the stated closing time of 7pm. I'd already been bounced out of the Pandemonium and Goliath lines no sooner than I had made it past a switch back or two, so I wasn't taking any chances with my nightcap on Twisted Cyclone. So single rider line it was. Wouldn't you know it, I got second row again. This time I was looking at the back of somebody's head, so it wasn't another psuedo-front row ride, but I ain't complaining. Twisted Cyclone is oodles of fun and I could've easily ridden it another 5 times. It looks great on the midway, too, combining that classic coaster look with that bright blue, trademark twisty RMC track. It's no accident they get dubbed Twisted so much. Definitely don't miss this coaster if you like thrills and are at Six Flags Over Georgia. Goliath is King of the coasters here, but this small but fierce machine is a very worthy Jack. read more

Absolutely phenomenal, GET IN LINE (worth up to 60 minute wait to me)! This used to be the Georgia cyclone and they completely remade it and it paid off big time!! Definitely my all time favorite wooden coaster! This thing will blow your mind with the constant intensity while doing things that you never knew a wooden coaster could do! Twisted Cyclone is currently my favorite coaster at the park and is my go to ride everytime I visit. This is the only RMC coaster I have ridden so far and was much needed for a long time cuz the original Geoegia Cyclone was giving people a lot of heacdaches just because how rough it was. I apprechiate how there are speakers that play a sound effect of an actual storm as a part of the ride's theming. However, I honestly would love to see a lot more scenery and theming of this ride than it currently has since it's theamed to storms like placing a statue of a tornado, a few bouys, storm flags, an evaucation sign, and also decorate the waitng station with images of past hurricanes like in the queue line. It would be very amazing to have some refrences of the abandoned Six Flags New Orleans since it was destroyed by an actual hurricane in 2005 to go along with the ride's theming to hurricanes. read more

Twisted cyclone is has a top tear layout all the elements hit hard the ejector airtime is as good as you can get for only being 100 feet tall and 2,400 feet long six flags has a winner on their hands I have two rides both in the back row first you first have a small drop out of the station into some bunny hills and little twisted hills a good way to kick of the ride then you start to go up the loud 100 foot tall lift hill on the side of the lift hill there are signs that talk about weather warnings and say there's no turning back now but my favorite is the very last sign and it says time to ride it out because this ride is themed to storms and tornadoes next is first drop this is a hand's up drop the 75 degree twisted drop is one of the best i've experienced you are flung out of your seat in the back rows while twisting downwards so you bottom out and pull up into a reverse cobra roll the only in the world in the front you get a little floater airtime but everybody gets some hang time and wip on the second half of the roll you get some airtime in the back this element is good but it is forgettable and not a stand out element it is unique next is the wave turn and this is the best moment other than the first drop you get the hard to find experience of sideways airtime next is the other turnaround element an airtime hill up into a over bank curve and a airtime hill down the two airtime hills provide solid ejector airtime and the turn with laterals and more sideways airtime then you follow up into a zero g roll this is slow but not to slow providing hangtime and some airtime next you have two small airtime hills both have ejector airtime then you go through a over bank turn and a great twisted airtime hill with more airtime now you finish with a twist into a smooth stop with the brakes you feel like you are going faster than 50 miles per hour my favorite part is the first drop and the wave turn they both provide world class ejector airtime and are the best elements in the park for airtime the only downside of the ride is the length it is quite short and you fly through the 2,400 feet of track it in my opinion is still the best ride in the park barely beating out goliath the b and m hyper over all twisted cyclone is a elite rollercoaster that is just a little bit to short but has amasing elements i give it a 9.2/10 I can not wait till I can take another ride on twisted cyclone. read more

I walk into the park and see this ride, I was expecting a good ride. The wait was all the way down to the Flash Pass building, I had to wait 90 minutes for this. After going through the lackluster queue (which they tried to theme, but failed,) I saw a beehive in the station, luckily nobody was stung, but I'm allergic to bees and this kinda freaked me out. So what about the ride? I went into the back row and I was still excited. BIG MISTAKE! The employee named Sarah pushed my lap bar down so hard I could not move, I could still breathe, but my shins were bruised before I left the station. The small hops before the list made it feel like my knee was going to shatter. I will give credit, great signs on the lift that built anticipation, but then, the drop. Midway through the drop, there's a nasty turn that made my whole torso move towards the side of the train, but I couldn't move from my lap bar, so as my body crashed into the side of the train my hip was being stretched to the fullest. The next rolls were fine, I didn't really care. But then, the sideways thing. I get jolted to the side in the same way the drop did, but way worse. My body almost touched the ramp next to me, and it felt like my lower torso was being torn from the rest of my body. I then come crashing down, bounce back up into my restraint, and ruin my knees. The rest of the ride I do not remember because I was screaming in agonizing pain. But we sat on the brakes for so long all I did was question my life and why Sarah would push my restraint so hard.
