The nail technicians are not equally skilled causing customers to ask for specific technicians. Long standing customers can no longer get appointments with the skilled technicians who don't paint over your cuticle and don't hurt you. Disappointing. High skill level of all technicians will fix the problem. read more

Temp is at 90 in town today. They had the door open and a few fans blowing. Waited a while for pedicures we had "appointments" for. Finally got sat and helped a while later. The lady that did my pedicure never went and got clean sanitized tools. She literally used old used tools on me. She never asked what kind of pedi. Just worried about gel. I had to ask her to clip my broken pieces of nail off because she was about to paint over it! She acted confused. The pedicure chair hardly worked. Then she hopped over to my mom and is using the same exact tools on her. I guess I received a basic pedi, but mom is getting the heal treatment and she never even asked for it. I'm from a larger town with MUCH nicer salons. I definitely will not be back. Can't wait to see how much she's charging me. read more

Newish to the Tehachapi area (Orange county native who married a Tehachapian ;) ) I went in for a full face wax. I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness and nice atmosphere of the salon. The owner Mai was finishing up another persons nails and she told me she would be right with me. About 5 mins later she took me into the waxing room. She was amazingly sweet and felt like a friend I'd known for a long time. She took the time to make sure I was hair free with waxing AND tweezing! She was very detailed and it didn't feel like she was rushing to have me done and out the door. I will be back for sure! And I have 2 school age girls and a husband who will be coming with me for pedicures :) read more

Absolutely horrible. My daughters and I went in today for gel manicures. I've been there several times and had Tina who does a good job as long as you stick with solid colors or decals for the art. Today she wasn't there when I got there so we each had different people and I don't know their names. My nails are not even close to what I asked for. They tried to get me to put on a decal instead of a painted design and I explained to them that the decals fall off within two days. Then the woman doing my nails left the station and another woman very lamely attempted to paint on a simple heart. Looked horrendous, after several tries ( not real attempts) I told them enough was enough. She then proceeded to lotion my hands and I said, my nails are cloudy and something is off. She said it's because I didn't position them under the light correctly. I then asked what I needed to do in order to not leave that place with my nails looking like they did. They sprayed some stuff on them, I put them back under the light, they sprayed more stuff and buffed them. They looked way better, but not nice. I've been getting my nails done for years and have never had such issues. I know this place can't do intricate designs, but this is ridiculous. The most disturbing part was when she set up the whole station and pulled out the dish with instruments in it and began her process, I said "those instruments are filthy." There was nail dust and skin all over them! She said "I know, I will get new ones don't worry." She then got up and got a new package. I then went to the two ther stations to make sure my girls' instruments were clean. Theirs were. I will never go back there. I like the convenience of being able to just walk in, but this was the final straw. read more

I got a set of acrylics done by Mya. At first everything was good. Two days later, that started falling off. Mind you, I didn't do anything that would have made it come off. I called Mya and she insisted I come down right away. I go in to get them fixed and to get a color change. She was very snappy and rushed to get them done. I got my pinky cut by the bur in the process. This is what I walked out with. I cannot believe that this is how customers are treated like this at this salon. I will be taking my business elsewhere and will not recommend this place to anyone. I'm really sad because my first appointment was so nice but when I needed them to fix what they did wrong, I was treated terrible. To top it all off, what she "fixed" is already coming off. If I could give 0 stars I would. This was seriously the worst pedicure I have ever had. They gave me an ingrown toenail and I was bleeding. After they didn't even use cotton balls they squirted acetone directly on me. When I asked if I could rinse it off they gave me a single hot washcloth. She didn't wear gloves use new or clean tools or even clean the foot spa. I could have painted my nails better at home. She got her hair in my nails and then pulled it off ruined the nail and laughed. She didn't even pain the whole nail just the cuticle. read more

My husband and I had a Spy day, Linda our favorite Salon girl gave us a beautiful pedicure and a manicure. Also did a manly pedicure on my husband. I've seen some negative reviews for this salon, and I had never been overly impressed by any of the technicians here in over the last two years. However my last couple of visits have been great! My visit today with technician Tom prompted me to leave a good review! And I sprung for the deluxe pedicure with gel, which is always a little pricey but today it was worth it. Not only did Tom do a great job on my gel toes he was thorough in his massage and scrubbed the bottoms of my feet like they should be in any good pedicure! I generally I'm not picky about getting my toes done, most of the time it just feels nice to be in the chair and have somebody rubbing your feet. However I will make it a point to go back and see Tom again. The owner of the salon is always pleasant as well. read more

