Everytime we go there less and less toppings are in what we order. this time we ordered 2 large twistees both double oreo as you get 2 toppings. we asked for double oreos in each. there was very minimal Oreos and not even mixed in. when we asked them about it all they said was. if it is a twister it is mixed in. While I was there, there was an employee who was hanging out with 2 dudes, and she was just spraying down the table area with the water hose. Not a fan of the vanilla or chocolate ice cream. Hurray! We have a Twistee Treat in our neighborhood! This location is on E. Bay Dr., west of the intersection with Keene Rd. It's on the north side of the street. You can't miss it because it's the edifice that's shaped like an enormous soft serve ice cream cone. (see pic) We decided to order just some basic ice cream: a chocolate shake and a butter pecan cup. The shake was wonderful and it wasn't too thick. I didn't bust a lung trying to drink it through a straw. The butter pecan cup was a more than ample portion and delicious. With both ice cream orders, the ice cream texture was smooth and not at all grainy like some other ice cream shops that I can think of. I spoke with Nicholas Parkes, Director of Operations, and he stated that they were planning many more locations in Pinellas County. They were having some trouble with the city of Clearwater because of their super strict signage and building code laws due to the shape of their edifices. You have got to stop by and try some of their ice cream. They also sell Nathan's Hot Dogs, too! I could spend all day there! read more

Awesome ice cream shop right next to Panda Express in Largo. It's very cute looking as it looks like an ice cream cup/cone on the outside. It's easy to miss at nighttime. It's located in a shopping plaza so ample parking and this place has a drive thru! I love soft serve so this place had a massive selection of flavors! The young lady was kind enough to help us taste some flavors before buying. But I went with a classic and my fav, hot fudge sundae. We looked on google maps for ice cream and saw that they were open til 11, we went there for ice cream and were standing outside the beholding just before 10:30, no one came to the window to answer or take orders. When it hit 10:30, a girl came up to the window and said sorry we are closed and didn't allow us to get anything. They need to change the hours on google maps, along with make sure they pay attention to the customers, because as I said before, we were standing there a good 2 minutes before they came to the window, just to say they closed at 10:30. Disappointing. Really... I've driven by this multiple times as it was being built and have wanted to try it ever since. Well, I finally got to and unfortunately was only a subpar experience. It was about 5:30pm on a Wednesday so I was really surprised to see the amount of people seated with their treats. There were a few patrons standing in line either waiting for their order or browsing the menu and only one other car in the drive thru by the time I entered the queue. Now, I should tell you that before I go to new places I tend to study the menu ahead of time so I know exactly what I want without the pressure of someone in the drive thru telling me to take my time and then 30 seconds later prompting me to order OR my boyfriend and his lack of patience. But I digress. I knew exactly what I wanted.... A banana split for myself, brownie boat for the man, and on a whim a hot dog with mustard because I have not eaten very much at work. As soon as I make my way to the window the young lady was wrapping up an order from the car behind me told me the total and took my card. Then she had my card for what felt like 5 whole minutes before she told me that she's accidentally hit cash rather than credit. A little hiccup, fine, just please inform me ASAP. I don't know about you, but I get involuntarily anxious when someone holds my cards out of view for well over the anticipated transaction time. Especially, if I'm in a drive thru. Anyways, finally everything was fixed and I got my card back and checked the receipt to make sure everything was correct. A few seconds later I received the banana split in a styrofoam hotdog type container and I saw that it was leaking a bit, perhaps from being overfilled? I hoped so! Then a young gentleman mistakenly brought over a strawberry come with sprinkles. Not mine sir, sorry. Then the brownie boat came out. Unlike the banana split it came out opened with a spoon (which are normally individually wrapped) already in it. You can imagine my wince as I was the only one in the car and I have tan fabric seats. Luckily, and don't ask why, I had a poncho in my back seat so I grabbed it and put the two desserts on top of it in my front seat. The woman said thank you for coming and I told her I still had a hot dog. She said "oh" and that they were waiting for the machine to warm up.. I'll remind you it's 530p on a Wednesday. Then she proceeded to ask if I could wait in front and I politely said sure. Big mistake. There's no front to wait in. I went and parked by Panda Express (entering in the wrong way) but figured she wouldn't see my car amongst all the panda patrons and then pulled up literally right in front of Twistee Treat. Blocking traffic if there were any. A couple minutes later the same woman who handed over my boyfriends uncovered brownie boat with the spoon stuck in it found me and hurdled over the mulch filled divider, clearly not meant to be hurdled over and handed me the good through my passenger window. I said thank you as she made her way back over. Of course I was hungry so before I pulled away I grabbed the hot dog and took a bite. Cold. Luke warm at BEST. About at warm as putting a cold hot dog in the microwave for 10 seconds. Literally. I was hungry so I ate it in my way home. Now, I only live roughly 3 minutes from this place. When I got home and grabbed the desserts the banana split had oozed out all over my (thankfully) poncho covered seat. I grabbed the banana split to look at the damage and it was like releasing the flood gates. Melted ice cream EVERYWHERE. The whipped cream was still intact. So I placed it on the roof of my white car tried to cover it back up only to have more ice cream ooze out. What a mess. I grabbed the brownie boat and banana split the best I could and made it up the stairs to our home. I had to kick at the door for Danny(my bf) to opened it and help me as ice cream dropped down my hands. I should also mention that the brownie boat wasn't nearly as filled as My banana split but it was equally as melty. After we made it safely in with cream covered hands I opened the containers and only sad remnants of beautiful ice cream remained. I took a photo (banana split only since Danny had already dug into his) which I'll post as well. Taste wise it was good, nothing spectacular, but creamy and not grainy like you might get from other places. The chocolate ice cream was speckled with bits of chocolate? But the texture was just as creamy. I'm not sure we'll go back. Maybe after awhile when they've had time to run more smoothly. I love food and this was a sad experience for me. read more

