When the stylist finally began, her attitude and overall demeanor were noticeably negative, which made the experience uncomfortable. Additionally, the stylist started blow-drying my hair without applying a heat protectant. I had to request that it be used, which should be standard practice. Clients should not have to ask for basic hair care measures. I also found the pricing to be excessive for the level of service provided. Certain treatments, such as deep conditioning, are not included in some services and come at an additional cost. During my appointment, the stylist was whispering and gossiping with another stylist, which felt unprofessional. Overall, the salon appears to charge for many add-ons while not delivering a level of service that justifies the cost. Due to the poor customer service and lack of value, I would not recommend this salon.

I've been in the DC area for about 8 years and struggled the first 3 years to find a stylist with whom I felt comfortable, was a top-notch professional and was respectful of others time. I eventually gave up, opting instead to go back and forth to NYC. It should be obvious that this option was not only expensive but time-consuming. Something had to give. Then, about 2 and half years ago, a friend gave me Luxe Looks card. While she had never visited the salon personally, she swore that anyone walking out always looked fabulous. She found out about Luxe by accident when she complemented and asked several strangers who their hair stylist was; no surprise they all said Luxe and gave her a business card. After a few weeks of debating with myself, I called and made an appointment and have been coming back every since, and that was more than two years ago. I have never been disappointed with the professionalism, service, experience and ultimate class displayed by all of the employees. My hair is healthier, longer and more vibrant. This is a high heat process so please be warned, I have 4c natural hair and got it blown out straight. No heat damage thank god! this is not a style I will get regularly. I mainly did the blow out for the purpose of getting my ends clipped. I don't typical do heat on my natural hair one thing I was nervous about is that I didn't notice any heat protectant being used. Next time I will come with my own products to be on the safe side. ( I might be doing the most but so what)! She clipped my ends to my satisfaction ( they were clipped) not chopped. This is a real Dominican salon with majority Spanish speakers so there is somewhat of a language barrier, they have English speaking front desk staff but I'm not sure if they speak Spanish. The staff here was good overall I feel that they do good work and have good service. I think the shop is cute and I was quoted a price of $70 for the blow out, clip and flat iron. At the time of check out I paid $80. This was confusing but nothing to extreme for me. so come with additional funds or confirm the pricing up front. The wait time was not long at all, I will be a returning customer.
