When we were little my mom forced us to take piano lessons, at first I hate them, but after awhile I started to enjoy them and wanted to do better and learn more songs. Encouraging us to practice more my mom and dad bought us a piano, hoping to bring a bit of music into the house. A few years on and my sisters had completely dropped out of lessons and I was the only one left playing. I used to like to practice some of my favourite songs and play Christmas tunes during the holiday seasons. Then one day my mom told me sorry Kelly, but we've decided to sell the piano, it's taking up too much space and nobody ever uses it, and then she looked at me and said well you're the only one who uses it, but we don't care (ok she didn't really say that bit, but that's how I felt).
When I first moved to my current apartment all the memories of way back then came back. Across the street from me was a random sign 'Tynan Pianos'. I finally got up enough pluck to check it out only to discover that it was in fact attached to a shop and that said shop was basically the most premiere piano shop in not only Dublin, but the whole of Ireland. All the top musical organisations use them and they were even given the responsibility of restoring James Joyce's piano. They sell new and used pianos so if your budgets a bit tight, there's something out there for you. read more
