First thing first, the owner has changed but the service is the same. Eva & Dan is the new owner who is always helpful with anything with your stay. I have been staying with Two Wheel Inn every time when I visited Tail of the Dragon. The place is a simple hotel with just enough amenities you need to stay in a hotel. The best part is the fact it has a individual garage for your motorcycle. I'm not too sure if you can fit a trike in there but 2 sports bike is a breeze to put in. All the visitors seem to just fuse themselves together with a conversation after their ride. It's a dry county so no alcohol but now has a restaurant within their property. You are able to get alcohol from there. However, make sure to check when they are open as it seems like they are open on selective days. The town does not have much place to eat so getting at least one meal at the restaurant is going to be a plus for you. This hotel is good for people looking for secure motorcycle garage and great price. Also, great placement for all the twisties around the region.

We got caught in a rain storm while waiting for friends to show up. Decide it was best to get a room for the remainder of the evening and stay safe. Right before the lightning storm hit, I took pictures of the property. Nice and clean and well maintained from what I could see. The room was a standard motel room with very high thread count bed sheets and pillows. Fair price for a last minute accommodation. Friendly office staff too. I can see why bikers stay here. Great place to stay if you're exploring the area on your motorcycle. Plenty of space to park your trailer and truck in the back. Sry county, so bring your coolers! Cheers!

For the past three years, a group of us have had a four day weekend down at the Dragon. We always stay at the Two Wheel Inn. The owners have a fantastic business model; build a nice motel that caters to bikers...and add a garage to each unit! The rooms are clean, comfortable and inexpensive. They go out of their way to make sure you feel like you belong there, even giving you directions to beer & liquor (they are situated in a dry county). They are currently installing tennis courts and a steak house so that they will be considered a "resort", and will be able to serve alcohol. That's about two years away though. I usually have a king room because I snore and hog the bed. They other rooms are two twins, one queen, and apartment rooms, all non-smoking (but they provide a butt bucket outside each room). Each of them have a mini-fridge (just barely holds an 18 pack of Budweiser bottles), microwave, coffee pot and flat panel TV with DirecTV. The garage fits one full dresser or two sport bikes. In the garage there are two patio chairs with a small table. There's a fire pit in the back that is open for whomever wants to use it. They even provide the firewood. The town of Robbinsville is about 3 miles away with everything you would need (except booze & beer) and the Dragon is 20 miles away down some beautiful roads. The only con is that their driveway has a few spots that are still gravel, so take care coming back in at night if you are on your bike!

The Two Wheel Inn is a hotel that comes with small garages designed to fit 2 sport motorcycles or a touring Harley Davidson style motorcycle. The owners live on-site and are the most helpful and friendly people you could ever meet. I needed a few tools for a quick fix on my motorcycle and Dan (owner) was eager and quick to help me not only get his tools for me to use but to also lend a helping hand! The place is clean, neat, well kept, very reasonable for price and did I mention the owners are the best!!!! If you are going to do any riding in the Deals Gap area, stop trying to save .50¢ and just come here. This is the BEST place you can stay period.

Nice fire at the fire pit.two wheel inn.

I asked my hubby if he wanted to start going again as I had found a room at Tapoco Lodge. Our big joke was it's the *Bougie place*! Well it is bougie where we are from, but it's also comfortable, calm, and very restful when coming back from hot rides with Miatas! From the beautiful Azalea Room to the fantastic eateries and bars in the hotel, you feel pampered and special! Our room was wonderful and there was not only in room coffee, but you could pop downstairs and get a to go cup of hazelnut coffee, tea or hot chocolate! We were cool after a long day, we could pop down for a drink or get some food and not have to leave. Best of all, we personally thought it was quiet. We actually got some decent sleep, which really never happened at Fontana. The mattress and sheets were very comfortable! My only regret would be we really didn't get to use and explore the property as we were at an event. I would recommend Tapoco Lodge to anyone looking for a special experience to enjoy their time, be it a honeymoon or going to the Dragon to ride! It's fantastic!

Right from the start we were greeted by Rosa who immediately made us feel right at home with her warmth and humor. Chef Andrew is an incredible talent. Everything was just extraordinarily delicious! We started with a very yummy chili with cornbread followed by the best pork belly we have had with a yummy almond butter sauce (lord!!) and then finished it off with perfectly cooked flatiron steaks with yummy cowboy butter! Oh and Chef even brought us some crispy cilantro rice that was also just a masterpiece of flavors. I don't know how many times I stopped during our meal to exclaim "this is SO GOOD" ....but it was many. That was the food- the people and service were as if not more impressive. Taz, the innkeeper who served us was incredibly kind and friendly and even brought us a complimentary champagne toast, which was so nice and appreciated! Again Rosa was hilarious and so sweet to us and then we met Shannon who brought us our desserts at the end of our meal and also made us feel like old friends. It was so over the top good that I feel we will be forever spoiled! We definitely will be coming back to stay. Many thanks again

Our party of four (two couples) showed up ahead of our reservation time, but they would not seat us early even though the dining room was mostly empty. There was one hostess at the desk and what appeared to be only a single server working the floor. They bring bread and water at the start of the meal. Be careful if you want to save your roll for later--they only allow one per person. The soup course that followed was the best part of the meal for me. After that, a couple of us ordered the mixed green salad (my wife said it was the highlight of her meal), while one of us had the Caesar salad with anchovies (which he removed). For the main courses, two of us ordered the grilled chicken, one had the steak, and I had the quail. The grilled chicken lacked flavor beyond the crust, the steak was overpowered by marinade so the meat itself was hard to taste, and the fried quail did not pair well with the grits for me. For dessert, two of us had the peach cobbler with ice cream, one ordered the key lime pie, and the other had the Almond Joy cheesecake. The peach cobbler was nothing like a good home-cooked version, the key lime pie was extremely tart, and the cheesecake was the only dessert that was actually good. Overall, the experience was not pleasant. There were very few people in the dining room the entire time--never more than three tables seated. It was uncomfortably quiet; you could clearly hear conversations from other tables. It felt like eating dinner in a musty library. We've eaten at a number of higher-end places across the South, but this is one I cannot recommend.

Each individual room had its own bathroom and sitting area, and some rooms had 2 queen beds and others 1 king bed. Before we arrived, we thought there were separate mini-cabins on the property, but each of the eight rooms are connected by a long, wide hallway. There are other cottages nearby, but we never really crossed paths with anyone. Lake Santeetlah is a half-mile walk down Blue Boar Road and there are kayaks available for use. Dogs are allowed at the lodge, and they loved having the freedom to run around all over the property. Overall, a perfect place for family gathering. We left in the morning and came back at 630pm to a room that had not been cleaned. We went down to the front desk and was told it was their procedure to only clean the rooms every two days. I asked why I was not told that upon check in and where it states that on their website. If I had known that the room was not going to be cleaned, I would have cleaned it myself. We had to then ask for towels, and coffee and the girl at the front desk gave me coffee for a commercial coffee machine and therefore we went without coffee the following morning. That same evening I went to take a bath and the water wouldn't get warm. I called to report it. The next morning still no hot water and so again I reported it. They claim too many people had taken a shower that morning and so it was cold. I explained to them the water was cool the night before at 9pm so that was incorrect. The lack of housekeeping daily and dealing with cold and lukewarm water makes me suggest that you never stay at this low budget hotel. I asked to speak to a manager many times and there was never one onsite and all they could do is take a message.