The 'shift manager' on 10/5 at noon has the worst customer service skills I've ever experienced. I asked for two hot dogs, which is on their menu, and was told "I don't have any ready". Not "we're out of hot dogs" not "they're not ready, would you mind waiting" just no hot dogs. I know they don't keep them ready made as I've had to wait before, which wouldn't have been an issue. She just didn't want to take the five minutes to make them apparently. This girl should not even be in any kind of customer service, let alone a shift manager. read more

I was a regular customer here, spending at least 30 dollars a week. However, on Thursday, July 20th; I was treated more rudely and unprofessionally than I thought possible. It was not busy at all and I thought that I would receive great service. Tykee ( he told me his name) was rude at the intercom, yelling and asking me my order (rudely) over and over. When I attempted to speak to him at the window about his completely unprofessional behavior, he just said "whatever". He was also wearing a dirty t shirt and a baseball cap pulled down over his eyes, also quite unprofessional. When he ignored me I told him that I would contact his supervisor, he told me, "Go ahead, do what you have to do; she won't do anything to me anyway". To top it all, 2 of my 3 items of my order were wrong. I was afraid to take it back for fear of Tykee doing something to my ice cream. I am contacting their customer service department in Orlando to file a formal complaint. Myself or my other 15 friends who frequent this spot will not be going here again until this situation is remedied. I pray that no one else gets this slovenly, unprofessional young man when you go there. He is a disgrace to customer service, truly. read more

We did not receive our entire order and when we asked for the final item we were told that we did not pay for it. The manager told us that her sole job is to make the company money as opposed to providing good customer service. In response to our frustration the manager slammed the window in our faces. Being my first time and really only wanting one thing that I think is a simple test for a new ice cream shop. I ordered the fat free no sugar added vanilla ice cream in a small cake cup dipped in the chocolate that freezes. Classic. I ate it on the way home because folks in the Florida heat you have to eat your ice cream fast. I have no ac. It was great and generous small and very creamy not a grainy ice milk ice cream. The light Ice cream vanilla is about 80 calories per serving I think. Drive thru was a bit long but it was 9:30 at night so no biggie. I think from the reviews the workers will need some working with by the boss and get use to Florida heat and the need for fast accurate orders. Once you get in the drive thru no way out so make sure you have time. Not for a work lunch folks. This is a time consuming endeavor. It took me about a half hour in line. My order was simple so they had it to me fast.. They offered me a Loyalty card and had me fill out a form. That was a mistake. I though they would give me a punch card. Suggestion. Hand out punch cards. It was a piece of paper and i am sure my handwriting was not legible because i had nothing to write on in the car. Oh well, I just felt bad holding up the line while the young fellow held my leaking ice cream cone. They have tables outside for those who want to eat their icecream in a group and walk up windows. Some kinks that all can be worked out. Great product. Light and creamy like Carvel. Prices cheaper than mall but not low low.
