The food was bland. Chili and beans tasted like cheap canned chili. Beans had no flavor. Left there without eating there food

Do not eat here. To give some background information, my husband and I were passing through on a…read moreroad trip and it was one of our few eating options available. When arriving at the restaurant, we found that we were the only customers there. After ordering our food, I asked to use the bathroom and the employees pointed me to their bathroom located in the kitchen. It was completely disgusting. There were dirty mops everywhere as well as other stuff that completely cluttered the bathroom. The toilet looked like it had never been cleaned before. I had to remove several items from the sink, including a first aid kit, just to be able to wash my hands. I didn't feel like eating anymore however, my husband was still starving so we stuck around. Honestly, we should've left. The three employees interacted with us by complaining about their coworkers and the work environment became so hostile that we even got to witness an employee quit and walk out without informing anyone. When our food finally arrived, after waiting 45 minutes in an EMPTY restaurant, we only forced down a few bites. The burger and chicken sandwich are average AT BEST. The burger and chicken were both super dry and the french fries were covered in this weird batter that just tasted weird. To be fair, that's just my opinion, others may like the taste of the batter. We both left the restaurant wondering if we were going to get food poisoning later while simultaneously feeling relieved that we had finally made it out of there. We chose to eat at this place because it had two 5 star reviews.

They stayed on top of the water refills and I appreciated the vat (I'm kidding) I mean the squeeze bottle of ranch dressing (yes, I am one of those people.) The fries had the peels on which I love and they were pretty tasty. I had the mushroom bacon swiss burger and my hubby had the classic burger without cheese. Both burgers were good. He ordered onion rings and those were a big hit. I would also note that the onions rings appeared beer battered and a bit more cakey with a smoother finish than ones with flour breading. That is a personal preference for some. They were very good. I love love love the atmosphere here. It has such a nice patio atmosphere and there were lots of families and couples dining al fresco. We would definitely return. It is so nice to sit outside here.

We also tried the brisket queso, which had good flavor, but we had to ask for it to be reheated. Service was friendly and the spot has an easygoing vibe if you're looking for somewhere casual to grab a meal.
