It's been fun and painless. Think about what it takes to get 5 pups to stay still and pose for a photo! Julie does it and makes it look easy. This year Covid closed down the usual location. We then contacted Julie and, not surprisingly, found she was prepared to meet quarantine precautions and to take the photos. The only challenge was needing a Santa, but she had a newly cleaned costume and as I was going to be there... Julie set us up, posed the dogs, got their attention and took the photos. We reviewed the photos while there. A few days later we were able to review the proofs, download and pay for the ones we wanted. Another year and another great photo.

The great thing about Julie is that she doesn't push her idea of what would make a good shoot on you. She lets you be you and captures the moments, natural and unposed. She has a great feel for what makes a good picture, and she'll always load you down with tons of great shots to pick from after she's done. Her camera work is impeccable, and I love the options she offers for preserving the special moments she captures, like the photo books she offers. We picked Julie after having a bad experience with another photographer for our daughter's first birthday. That photographer insisted in posing us according to her vision, with the result that we all felt stiff, unnatural, and pressured. It didn't help that the first photographer insisted on having us wear clothes we were uncomfortable in and made insensitive comments about our weight and appearance. I wondered if all professional photographers were like that, which made me approach Julie with some trepidation. But she turned out to be the complete opposite of what we had that first year. She made us feel relaxed and happy. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, or a better photographer. She's great at what she does, and she's a terrific person to boot.
