But the people and the vibe that used to make Roundtop a special place for families is nowhere to be seen. A special note to anyone from Vail, who happens to read this. There is is a family of five skiers that grew up at Roundtop because I brought them there. The mothers were able to ski during the week with the babies and toddlers. There was daycare for the babies and toddlers. There were plugs for the crockpot for the lunches downstairs. It's all gone. The only thing left is the purchase price and share value of the corporation. Where do you expect the next generation of skiers to come from?

We signed up for Science Explorers & he has enjoyed it so much that he asked to do a second week! It's all virtual, through Zoom, but a week before they send a box filled with all the items they'll need for the week. Each experiment is prelabeled, in its own bag, & only a very few items are needed from home (like scissors). The instructor is patient & engaging, ensuring the questions are answered and a break is given (it is a 2.5 hour "class"). While my son has needed some help here & there, it is very age appropriate for the group of children who signed up. I seriously recommend Science Explorers to anyone who child loves doing experiments!!

This year was a little more complicated because one of my kids got homesick at the beginning; I was so impressed with the skill and compassion that the head counselor, Tom, exhibited during my son's crisis. He helped my son to feel safe and well-cared-for, and he comforted him and encouraged him in such a way that my son ended up really enjoying his remaining time at Camp Kresge immensely despite his initial bout of homesickness. This camp is so much fun for kids--they come home singing camp songs, telling funny stories about their experiences there, and talking about how amazing all of the camp counsellors are. 5 stars isn't enough for this camp and its counsellors. The perfect authentic, rustic, action-packed, incredibly fun summer camp experience.

Staff, you will regret serving here, find a different place to serve, and don't be afraid to interview the camp you want to serve at before you go, ask people who have served there before in the same position, and see what their experience is. People with a good experience will be glad to give this information to you.
