Nostalgia.... This is the place... it's not a fancy schmancy hoidy toidy place. It's your basic motel along the road.... But then again.... It's not.... I am so glad we found this place, even if it was for one night only. It was so worth it. The owners live on site, so they take care of this place and they are super nice and helpful with everything. We even sat with them at night down by the river at the covered fire pit. Wow! It was like sitting with family or old friends. The service is great... towels and soap for the shower... you have an ice bucket, a mini fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. The TV is on the wall and has DISH network. You see a lot of nature by the river. The elk are HUGE... and just take over... LOL. If you don't need a fancy place to stay, but want a down home friendly motel... this is the place. And the pool.... Super clean. The owners take pride in their establishment and it shows. We would stay again. read more

This is a great mom and pop retro motel very close to Bryson City. There are two rivers that converge (hence the name) that is so beautiful to sit and watch. After a day of riding motorcycles in the rain, we decided to skip camping and get a warm and dry place to stay. Bikers welcome under the vacancy sign is all we needed to make our decision to stay here. The Two Rivers Lodge is a great value and the rooms were perfect to dry off our gear, get a hot shower and have a dry place to sleep. We enjoyed our stay so much we came back at tail end of our trip for another night. The rooms were impeccably clean and well maintained. The motel is run by a family and they were very friendly and helpful to make sure that we were taken care of. I would stay here again, rain or shine. read more

Cozy.. HOWEVER the owner is the RUDEST PERSON I've came across in a while !!! I'm not really a mountain person I usually go to the beach and I always stay in four or five star resort. We had stayed three weeks ago it is close to home so we decided to go back for the weekend and we were there Sunday night Monday morning I talked to him he was fine 10 minutes later he came charging at me like a bear accusing me of smoking in his room which was not true, he wanted to argue with me and then finally he said well I guess it's your body odor that stinks!!!! I was very offended not to mention when we got to the room this time I had to open all the windows cut the air on high because it literally smells like something had died in there. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone read more

My elderly parents, my hearing impaired husband, our 3 year old and I was traveling by. My 70 year old father spotted an elk so we pulled slightly into the entrance drive to turn around. I jumped out to grab my camera from the trunk so I could shot a picture from the car window for my dad. This women proceeds to run out of the office screaming at me..mind you I was on the shoulder of the road. I tried to explain nicely that we were just trying to turn around and I asked her it was OK. She said :no it's private property. I said yes, but it's also a hotel. She was VERY Aggressive and I'm pretty sure she had a GUN. My husband pulled in a bit, not hearing the conversation (because of his impairment.) She proceeds to walk toward the vehicle, flapping her arms and waiving something. I've read other reviews stating that "they were scared of Travelers". Heck, Travelers beware of them. How can you own a hotel and treat people that way!!! Note: it was still very light...whatever there response is..there is no justification for thier behavior. There is a mountain and very little places to pull off on this road. I just called about a room for tomorrow night. I live in Morganton NC and the man answering my phone call said that he did not rent to "LOCAL" people. I told him that I was not local that I live in Morganton NC. He told me that I was not because according to my phone number is a local number. My phone number is (828) 244-xxxx and this is not a Bryson City, NC local number. This man was VERY rude and if he was an employee than he needs retraining or move on to a new career. If he owns it I pity anyone staying there with the attitude that he has. If possible he would not even got one star on the review but had to give one to post a review. *** But... he did say that if I wasn't local that he was sorry about that and he hung up on me while I was trying to tell him that I wasn't local. I called Motel back and he would not even answer the phone. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL way to run a business. *** no way would I stay there and will pass this on to all my family, friends and my military family& friends. read more

