I will never work with Two Men and a Truck ever again. I specifically asked before booking if I could pay by card and was told yes. It was a deal breaker for me. The day before my move I was told I had to have a cashiers check. When I explained that I was told I could pay with a card and would pay right then, they still made me get the cashiers check. Lie #1. Then Lie #2, the mover told me that I was over quoted and due a refund. It was in the paperwork when I signed at the end. Their receipt link expires and you can't bring it back up and when I explained the issue I was again told that I was not told correctly and I paid exactly what I should have and was not over charged. I said its in the paperwork and he said its not. Complete lie bc I saw it when I signed the document. The movers themselves are wonderful. But because the office staff lie and then don't honor NOR work with the customer to fix THEIR misinformation I will NEVER use this company ever again, and make sure to tell anyone who is planning a move NOT to use them. Please do yourself a favor and stop reading and look for another moving company now. The company was an hour late getting started, took an hour longer than expected, and was unable to figure out how to get items they didn't want to move out of the house. (A friend of mine cane over and I moved it in 10 minutes). Their attitudes became worse as the move went on. They damaged a wall, refused to repair. I had to fix it. They damaged a table that cost over 500 to purchase and offered 200 to replace it. Whatever the range they tell you, expect the highest amount. Whatever they look at or agree to on the initial visit is meaningless. You have to do it all over again when they show up to move you. If you told the 1st person for the quote something that didnt get relayed to the actual movers, it will be left behind. You have been warned. read more

I am giving Two Men and a Truck 2 stars because the three men who actually did the work showed up on time and did what was asked of them. The company management ( the scheduler and the Office Manager) caused confusion and gave misleading information. I called in to set up a move of furniture and boxes stored in our basement and garage to be moved to a location about 40 minutes away. I explained that i could only go by memory, (out-of-state at the time) so the number of boxes was an estimate and the items of furniture were the large pieces that I could recall. If a detailed list was needed, I would have to get back to them. (I was told that they don't do on-site estimates due to Covid.) Based on the Information I gave, the woman I spoke with estimated 7 hours and roughly $1200.00. I was assured this was just an estimate and most likely wouldn't take that long. She asked about appliances and other specific items, but never required an exact list of pieces in order to do the estimate or schedule a time for the move. My husband was on site and had done a lot to prepare for the move by organizing boxes for loading. The company sent three men with the truck (I was told a truck and two men for $150/hour). After about an hour of loading, the main guy started talking about pulling out! My husband had to insist that they continue to load! Long story short, they loaded half of the items, delivered them to the other location and unloaded. The charge was for 4.5 hours with an added "depreciation" charge of $120 based on weight (?), which was not mentioned in my conversation with the scheduler. (It was explained to me that the depreciation charge is in case something is damaged....so I'm paying extra in case my stuff gets damaged by them?). We were told that we'd have to schedule another appointment to finish moving the rest of the boxes because they were not on the "inventory" and the charge would be $200/hour. (In my conversation with the scheduler, I explained several times that I was working from memory and if more details were needed, I would have to get back to her.) We decided to rent a truck and move the rest of the boxes ourselves. I can not recommend this company because they did not finish the job, left us hanging, refused to take responsibility for the grief they caused, and inflated their charge by the bogus "depreciation" fee. If I could give this negative 5 stars I would. Please do not book these movers under any circumstance. They will steal your money with their incompetent employees running the clock playing on their cell phones while being paid hourly. My husband and I have moved 12 times and never had such a terrible experience. First of all, the company never came to our house to look at the items to be moved. They only sent two small men who played on their cell phones the entire time and were unable to physically move several items. One of the movers cried about his girlfriend that just broke up with him and the other was telling us how he wanted to quit and had applied for a desk job. They placed large holes through the dry wall of our rental townhome. They also dropped my $3,000 dresser in the driveway and damaged it. They only had two bedroom sets, a corner cabinet, tv credenza, sofa, audio equipment and garage shelving to move 2 miles from our townhouse to our new home and my husband helped them the entire time, and it took them over 9 hours to move. Most of this time was spent on their cell phones or trying to figure out how to move furniture, not actively moving items. The movers even said more men should have been sent. They were never able to physically get the head board and dresser up to our bedroom, it's still in our living room. We had to delay our travel plans because they were unable to complete our move. I have never been more upset or frustrated, and I urge you to please stay away from this company. read more

