this is the worst place for rent, people there are the worst, they are so rude and they don't help you if is something wich you don't know

So slow. Waited in line for 45 minutes, what's worse I was 1st in that line for the full 45 minutes! Once I did reached the desk I was asked for my drivers license, credit card, a number for secondary contact that that they could call to verify my information and my first born child, all this to rent a moving dolly! The good thing is I did get the dolly but if I ever need one again I will buy one from Canadian Tire. read more

We rented a truck to move our house belongings to the u-box storage in April 2014 from U-Haul at 240 Rexdale Blvd Toronto, ON M9W1R2 and one of the employees, driving similar U-haul truck smashed into our truck parked in the storage parking lot. We (me and my husband) were both inside of the trunk, moving our furniture around to load the u-box, when the other truck smashed into the front of our parked truck and the whole load moved suddenly. Luckily we were not hurt and the truck ended with dented bumper but the employee didn't even say "sorry" or checked if we were ok. She just said: "you won't be charged for the damage, so you're good". We spend another hour pulling ourselves together after the shock of the accident and indifferent, poor service but carried on with the move. I wish we had complained about the situation at that time. After several months of using the u-box storage at the same location, we've decided to pick up our belongings from the u-box storage on our own and not using the shipping option. We called several times, a week in advance to let the location know that we're coming at the specific date and time, from different city (600km away) to get a one-way truck rental, load it with our belongings from the u-box and drive back 600 km - 1200 km day trip!!! The time was very important to us and we felt that a week advance is enough for the U-haul employees of the location to have the u-box ready. Upon arriving, we waited 4 hours for the u-box to be ready while, in the meantime the employees were chatting, helping other customers and don't giving a damn about us and our time sensitive situation. How they were dealing with the u-box, that's another story! They were pulling it with the thin rope fixed to the forklift that broke several times and sprang back towards the forklift driver and nearby people. I was trying to address the issue of unsafe practices to the customer service (manager was not on site) but nothing was done. We've lost yet another few hours and nerves there waiting for this tragedy to stop and still had 600 km ahead of us, at night! I'm shocked with the way we were treated after being a rather valuable customers for the U-haul company. By using the truck rentals and storage services we've left around 1000$ with the company. But it looks like no matter how much of your time and money you'll leave to support U-haul business, you wont't get a good service and you may even get hurt by not well trained and careless U-haul employees. I've been trying to raise this case to the U-haul customer service but after losing several hours on the phone, talking to several different people I've lost my hope for any compensation! I do not recommend U-haul and won't be using its service anymore. It is not just poor but unsafe! read more

I had to wait 45 minutes just to pick up 6 plastic moving boxes that I had ordered online a day or two ago. To make matters worse, I noticed that the boxes were filthy when I got home. Some had a layer of dust at the bottom of them, others had some sort of sticky residue. They all smelled foul if you put your nose close enough. U-Haul charges a service fee if you return the boxes damaged or dirty. Is this branch, or even the whole company pocketing the fee and putting the responsibility of cleaning the damn things on their future customers? This is the first U-Haul I've been to but based on my experience it will also be my last. I would rather set every dollar I own alight and roll around in the flames than spend a single penny more at this company. read more

Never going back to this location or UHAUL in general. Worst experience ever...No communication. Lady just answers with one word. No patience in the phone either when calls come through. I told her I'd try to have the truck in before they close at 7pm but it might be later than that. She put us down for 9pm Now I've rented a handful of times before and never had an issue and assumed it was always 24 hours for the period cost. I brought the truck back at 1230 and got charged for TWO periods aka TWO DAYS. I chatted with a representative online. His name was Matthew. And I explained the situation. All he kept saying was well it's on your contract. And you didn't bring the stuff back in time. And I kept saying but I didn't say 9pm she just wrote it and didn't say anything. But again he says well it's in your contract so there is another period charge. Useless Horrible customer service. WORST employees. If you wanna feel like a piece of sh*t then go to this location and look at how they HATE explaining themselves. Their lack of energy and care. It's like they're forced to work lol JUST don't work there then. You make customers feel like sh*t and you don't know what you're doing. I was extremely angry at them. Charged me double for rental just for an extra 2 hours that I didn't agree on. Scammers. Snakes. Expensive. I think because of my chat with customer service they pulled a revenge plan on me and decided to call saying I didn't drop off the key last night...even though I did. Manager is rude...I tried talking to her and she kept trying to the end the call on me and said I'll call you back. I told her that I'd have no benefit of keeping the key on me. She said well it's protocol. They are charging me 150$ for a key replacement. This is the service you will receive people. Don't go there or they'll look for ways to charge you. I booked a trailer online on the U-haul app and did express checking from home to pick it up from 240 Rexdale U-haul. I was hoping to save time/money by using express checking. When I arrived at this location it took another 10-15 mins to answer a few questions at the front desk/show my drivers license and make the payment. Then one of the staff members were assigned to connect the trailer to my car. She asked me to drive to the rear side where the trailer is located. So I did. When I arrived at where the trailer is, The staff member said in her own words (Your trailer is behind another 3 trailers. I'm a woman and I can't move these trailers). She tried to pull one of the trailers and she couldn't even move it. I'm guessing she is in her late 50's or may be 60's. The management of this location has assigned this elderly woman to pull trailers and connect trailers in freezing cold outside. It was taking too long and she can't even move the trailers. I was wearing nice cloths to go to a special occasion and I was not expecting to move trailers. However I didn't have a choice. So I moved 3 trailers myself and helped her connecting my trailer to my car. And then I had to move back the other 3 trailers back to their original location. She can't perform these heavy work duties at her age and this results in unhappy customers. That lady should not be outside pulling trailers. She should be working indoors doing light duty work or front desk duties or other option that suites her age and physical strength. Physically fit men/women should be employed to do the heavy work outside in the cold. This place made me feel terrible. I had to spend another 45 mins at the location even though I already have done express checking. As a customer, I want quick and efficient service for my money. And I did not receive that from 240 Rexdale U-Haul. It was a bad customer experience and I will not return nor recommend this place to anyone in the future. read more
