I'm going to buck the trend and be the only 5-star review (so far!) on this station. During our DC…read moretrip, we were staying in Fairfax and were advised by local DC friends my of in-laws to park at this station. The parking lots is spacious, and there was always plenty of available parking both in the garage as well as in the outdoor lot. It would have been helpful if there was signage at the outdoor lot as to which direction to travel to get to the metro itself, but after following other people the first day, it was easy enough to figure out. The staff here that we interacted here were all friendly and helpful. On our first day taking the metro, the staff noticed we were a bit confused so actually approached to make sure any questions we had were addressed. The station itself was kept fairly clean, and we didn't notice any trash or litter around the station proper or waiting areas. The actual platforms are technically outdoors, but are covered so you are still mostly protected from the weather (with the exception of the cold). The location is definitely a bit out of the way, so this station does not typically get too packed, even during rush hour. However this location only services the orange line, so there might be a bit of a wait for the next train. Although you don't really see Metro police patrolling this station like you see in DC, we never really felt unsafe here nor noticed signs of broken glass on the floor in the parking lots, indictive of frequent car theft/break-ins. Parking is $3 all-day if you are taking the metro. Overnight parking is not offered at this location.

This is kept pretty clean and it's convenient to ground transportation. Here there's a big parking garage. It serves the Orange Line. This is the next to last stop. After this the Orange Line goes next to Vienna, where it ends. The Silver Line is to the east when you get to the East Falls Church station. It takes longer to get a train because there's fewer that come through here. There also isn't much going on around it. It has lots of parking, which is the best thing about here. Kind of too far from any places to eat or shopping and stuff. The fewer trains mean a long wait.

Very poor planned station. Communication is key, however it lacks here. If you are a rider its…read moresimple, right? Just walk on to the station and hop on the train. However if you park and ride it's very misleading. So most parking stations has the long bar when you when entering. You tap to pay when you exit. However here, its confusing. Some parking spaces has numbers let's say #40. You go to the kiosk you try to pay However its certain times that you pay and certain times thats its free. You cant pay ahead. When you do pay its like $1 an hour. If your waiting for someone to p/u the car lines cause a huge backup because its in a shared lot (I think) with restaurants. Theres no signs mentioning hours or anything. Luckily, I was meeting with friends nearby and I waited til 7pm to pay for my parking. I made sure I took a copy of my paid parking.. though my time expired... by 30 minutes. Nothing happened.. I hope i dont get any surprises in the mail.

I couldn't back up safely in the snow so I pulled in and made an immediate U-turn to get back on the roads. Guy on the intercom just smirked saying there's no grace period - then asking my payment method and started mockingly walk me through how to pay like I'm an elderly person, speaking overly loudly and slowly. Yes, it may be policy you're the only parking garage in the 21st century that doesn't let me leave for free in the first 15 minutes. At the end of the day it's $9. But when people are already having a bad day getting around driving in bad weather and your reflex is to laugh, there's a special place for people like that.

The closures of Dunn Lorring Metro Station is the main reason for this.   I have watched this area transform from what the area use to look like.  I see high rise apartments  along with businesses like The MITRE Corporation, Northrop Grumman  and The Archer Hotel which use to be a Hilton Hotel. The Sushi Umi store has been there since 2018 and I do not believe the restaurant ever opened.  Please correct me if I am wrong. The McLean Metro stop from what I saw today look clean and well maintained.   The escalator steps were the only thing that looked worn and scuffed up from heavy traffic...as it should be. I saw the cost of getting a day pass is still 10 bucks with $8.00 dollars being credited to your Smartcard.  I saw the new prices for Rush Hours and Non-Rush have changed in price.  Now Non-Rush Hour's price is  $2.00.  I failed to take a picture of the new time prices, but a least you know the Now rush hour time  starts at 5:00am ends at 9:30am.   Rush Hour starts up again at 3:00pm and ends at 7:00pm. I did not get to the top of the subway area, but I will another time.  Nevertheless, I enjoyed seeing the new area of Tyson's Corner from the Metro Station.  I will be sure to ride the Silverline  from start to finish some time on Saturday in the distant future.   Maybe even stop by and visit Relaxation Station  at Weaton Mall. We will see.
