Hiring Brooke and her team from Tying the Knot was the best money we spent for our wedding. We hired Brooke for "day of" wedding services, which included speaking with all of our vendors, creating a wedding timeline, attending the wedding rehearsal and coordinating everything the day of our wedding. I knew I would be very involved with choosing all of our vendors and doing all of the planning so this was the perfect amount of help for our situation. We also got an hour of her time to use how we wanted and we chose to use it by having her attend our final meeting with our caterer. She asked the perfect questions! Brooke ensured all of our vendors knew their responsibilities and where / when to show up. She helped me coordinate things like who needed parking, who required a hot meal, etc. to ensure I didn't miss anything with all of the contracts. She helped coordinate our rehearsal at the actual church (not the dinner) and she spent the day of with my bridesmaids and me making sure we were on time to everything. While we did pictures around the city, she went to our reception venue to ensure everything was set up correctly. The few (tiny) issues that did come up on the actual wedding day she handled without even getting us involved. It was perfect! My parents were skeptical about having someone help us because they thought they could do everything I needed the day of the wedding, but I wanted everyone to be able to relax and have fun without worrying about all the details. If I could give an unlimited amount of stars I would! We hired Christine to be our wedding coordinator for our June wedding. She was by far, hands down the best investment that we made. Not only was she exceptionally helpful when I came to her with questions, she also gave me so many ideas for the invitations, flowers, decor and reception that she really helped me pull the event together and make it uniquely my own. Another thing that my now husband and I loved about her was when we first talked was that she made a point to say that we will feel like guests at our own wedding and honestly we did. Hiring Tying the Knot for day-of coordination was the best use of our wedding budget! Brooke served as our day-of wedding coordinator and was accessible immediately after we first met to answer any of our logistical questions in the final months of wedding planning. My husband and I initially did not think we needed a wedding planner, but after our first meeting with Brooke, we knew that she would be the most helpful resource we had for the wedding, especially because our venue coordinator was non-responsive at times. At our first meeting, she discussed all of the major tasks to concentrate on, many of which we would have never thought of had we not hired Tying the Knot. Brooke and her assistant Jamie worked the wedding and hustled for 10 hours to make sure everything went smoothly. Tying the Knot's day-off coordination included everything from running the rehearsal the day before when our officiant canceled, to tackling the difficult final count conversations with our venue coordinator, to quickly deploying the emergency kit to clean us up after a messy exit toss. This review is long overdue. Christine and Brook did an incredible job of day-of coordination for my wedding in Sept 2005. I had Christine out to a few extra things as well (floral meeting and tasting) so she'd know exactly what the day should look like. If you knew me you'd know I'm extremely Type A and pretty much a control freak (lovely, I know) but the fact that I trusted these two ladies with one of the most important days of my life speaks volumes. Everything was flawless and meaningful and I highly recommend them to anyone who'd like a little less (or no) stress on their wedding day! At first I was skeptical about whether we really needed a wedding planner. After everything is now said and done, it turned out to be the best decision that we made throughout the process. Brooke from Tying the Knot was our wedding planner for our wedding in August in Chicago. I can't say enough good things about Brooke. She walked us through all of the details and spent numerous hours working to minimize the amount of work that we had to do to plan our wedding. Brooke did a a great job of listening to the wishes of my wife, my mother in law, and myself, which were all very different, and came up with solutions that made us all happy. I really don't think that we could have pulled this off without her help. I'm a dude that doesn't get too wrapped up into wedding details, but even I realize that Brooke helped us plan a really amazing wedding. Brooke really went the extra mile for our wedding. She was on hand for the whole event, and helped us take care of last minute issues. For example, when we realized that we didn't have anywhere to store the left over alcohol at our wedding, she personally loaded it up into her own vehicle and took care of returning it herself, even though this was something that we were supposed to take care of. This could have been a really stressful situation, but instead we got to focus on having fun with our friends after the wedding was over. I highly recommend Brooke's services. read more

Christine was our wedding planner and she was OUTSTANDING! We decided to hire Tying the Knot for the wedding day only service and it was the best decision we made! Christine became involved in the planning around 3-4 months before and was so helpful with the vendors and reception location. She was familiar with our venue and provide great advice when putting together the schedule of events. She also took complete control of dealing with all vendors and communicating the timeline and directions. This allowed me to spend time with my family and friends the days leading up to the wedding and not spending hours on the phone with vendors. Being an engaged couple from California, but getting married in the Chicagoland area, my husband and I thought it was necessary to hire a wedding planner to assist with all the planning and details. After multiple interviews with different wedding planners throughout the Chicagoland area, my husband and I decided to hire Brooke from Tying the Knot. Without a doubt, it was the best decision we made for the wedding. Brooke was extremely organized, profressional, and diligent in any questions and details regarding our wedding. Brooke organized all the appointments and gave recommendations for all vendors, such as: florist, DJ, photographer, photobooth, country clubs, invitations, and limo services. Since we reside in California, Brooke would arrange her schedule to meet with us at our convience (day after Christmas, and 10-11PM phone calls due to time differences) We would have been completely lost without the assistance from Tying the Knot. On the day of our wedding, Brooke was extremely attentive to all the details at the church and reception. Brooke would immediately handle any situation that would arise, allowing us to remain stress-free to enjoy the ceremony and reception. We worked with Brooke from TTK for day-of wedding coordinating services for our wedding, and let me tell you - she was some of the best money we spent. On top of making sure EVERYTHING ran smoothly and taking care of everything the day of (and really most of the things the whole week of the wedding), she created detailed timelines for all vendors, reviewed all contracts, followed up with vendors in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and was always available for whatever questions we had. Yep, Brooke from TTK is as good as it gets. I am the FOB. We worked with Brooke for coordination. I'm not sure if it was her day-of-wedding coordinating or what; but, what ever it was called she was just plain FANTASTIC. My daughter had planned most of the wedding over a year in advance. Brooke started with us probably 2-3 months prior to the wedding and she made sure all the plans were executed flawlessly. That included every vendor of the wedding reception and all the details at the church. She was my confidant for a couple of surprise events at the reception. Without her I couldn't have pulled off the surprises. Brooke almost became family that Wedding Day. She helped us all ( Bride, MoB, FoB and I think even the new in-laws) with every detail from her timeline and making sure everything was timely and perfectly executed. The best was her way of making sure things were happening flawlessly....." OK dad, you can't leave the room.....You will be dancing with your daughter in 5 minutes". Thank God she was there. Trying to be social and adhering to a timetable would have been impossible. No family member should ever be tasked to do anything on the wedding day except ENJOY. Brooke made this possible. She had a long day and everything was perfect. Two weeks later we are still trying to remember if there was any flaws to the wedding and timetable. NOPE!!! Christine and Anne were absolutely amazing wedding planners. First and foremost they are the kindest, most patient, and fun women. In their company you can't help but feel happy and cared for. They are extremely detail oriented and didn't miss a thing. Christine was able to offer excellent advice and ideas because of her experience planning so many weddings. She literally gave recommendations for nearly all of our other vendors- each one of which we could not have been happier with. In addition, we purchased and designed nearly all of our paper products with Christine which made everything so streamlined and organized (invitations, menu cards, ceremony programs, thank you cards). And we wanted welcome boxes in the hotel rooms but didn't have the energy to do it. So of course Christine said that was another service she could provide. The boxes and note were just perfect- our guests loved them!
