My first contact came from Shaun. Fabulous guy! He was not just friendly and easy to talk to, but listened with the intent to understand and answered questions thoroughly. He explained every aspect of their process and the materials they use that was easy to understand without being "sales pitchy." He suggested an alternative to my plan that saved me hundreds of dollars. When the crew came to remove and replace my driveway, the owner of the company, Neil, walked with me so I could point out areas of concern and address what Shaun and I discussed. Then he and his guys got busy doing everything expeditiously and with precision. One thing that really impressed me was when they hand packed the edges with a tool that makes them beveled to prevent water from getting underneath the asphalt. They cleaned every bit of debris and one guy even used the loose pebbles of asphalt to fill in some minor gaps. Having gotten five quotes before them, they were very competitive and the second lowest. The difference wasn't significant, but what tipped the scales was they were able to complete the work in one day whereas the other company would've put in the packing material first, have us drive over it for a week, then come back to finish the job. Durable's 2-year warranty backs up their work. I'm very critical of any company that wants my business for a major big ticket project, and I was happy with their total service from start to finish...never any tension or anxiety. They will be back in a year or two to seal coat the surface. They are a local and family-owned business out of Princeton, MN. I hope to have convinced you to at least invite Shaun to give you a quote. I hope you'll have them replace your driveway because you will undoubtedly be extremely satisfied with the results!

Then he wants a 50% depost on a job he is literally putting out money for nails on. Told him law is 10% or $1000, whichever is less. The number he gave for the job was just under three grand, again - not sure it was for the WHOLE job, as the square footage he listed was off by about 400, and did not delineate by rooms -but when i told him law is 10% and I'm not giving him 50% down (in cash no less) he got real ugly. Look, the guy is 80 years old, has cancer, just got out of the hospital, and everytime I spoke with him and asked how he was doing his answer was "not good" - so no, you absolutely are not getting $1500 for a job to start in five weeks . . . he stated he doesn't do this full time anymore, only occasionally - so why the five week lead? Between Lumber Liquidaters (same company they just chaged the name to throw folks off) and this guy - I'm starting to see a pattern regarding hardwood floor installers here. Luckily I dodged a big, expensive bullet, with minimal grief. This time.

The bid process took less than 20 minutes and the quote we were given was well within our budget. We anticipated the job would cost around $1500 to complete but we were given an estimate for $880. The following Monday work began at 7am and was complete by 10am. The lights looked exceptional and they were extremely thorough in their cleanup. They even went the extra mile to clean our ceiling fan and verify that our breakers were up to code. I would highly recommend Little Dave's based on their quality of work but the story gets better. Upon receiving our invoice, we were billed $450 rather than the $880 because the job took less time than anticipated. This was completely unexpected but very much appreciated. Now if we could only get auto shops to do the same! Bottom line, we were extremely happy with our experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality, experienced electrician.

The end result is my floor is one color n the vanity is another (it was to be replaced) but the flooring was already completed and I was told it was a shower drain issue, so the shower had to be replaced and the threshold between the hallway and the bathroom was not completed n I was told I'd have to pay an extra $500 for it. :( They told me they were coming back, but didn't :( I have a bathroom with two doors so one is done and one I still have to pay to get done.... Being an elderly person I feel I was taken advantage of completely... and before I can sell it, I'm gonna have to pay a few thousand to fix, sadly...
