The cake display outside is inviting, with hand written brown label price tags and a variety of different sized cake stands. You're faced with amaretto chocolate cupcakes topped with edible gold, huge praline meringues, and slabs of brownies. Stepping inside, it feels a touch chaotic, but it sort of (sort of) adds to the charm. We visited on two occasions - naughty - and had a raspberry bakewell slice, pecan nut brownie, the aforementioned chocolate cupcake, and a huge slice of sponge cake with raspberries and limoncello sauce. Service on the first visit was much quicker than the second; our cakes were selected, popped into a white box and stickered ready for us to go on our merry way. Our second visit and there was only one person behind the counter, doing his best but struggling slightly under the demand! I hope that Two Magpies doesn't fly away too soon; Southwold is changing in many respects and, as long as the prices don't shoot up much further, I think they've found a good niche to sit in.
