Had to get a trailer and storage unit for a move. The guy who helped me had to explain to me couple of time certain things because its all new to me and he does this on the regular and looked at me me like I should be getting it. The first trip with my things went well little confusing finding the unit at 1st but all good until having to take one thing later and had trouble getting into the unit so had to come back the next day because the woman on the phone couldn't help me with it. The next day with trouble getting help on a Monday morning for one item but was done less than half hour over my time but let me slide because had proof about the night before. The units itself are very clean so is the whole building. The customer who used the van before me left a PISS BOTTLE shoved in the wood on the sides of the cargo van in the back. The gas gauge maybe broken too because how does it stay on F the whole time I'm driving. I have never had that happen especially with driving a uhaul. The worker brushed off the gas gauge concern I had. Whatever but I told him about what I found he was like what? I assumed they check the vehicles when a customer returns them so clearly someone isn't doing their job right. I'm glad I found it before my furniture went in there. The worker apologized about the piss bottle and said he would give me a discount. I get sent the receipt and it's refunded the 2 miles I didn't drive. I gagged... I would not recommend this place to anyone,the personal at this location treated us like dirt,phones are always down,walked in phones were down ,but they were on there own phones,had a hitch put on ,found out later they didnot put 4 undercarriage parts back on,called Main office and everything is done by emails, Useless!! i rented a truck, it had no business being on the road. thank god i didn't have to go on the thruway. once you hit 35 MPH the front end was all over the road. you had to jump it whenever you turned the engine off. store could care less. i am contacting the new York state DOT with the truck info. if they try and rent this truck to anyone, don't drive it read more

Wife went to enter the main gate, no problem. Went to enter climate controlled storage area, she had a problem. I tried it, she tried it no luck. Called the phone number on the door (not an actively staffed location), 43 minute wait!!! Phone number goes to a national call center. Sign on door says you can go (a mile) down the Road for immediate service. Load car back up, and we head down the road. First impression, busy, busy, BUSY place. There are no available parking spaces! Now I can understand the 43 minute phone call hold! Wife goes in store, AND there are NO customers, none, notta. Yet, all 20+ parking spots adjacent to the perimeter sidewalk to the building storefront are occupied! Makes NO sense unless you're employed here. So we park near the propane tank (unknowingly) on the exterior perimeter of the property. Wife goes in and returns informing me there is nobody inside even with all hers cars. Then says the associate embarrassed her by asking her if she tried codes and doors correctly, as if to say "you must be an idiot!" BUT, then, she says, the associate tells her "the power went out so we're issuing four-digit codes to everyone (we did get through main gate with our original code of more than for digits). Now, to get out of the parking lot to return to the storage center where are unit is. Since no parking spaces were available in front of the store as we drove across the parking lot, we parked on the perimeter with the propane line behind us. Now, we're boxed in by two customers who came after my wife went into the store to fill their propane tanks. So here's the problem if you KNOW the power went out AND you've had to re-issue different codes, why insult people at the same time? This appears to be a "Post-COVID-19" general theme. Embarrass and insult your customers all the while you have a know issue your customers are not aware of. It's getting old. So after getting the new code (because the power went out), we went back. Again, new code does not work. Another customer pulls up, his code does not work. So let's get back in the car and head back to the other location. While turning car around I get a mysterious WNY phone call on my 'out of area' cell phone. It's the uhaul center down the street. "Did you do _____?" Fill in the blank. "We're gonna send someone down." When the "someone" arrives, he can't access the interior storage either! My wife, some idiot she is!!! One of the worst places I have ever dealt with. The employees are the rudest I've ever seen. When I picked up the truck one guy was just sitting around, another was vacuuming. While I was at the counter he pulled vacuum cord tight against my leg, it actually hurt and almost knocked me over. Then proceeded to give me a dirty look. The truck itself only had half a tank of gas in it. Then when I returned the truck, I used the app, WHICH I WAS PROMPTED TO DO BY EMAIL AND TEXT, the employee was angry and very rude that I did it that way, asking where the truck was after I put keys in the drop box. He clearly knew where it was parked and I put all that information into the app regardless. I would never recommend or use this location or company again. read more

I'm having mixed feelings about my current U-Haul choice. When I signed up online I was told the first month was free. NOT! When I went to the facility to view my storage unit I signed up for autopay. Another NOT! The info that is provided online is not correct. You are not able to do anything with a storage unit. Online access is provided for managing truck rentals. I received an email from U-Haul saying that my monthly service fee was due. After an afternoon negotiating the website trying to decipher what was actually going on, I saw that I was kinda/maybe signed up for autopay and that my current balance was 0. Ok. Cool. Short lived euphoria. Today I get a call asking if I plan on paying for my unit and I reiterate what thus far has transpired. Local office has no idea about what I am speaking and asks for a credit card?? What is going on here? I explain about the free month which, they tell me, only applies to people who are new to the area and move in with a U-Haul vehicle. Lots of double talk and no one seems to know what is going on. Total Fiasco. Avoid at all costs. Reserved 2 weeks in advance and were overbooked with no availabl trucks at that location. Sent us an email while we were in transit - no call/text, that we had to go to another location. "Alleged" assistant manager directed us to a closed Buffalo location with a truck/lockbox, and we returned beacuse we were never sent a lockbox code by U-Haul online. When we returned the Assistant Manager was clueless. Location was overbooked for several weeks, we were in line behind someone who was also being redirected to another location to obtain previously reserved truck, and were told "I only work here" and that he isn't "responsible" for the booking system. He appeared totally unaware of how the lock-box sytem worked, and his "solution" was to attempt to direct us to a 3rd location in Cheektowaga. We were so late we declined the opportunity to have them fail again. We were on hold for U-Haul Customer Service for over 45 min at the 1st location drove to the Orchard Park location and eneded the call without every speaking to a rep. Total inablilty of U-Haul to reposition assets - worst service ever!! read more

I am a VERY unhappy customer. More unhappy because no one is even AVAILABLE to talk to me and sort out my problem. I either get ringing phones, no answer, or people who transfer me to someone else who also cannot help me. I have never dealt with such incompetent customer service before. I don't even know where to start. I have a U-Box in storage that I'm trying to ship, and when I talked on the phone to someone and gave him my card payment info, I thought it would be pretty straightforward (this was a new card, but I assumed that talking to someone and giving him the card info only needed to happen once--that he'd save my new payment info.) Apparently they still have my old card on file now and no record of the new payment info. Apparently, also, only a manager can take my payment info. I have been on the phone with countless employees, none of whom can take my payment for the shipping of my U-Box. Why is this company so unorganized and unskilled? Why is taking a payment so difficult? Why is it so difficult to save someone's new payment information? Rest assured, this is THE LAST TIME I'm ever going through this frustrating company. I have used U-Haul many times in the past, yet this is the last straw. If they care so little about customer satisfaction, well, then I will take my money and go somewhere else where phones are answered and payments are accepted smoothly, with no after-the-fact "mess-up" emails telling me my payment has been declined when in fact it went through, or when I just gave my new card info to a guy a week ago. UGH. Congrats U-Haul, you've lost a could-have-been loyal customer. AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS! read more

We finished filling the Ubox and just brought it back and again Jill was very pleasant and helpful even though she was only working by herself this morning. We had a noon appointment to have a hitch for bikes put on a vehicle. We were told the job would take an hour. At 3pm we called and were told "they were swamped" but were starting the job now. At 6:30 we went there and our car was still parked in the spot where we had left it with no hitch installed. They have lost our future business and we will not recommend them to anyone ever again. read more