Only Place I will go and get my toes done. The place is so clean and you see the instruments getting sterilized. The staff is friendly and the leg massages with the pedicure are great :) they just expanded and got really nice chairs in the new area and a place for kids to get there tors done as well read more

I went there for the first time last Friday on the 21st and the staff was nice ,besides the lady Mai she is the owner I think !! The pedicure was amazing but when Mai put a full set on me she shouldn't be doing nails. they were uneven and looked horrible I was going to a family party and was horrified to even shack hands. I have visited this salon on and off for years and had been coming consistently for awhile as I liked the pedicures. I won't be coming back. I got a terrible nail fungus that has ruined my fingernails. I'm treating it with medication after seeing my doctor who says it will take months to heal and may require full removal of my nails. I returned to show the manicurist who had done my nails the last two times before the fungus developed and she suggested that I had an "allergy" to the products. My doctor says this is not so, it's a fungus. read more

The mixed reviews had me worried but I was pleasantly surprised with my French Tip Gel Mani ($30). Linda did excellent on my nails so I will be returning to her in the future. She was very sweet and gentle and made nice conversation with me during my visit. They also offer a kids mani/pedi for inexpensive ($15 from my understanding) and have little kids pedicure chairs. If I could do zero stars I would. I called to see what time they closed and I was told to come straight in and they would take care of me. I went in for a pedi and full set manicure. My pedicure was extremely rushed. I wasn't offered the list to choose from and I was only in the chair for 7 minutes. Then the lady that did my manicure was awful!!! I asked for a ombré set. She piled on so much powder, she was extremely rough, and was rushing. When I pointing out some problems with the nails she told me it oils be fine that she would file it down. My nails looked the worst I have ever seen! They were closed and ready to leave. It was $65 for both services. I went back first thing the next morning to have them fixed. She acted completely annoyed and blamed the powder for it looking like that. She said that's how the powder looks and there's nothing she can do. Her tone was rude and not once did she apologize for the way the turned out. I asked for a refund since it was not to my liking and they weren't going to be able to do what I what. She denied me the refund and said she would fix them. I was in a wedding the next day and needed them to be fixed. She fixed them by doing just a basic French tip. The day before i was told the French tip was $10 cheaper than the ombré set. I did not get the difference in price either. She then blamed the wideness of my finger nails for the way my nails looked. My nails aren't wide. Two days after she "fixes" them and the corners are lifting. The nails aren't even throughout and the bottoms don't line up with the shape of my nails. I will never go again and I have been getting pedicures from here for the past 3 summers. read more

U & I Nails is a very busy nail & hair salon located across from Taco Bell at Tucker & Valley. It is a large facility with many "stations" and pedicure chairs. They even have several children's pedicure chairs so you can make appointments for several family members at the same time. You can walk in, but on Friday or Saturday I would call for an appointment. Megan does a nice pedicure & gel nails and Katie is my favorite hairdresser! I love that the prices are very reasonable. read more

I was visiting my Dad in Tehachapi several weeks ago for our annual Mountain Festival/Rodeo shenanigans. I was in desperate need of a pedicure! Super last minute. I called U & I and asked them if they could squeeze me in for a pedicure... she said they didn't have anyone waiting so to come in "now". I arrived 5 minutes later and was greeted immediately! Very friendly people, and the owner is just the sweetest! I think her name is Mai? I feel bad because I cannot remember the girls name that did my pedicure, but she did a FANTASTIC job! I mean, like one of the best pedicures I've ever had in my life, ever. I got the deluxe pedicure for $35... $40 with tip. That EXACT same pedicure at my regular nail salon costs $50! My feet were soft for 3 weeks and the nail polish stayed put as well. I highly reccommend this place. I know that I will be returning to Tehachapi in October for the Apple Festival at which time I will be getting another pedicure! read more
