I had the absolute worst experience with Thomas Moving. I'd like to preface this by saying we've…read moremoved A LOT. We are very familiar with using movers and how things should go when done right. I called on 08/04 to schedule my move for 08/15. It was a two minute phone call as I explained we were moving a 3bd 2bth house two hours away. The only questions asked by him were if I knew the price ($120/hr) and if I wanted more than two people. He had me text him the two addresses, and that was it. In my text, I specifically asked if they wanted to see what needed to be loaded (most companies do) and if there was anything else to note before the day of my move. They said "ok". No further questions. The day of, they were an hour late due to "trouble with the truck". Come to find out, the truck was just a uhaul they were renting. Then, the guys that were moving us (who were fantastic by the way! Shoutout to Milo and Preston!) did not bring enough straps because "the crew was split, and they had the rest of the straps". When the other two boys arrived it was determined that they would not be able to fit all of our belongings in the uhaul. This included a motorcycle I inherited from my father who passed- a very sentimental item to me. There were other odds and ends such as tvs that we realized wouldn't fit either. Mind you, I asked if they wanted to see what needed to be loaded before they came. One of the boys comes out to our porch and without introducing himself just says "are ya busy?" and proceeds to say they won't be able to take everything. My husband and I protested that it wasn't our fault, and they needed to figure it out. The boy became very hateful saying "well then you need to pay for another crew/truck, they aren't going to move your stuff for free" and I continued explaining that was NOT our fault and they were unprepared, not us. He continues to have an attitude and says "it's not gonna happen" and mumbles other stuff under his breath and then just leaves the house entirely. Not appreciating that interaction, we call the main phone number and my husband explains that this person was really rude to me and that they needed to figure out how to get our stuff moved without charging us extra because this was on them. The guy on the phone keeps insisting to my husband that they won't be doing anything unless we pay extra and when I get on the phone, I realize the guy is the one who was just at my house being hateful. I asked to speak to his boss- come to find out, he's the owner! So this guy comes to my house, is rude to us and does not accept any fault for the situation with a "sucks to be you" attitude, does not even introduce himself as the owner, and then leaves his crew to deal with us while we're upset?? What kind of person does that??? The two guys loading our stuff even offered to take some of our belongings in their personal vehicle to help us out (something the owner should have done). They did end up getting the bike on but it was a tight fit- but we had to go back for the rest of our stuff (an suv and truck bed full of stuff). I've also asked three times for a receipt for the payment I made to them ($1600+) and have received not one response. This boy is playing a very risky game dealing with peoples items and money like this and being a total jerk about it. DO NOT do business with this person. All he is doing is renting out labor, and they are NOT a moving company! Bite the bullet and pay extra for two men and a truck- I wish we had!!!

After seeing the apartment for myself, I would have done the same thing. I am very sorry for writing that review and hope I have not caused them to lose any business. It is with much dislike that I am left with no other option but to let others know of the poor…read moreservice and treatment we have had to endure because we entrusted Darrell Jackson Owner of Jackson Moving out of Gainesboro, Tennessee (Jackson County) with our move. Darrell Jackson, Employees Broke and Damaged several of our items in our move. After speaking to Mr. Jackson about the broken and damaged items his Employees broke/damaged, Mr. Jackson said he would replace them. The damaged/broken items are a Office Desk from Staples, a side table from Walmart, a decorative foyer chest from Morgan Furniture, the bottom of our Sofa from Morgan Furniture, a tea cart with marble from Hobby Lobby, another side table from Morgan Furniture, scratches on my bedroom suit from Badcock, a huge scratch on the TV Console from D.T. McCalls. I agreed to let all but the Office Desk and Side Table from Walmart go, those two items were broke so badly they could not be repaired. I want to add, Mr. Jackson never got back to us, after two weeks we had to call him to see what he was going to do. That's when I agreed to let him replace the Office Desk and Side Table to be more than fair. After 5 months of NOT hearing back from him I called and spoke to his wife Robbie that runs the business. Mrs. Jackson blew me off and said they have been busy. Robbie Jackson said she has called and left numerous messages, which is not true. When I said, the issue needs to be resolved, the usually nice spoken Mrs. Jackson started getting ugly saying they fired those workers and they have us a Desk but haven't had time to put it together. I said, it has been 5 months and we would appreciate closure and this needs to be done as soon as possible, Mrs. Jackson replied they have been out so much money on other items their hired employees have broke/damaged on other moves and she thinks our furniture and all the other people that expect replacement are wrong, that our furniture as well as the other individuals furniture isn't worth anything. I cannot understand her need to go into detail of her issues with other individuals as it has nothing to do with our situation, all I could take from her rant and rave was her unnecessarily venting her anger. Those who know us, know our furniture is anything but cheap, most of our furniture is new/newer and we take excellent care of our things and they are in great condition, with the exception of the items Jackson Moving broke/damaged. After the last call to both Darrell Jackson and his wife Robbie Jackson about a 2 months ago and with their poor attitude I told them I would be left with no choice but to take them to Court. Then in a few days Mrs. Jackson had their hired workers/employees to bring a Desk that was badly scratched and had places of missing wood out of it. We refused to accept it and now Darrell Jackson of Jackson Moving is REFUSING to replace or pay for the for the Desk we agreed to, I did receive a check for 50.00 for the Walmart side table, I took less than we paid for it to be fair. A good business man would and should be willing to replace and/or pay for broken/damaged items, as our Move/Furniture was placed in the care of Darrell Jackson of Jackson Moving and entrusting his Moving Business to move us, it is Darrell Jackson of Jackson Moving responsibility to act like a professional business man and do right by his customers, it shouldn't matter if it's the 1st or the 100th time you hire him. I am very disappointed in Darrell Jackson of Jackson Moving Company after years of doing business with him. Please don't fall victim to him like I and so many others have ! You never really know someone or a Business until it comes time to settle up. Then their true colors come out.
