After booking the cleaner for a move-in move out clean, I was told upon their arrival that I would need to pay an up charge for the "construction dust" the cleaner claimed was everywhere since we'd had carpet removed. The carpet removers had already cleaned once, but I agreed to the requested, on the spot, up charge of $100+ on the condition that the Condo be truly and completely clean when it was done. After the first attempt at this services cleaning, the condo might as well not have been touched. Entire rooms had been missed. Shelves had not been cleaned and the cleaner had not even noticed that some of the closets were there. We spoke to the owner, and they agreed to send her back out, She did return and try cleaning again. She did actually go into all the rooms and though there was visible dirt (black in windowsills, old built up dust on the outlets, smudges on the windows, etc.) we did accept this cleaning job because I just wanted this mess to be over. But weeks later and I'm still finding places where she just did not clean. I paid for a move in move out clean WITH an up charge for extra cleaning and got...two days of stress and the old owners crumbs still in the kitchen drawers. Sinks, windowsills, cabinets. We had so much going on at the time and just didn't have the time or energy to clean our home ourselves so Ruby Red really came in clutch. We received a quote quickly and cleaners were able to come the week that my wife was scheduled to go the hospital. The cleaners did an amazing job and were both very friendly. We have a smaller house and they were great about navigating the tight spaces and asking questions about certain areas where necessary. Well, as most new parents know, the first few months were chaotic and we were perpetually tired so before we knew it, our house was trashed and we needed Ruby Red's services once again. This time, we went with their basic cleaning package ($150) and it only differed in a few areas, most notably, we had 1 cleaner this time around instead of 2, and certain areas were cleaned a little differently. This package worked well for our budget and once we were able to get on our own feet again, we were able to fill the gaps when needed, like the baseboards, air vents, and other areas that are normally add-ons. As a guy who grew up lower income, this was a difficult expense to continue to do regularly but living in a smaller house, every part of the house is a "high traffic" area so it all gets messy/dirty quickly. After how well those first two cleanings went, we decided to continue the service monthly! I pride myself on being able to tackle the cleaning myself, and still do, but over the course of a month of cleaning and tidying the house myself, while being a first-time dad, it's honestly EXTREMELY helpful having a cleaner come once a month to take the pressure off of me and my wife. We've now been using their services for under a year now and have been very happy with the ease of communication, billing + tipping system, and the friendly staff that clean our home. A few things to note: they're an eco-friendly cleaning product service so they won't use harsh products like bleach when they clean your home. They're very clear and upfront about what they can and cannot do on their website, as well as what's included in their pricing so be sure to browse their site and ask all of the right questions during your first consult. They take detailed notes on their end and will clean areas to your preference without having to be reminded each month, even if a different cleaner comes to clean. After using Merry Maids, I have greater empathy for the Fyre Festival attendees because I now know what it is like to be promised a grand service only to find out that you've been scammed out of your money. I paid Merry Maids to do the following: 1) clean the kitchen and the bathroom, 2) fold my laundry, and 3) take out the trash. I did not ask them to vacuum the non-bathroom areas, but I did request light dusting. I paid for two hours worth of cleaning. I was concerned about the costliness of the service (since other cleaning services I've used were not that expensive), but the account executive assuaged my fears by discussing their BBB rating, and I naïvely took that at face value. Two maids arrived at my house on the morning I requested the service. Before I left the house, I gave them a quick tour (I live in a one bed/one bathroom apartment) and let them know what needed to be done. I went to my exercise class expecting to be pleased with the service when I got home. When I left the exercise class, I saw a phone call and two text messages from the account executive; she said that they were only able to clean the kitchen, and she needed me to authorize more time. I was perplexed and livid because I realized that I paid $140 for two people to do the dishes and wipe the countertops. I texted the account executive back, and shortly thereafter she called me. She told me that since two people came, they could only work for an hour; so, she continued, one person cleaned the counters, and the other washed the dishes. In addition, she told me that they spent a lot of time cleaning up water because the dishwasher was leaking. I asked her why they didn't lock the dishwasher before turning it on, and the account executive, who seemed to have an epiphany as to why the dishwasher was leaking, acknowledged that the maids didn't think of doing that simple action. I came home to find that the kitchen counter tops were clean and the trash was taken out, but the maids left what they swept in the kitchen on the floor in a pile, and some of the dishes were still not clean!! The bathroom tub and counter tops were hastily wiped; the floor was neglected. I sent a photo to the account executive, and she rationalized it by saying that they had to stop abruptly because their time was up. Absolutely unprofessional! I called customer support multiple times, but no managers could be reached.

They are remarkable. When they came to look at my house and provide a quote they checked the blinds, baseboards, tops of picture frames, and so on for dust. When they came to clean for the first time they were exceptional. I am very picky and they did absolutely everything...cleaned all the fans, took the pads out of the dog crates and vacuumed them, took the soap out of the dishes and cleaned them, washed the sheets and made the bed, rolled the towels in the bathrooms, and more than I ever expected. They were unbelievably thorough and worth every penny. I moved to The Villages a few months ago and tried several other people before them, none of whom came even close to the attention to detail of these quality-driven young men!