Leaving 1 star because 0 wasn't an option. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK - Be aware of this company. I trusted that I was in good hands because many of my neighbors and colleagues have used their services for moves, however to my surprise I was horribly let down. Upon their arrival, 2 very nice gentlemen helped me with the move- my problem was not with them- they were excellent. To share some background- I called this company to ask for an estimate to move a 1 bedroom apartment. The lady I spoke with goes by "Dee"- Delores, she told me they charge an hourly rate of $125 dollars and they have a 2 hour minimum. She also told me I would have to put down a $200 dollar deposit to hold my spot. I told her I'd call her back after I did some shopping around. On January 20, 2021, Dee emailed me to ask for my address again and to where I would be moving to. She stated she needed this information to work on my estimate. I provided her the information she requested, and then heard nothing back from her. A week goes by and then I reached out to her by phone to see where she was with the update. She told me she would check on it and provided me with an estimate of $395-$500 dollars. I wanted to do some shopping around so I told her I would call her back. On February 3rd I called and asked Dee if she still had availability for a move on February 6th, she said yes. I paid my $200 deposit and she said she'd send me my Pre-move letter. She sent me the letter and I looked it over to find an additional charge of $19.50 for 3 large boxes and 3 medium boxes. I emailed her immediately as she is aware that I am on a tight budget and definitely not looking to add additional costs to an already high price tag. In the email I asked her "Am I being charged for boxes?" She emailed me back to say "looks like you asked for 3 large boxes and 2 medium boxes, do you need any additional supplies?" I emailed her back to say "no ma'am, I did not ask for any boxes nor any additional supplies". She never responded back to the email. My move day gets here and the guys head in and take a look, they immediately come out to say "it looks like you have much more than 18 items" at this point I am very confused as to what they are talking about. I look at them and said "What makes you think I only had 18 items to be moved?" He responded " It's here on the items list" at this point I am even more confused than before, so I asked him what items list? I never had an items list nor was I asked to complete one. I told him I worked with Delores and she was well aware that I had a 1 bedroom apartment that needed to be moved. He then told me, there is a list attached to your letter on my copy, I asked him if I could see the list, he showed me a list that contained some items I don't even own. I then showed him what Delores sent to me, he looked at the letter and said you didn't get a copy of the list and you were supposed to. He said it is protocol that they do an in person walk through. At this point I am freaking out because I have an entire apartment to move and to my knowledge I paid movers to do it. One of the guys called his boss and explained the situation, shortly after that, I received a call from this company so I quickly answered hoping to get to the bottom of this. Again I was met with another surprise, this one even more insane than the first. This lady / I Believe her name was Nikki or Nancy. She got on the phone and said "We will have to revise your letter due to you having more than 18 items. At this point I am beyond frustrated. I told that woman I never created a list, I had no idea what she was talking about. She preceded to tell me, we have a list with your information on it. I again told this lady I did not make a list, I didn't even know that I was supposed to make a list. She goes on to say maybe a friend or a relative sent it but it was submitted to our office and it did not come from within our office. I continue tell this woman the same thing I told her for what felt like an hour. She then says this list was submitted to our office on January 19th at 7:58pm. And at that point I was concerned that my personal information was at risk. She then tried to reconcile and come up with a plan to help me stay within the original price agreement which now only consisted of the movers grabbing a few items and leaving me with an entire apartment to move on my own. If you are looking to move and want good honest work, I suggest you avoid this place like the plague. I still have no idea who fabricated that list and of course she was not able to identify an IP address. How convenient. read more

Used this branch of Two Men and a Truck and was greatly disappointed. The pricing for moving was very complicated and not at all like the other two times I used the company in other locations. I ended up having to guess the weight of my move so I didn't have to pay more than the estimate and ended up leaving some stuff behind so as not to go over the quoted price/weight. Doing a blind estimation of how much my stuff weighs was absolutely ludicrous. The whole thing was very stressful and just a plain strange way to do a move. Before this particular franchise and two prior moves, I had nothing but wonderful things for the parent company, in general, but after using this branch I vowed to never ever use Two Men and a Truck again. Would give zero stars if I could. They broke a valuable mirror and told us we would be contacted within 2 days and fully reimbursed. It took 3 weeks and multiple calls, emails, notifying the corporate office, etc. before we heard anything. I expected to be reimbursed for more than just the cost of repair as the mirror did not look the same even after replacing the broken glass AND it took several hours of my time to remove the broken glass, order the new piece, pick it up, and put the mirror back together. I used this branch to move my elderlr mother from southwest va to Roanoke. The movers left a full garage behind because they couldn't fit it on truck. I had spent several weeks prior working with staff in order to get accurate quote planning for move and specifically telling them about the garage. They damaged an expensive executive desk, broke a crystal bowl, and picture. I made numerous phone calls trying to file a claim on damaged items and price adjustment for leaving garage items behind. I was talked to rudely, and made to feel like I was a bother now that they have their money. No apology whatsoever!! I asked to speak to owner and was told I couldn't have that information. We were quoted one price and then charged more at the end. The original quote was for two hours and would include setup of the beds. Not only did they NOT set up the beds, but they charged extra at the end. They said that they needed to charge for "drive time". There was never a mention of drive time during the initial two phone conversations. Charged almost an extra $200 on top of the original quote. Distance between two houses was only about 10 miles. We used Two Men and Truck in Salem for a big 500 mile interstate move. They were great! The office staff, Nikki and Jessica, were very responsive to questions and stayed in great contact with me throughout the planning stages and the actual move itself. The estimate was very straight forward. On the day of the move our two movers Ryan and Lonnie showed up and were very professional. They worked very hard and were able to load up quickly and efficiently. The local Manager Ronnie even came by to help because of the size of the move and the distance the guys needed to drive that day. The drivers stayed in great contact and arrived at our new home the next day with all of our stuff. They unloaded it very efficiently and made sure to ask where I wanted certain heavy items to be placed. There was no damage to any of our furniture. I had such a great experience, Much better than moves in the past. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone! read more