Not sure where the great reviews coming from - unless you're a biker. The owner is courteous and helpful, BUT, you might as well be sharing your room with the next two rooms down, and when they woke us up at 2:30 am probably returning from the casino, we heard every word of every conversation. The room needed a major update, looked like it hadn't been changed since the 70's, not. a "quaint" look either. Yes, a bikers haven, and they roared all night too. Booked this having found it on Trip Advisor - we wanted to be near enough to the Smoky Mountains. Gizmo is friendly, and we felt completely at ease and welcome when we arrived. We're travelling with 2 small boys (4 & 7yrs) and they were able to rush off and shoot hoops while we unpacked. Nothing fancy, but rooms were clean and staff was friendly. This place caters to bikers and there were lots of them there. They were not rowdy, but I wasn't a fan of their smoking and drinking. Very convenient to GSMR, which was nice since we were there for a train ride. But this is not a place for families, especially those with small children. read more

Quaint, quiet, and super clean, this older establishment is exceptionally maintained. Our room faced the river -- a beautiful view -- but at night, we left the windows open and listened to the river. Absolute heaven! Great location with easy access to many surrounding areas. We loved the porches with rockers and gliders, which encourage guests to relax and "sit a spell." Our only complaint was the sound between the rooms. You could hear everything from the other rooms, but fortunately, our neighbors were quiet so not an issue for us. Considered yourself warned. The rooms have a fridge, microwave and toaster, which is great for in-the-room snacking and small meals. Compared to the sterile, dime a dozen hotel chains, this is an adorable place with charm and character at a great rate. read more

Don't waste your time staying at this place if you want a pleasant experience. When I stayed there they did not cleaned the room. They would only give new towels and only once they made the bed. Coffee pot was broken and the owner didn't care to replace it and gave the excuse that I was using my own filter. Not sure how the broken glass is related to the paper filter. I was using my own paper filter and my own coffee because they did not provided coffee the second morning. We requested additional pillows for bed and the ones they gave us had hairs from other people. Also not very safe. Owner and another man were using guns near the fire place and grill. You could smell the gun powder all the way to my room. read more

The setting and rooms are both exquisite. The rooms have an old country feeling to them and for sure look lived in, but they aren't by any means poorly maintained. This lodge looks about as good as a motel can. The motel's problems aren't with the motel itself, but with the owners. The couple that own the place seem to not want people there at all. Upon checking in, the women co-owner was in the pool and acted very annoyed that she had to come check someone in, as if customers were a burden. The next example of employee irritability occurred when me, my 12 year old brother and my cousins, both under 10, were walking in an area behind the main motel area. We were back there because, along with two rooms, we also had rented out the cabin behind the main motel building. The area we were walking in was in between the motel building and a fence. The path was well worn and had nothing back there, save for some trees and a closed barn. There were no signs or anything indicating that we weren't allowed to use the path as a walk way, and we thought we could, due to the fact it was a well worn path. As we walked back there, the owner drove his lawnmower towards us. I attempted to step out of the way, but he continued to drive straight at me. I stood there trying to understand why he was trying to hit me, and he slammed on his breaks not more than a foot in front of me and my young family members. He began yelling at me that the area was not for the public. I, having almost been hit by a lawnmower, was angry and answered that he shouldn't drive his mower at a bunch of kids like that. He then followed me back to my room and continued to yell at me, I then told him that my grandmother was at the cabin if he wanted to talk to her. He went and yelled at my Grandmother, calling me "the most disrespectful young man" he's ever met. After he yelled at my grandmother for a while, he went back to mowing his grass. I just want to say that he did cool down later that night, but it really soured the trip for me. My little brother was angry and my young cousins were very scared. Even if people weren't supposed to be back there, there are no signs and he did not handle the situation like an adult entrepreneur should. Sorry for the rant, hope this helps some. read more

We stayed here for a couple of nights on a quick trip to check out the Smoky Mountains. It was great! It is in a great location right on the river, in between downtown Bryson city, and cherokee. Yes, it is an older establishment, but it our room was super clean, which is all I care about, and it has way more character than you would find in the more sterile, run of the mill chain hotels - like an awesome lamp with black bears on it, rocking chairs on the porch out front, etc. we always travel with our largish dog, and there is only a one time fee of 15.00 for pets here, and no hassle about breed or size. It is family owned and run, and you can tell the owner puts a lot of thought and heart into it. He has a bonfire in the evenings right by the river, so people can go down and enjoy talking to him or other guests. Our room had a complete kitchenette which was also really nice.
